Barre Booty Burner

Hi friends! Howโ€™s the afternoon going? Hope youโ€™re enjoying the day! Today was an off day from workouts and teaching, and has been gloriously relaxing. Iโ€™m making some chili for dinner and excited to watch the Cats play later tonight. MARCH MADNESS is right around the corner! Speaking of March, I just sent out the March workout calendar–if you’d like to receive my monthly workout calendar and other useful info, be sure to subscribe to my newsletter below.

For today, I have a fun booty burner video to share. I feel like booties are totally the hype right now? Itโ€™s interesting to think of all of the body shape trends, but a strong, lifted perky booty, is always a good thing. Glute strength is also critical for everyday motions – think of how often we squat to stand throughout the day – and a strong lower body will increase the effectiveness of your workouts and classes.

Barre Booty Burner

Here is a quick (but intense!) burner workout, using some fave barre moves, and one of my fave tools: the Pilates ball. You can pick these up at the kidsโ€™ section in drugstores or Target. Liv was upset that I was smashing her mermaid ball so I eventually ordered my own from Amazon. Theyโ€™re about $5! If you donโ€™t have a ball, no worries; a small pillow will do, or you can skip it, and will still feel the burn. Remember to check with your doc before making any fitness changes and honor your body. Modify as needed.

That’s so cool about how using the ball with squats transfers the focus to your inner thighs and glutes. That’s actually one of the reasons I try to avoid squats–even chair pose–because my thighs always build up so damn quickly. When I used to figure skate I had literal thunder thighs. That’s also why I”m afraid to try spinning–I worry my quads would just get huge. But using the ball sounds good–especially if it tones the inner thighs and booty!

So many exercises I love here! I usually do these without the ball in my classes, but I love the extra resistance it adds!

I am going to check this workout out! I recently got a barre3 membership for the online workouts and have definitely noticed a difference already in my fitness (with completing about 2, 30 minute workouts a week for the past 2 months). Though I bought 2 kg weights and often have to put them down mid-way through because I’m dying. Barre is a great workout!

Hey Gina! So looking forward to your March workout. I really enjoyed the winter shape-up the first 2.5 weeks but I got a big of a bout of my nasty sciatica so had to cool off the last week and a half ๐Ÿ™ Such a bummer but so much better now! I was just thinking I needed another ‘kick start’ to get back into the swing of things after a few weeks off so this was PERFECT timing. Any way you can post the March workouts on Sunday? We are US military here in the UK and I’d love to have it for my Monday workout in the AM. No biggy, I just thought I’d put in a request ๐Ÿ˜‰ Love you blog so much!!!! You are doing great things for those of us with busy schedules, kiddos, husbands and life in general. You make working out and good nutrition come very easily. Kudos to you for being such a blessing ๐Ÿ™‚ Cindy XXOO
