Post Baby Bod – claim yours now!
Hi friends! Howโs the morning going? I have exciting news today- Post Baby Bod is officially on the way! I will have the entire thing ready to go in early March -itโs a hefty document and there are things I want to add and tweak as I go along my second postpartum fitness journey- but I wanted to offer the opportunity to claim yours in advance, and get a freebie Iโve been working on.
(Tree pose with Liv, and P in my belly!)
Why Post Baby Bod?
The wheels started turning for this one right after I had Liv. I wanted to get back into my fitness routine, but even as a trainer and instructor, I was unsure of what exercises were safe and how to progress back to my previous fitness level without injuring myself. So, I ended up having to do a ton of research, experimenting, and I also learned that making time to develop a plan and take care of a newborn is tricky stuff. I just wanted to snuggle my baby, and used fitness as a bit of โmeโ time after we were finally sleeping a bit. I showed myself kindness and patience, and was still able to build back my fitness routine and get back into the things I love. I took notes along the way so that Iโd be able to refer to them when and if baby #2 came along.
Last winter, shortly before I found out we were pregnant with P, I thought to myself, โI need to put all of this info into one spot.โ At midnight, I couldnโt get it out of my mind, so I took out my computer and purchased the domain postbabybod.com. I have an idea of turning it into an entire pre- and postpartum fitness and health resource, and Iโll be adding content to it regularly after the plan launches. It will be its own separate blog, and I will be enlisting the help of experts in the field to contribute to the site. (If youโre a physical therapist or certified personal trainer with experience in prenatal and postpartum fitness, and would like to contribute, please let me know!) Iโll put together everything I’ve had to research on my own (or learn the hard way!), and share it with fellow mamas.
Iโve been working on the Post Baby Bod for the past year, and took a lot of care into developing a 12-week postpartum fitness plan. The plan is broken into three 4-week modules, starting with developing a solid routine, building strength, improving cardio endurance, and finally, incorporating more intense circuit training. 15 mamas generously offered to test out the workouts in advance, and saw AMAZING results.
Check out Jannaโs results:
Even though the physical results were astounding, the ones that made me happiest were when the lovely ladies told me that they felt stronger and more energized with the plan. They were taking amazing care of their babies and themselves at the same time, which can be tough to balance, especially in the early months. So many mamas told me that they were thankful for PBB, as they could safely and effectively build back to their previous level of training, without needing tons of equipment or time. Also not needing to plan or think about setting it up is a game changer; pregnancy and new-mama brain is for real.
Here are some more details about PBB.
This plan is for:
-Moms and mom-to-be who want to take the guesswork out of setting up a postpartum plan. I was very strategic about the design, especially regarding types of cardio and dedicated core work. I wanted to gradually increase fitness while optimizing healing at the same time.
-Those who want to increase energy levels, cardio perform and lean muscle- the smart way!
-Those who donโt have a lot of time (all of us) or equipment to work out
This plan is not for:
-Those who prefer working out in a group fitness environment for their daily sweat sessions
-Those who want to go hardcore as soon as theyโre cleared to work out again
Why doesnโt it include a meal plan?
This is a separate document that youโll get for free if you preorder today! Just as a โthank you,โ Iโll send you a separate document when the plan launches with 4 full weeks of meal plans, prep-ahead tips, and bonus recipes. All of the recipes include whole, simple foods, are nutrient-dense and family-friendly.
Here is all of the info if youโd like to check it out! Preorders end on Monday.
xoxo
Gina
I think you look amazing for just having had a baby so recently Gina!
thank you so much, friend!
Is the plan something you can buy now when you are either trying or very newly pregnant, but use later after you give birth? More clearly…Is there an expiration date or are you supposed to do it in sync with a group?
i haven’t decided how i’m going to do it yet. i’d like to have a Facebook group for everyone to check in with each other, too, so i’m thinking about launching it in march, letting it run for 12 weeks and closing it until fall and release a revamped plan + extras then.
OH! I’m glad I read this question, I’m due in March and totally thought I would be able to buy this and have it ready and waiting for me in April/May when I was released for exercise. It seemed like a 12 week plan you could start when you were ready. Guess I’ll hold off. So sad – I was really excited about this!
Hi Christine,
You can absolutely do that. Everyone who orders will receive the full plan when it launches to do on their own time when they’re ready. I’ll sell it for a while and then relaunch a new version in the fall. Once you order a copy, it’s yours forever + all future updates to the plan
My cousin is an absolute fitness hardcore, and thought she’d be diving back in like a bikini competitor. Alas, she had a change of heart after her baby and C-section. I like that this is a sustainable, phased plan. I’m going to share with my girlfriends who are expecting!
A Fit Girl Speaks: The Weightloss Trick Everyone Should Use
thank you for helping me spread the word, jill!
xoxo
This will be a wonderful resource. Congratulations on it’s impending launch! I would encourage you to include a section about diastis recti, perhaps contacting Beth Learn of Fit2Be or Kelly Dean of The Tummy Team. I am a client at Fit2Be, and am just now learning about how to close my DR – and my youngest is 4 years old.
yes, i already have a section on that one! thank you for their info- i will reach out and see if they’d be interested in contributing to the PBB site
Super excited for this!! I won’t be needing the post baby bod workouts until late May, but I already pre ordered as a way to keep myself accountable. I’m actually so excited to have a on outline of what to do since I know I will be a walking zombie after baby! Thank you Gina for all you do!! Xoxo
thank you so much for ordering, friend! i hope you love it ๐ excited for your new bundle of joy, too ๐
I’m so happy you are building this resource for us. Unforunately it’s not financially in the cards for me right now, but maybe in March. Congrats! I’m sure it wasn’t easy to get it all together with your new little taking up so much of your attention!
thank you so much cassie!
Such a great idea! From what I saw, you looked so fit and healthy throughout your entire pregnancy. I’m sure that helps with recovery, too. Is there a “during pregnancy” part of the plan?
thank you so much! yes, i’ll have tons of prenatal info on the postbabybod.com site
Thanks, Gina! I’m due with my first (baby girl) on March 29th and just pre-ordered. I’m a personal trainer as well, but just don’t have the confidence in postnatal care yet. Very excited and relieved to have a program that I trust in waiting for me. Thank you!
yay! thank you so much and i hope you love it!! i know it’s something i wish would have existed after liv was born ๐ xoxo!
I’m also due March 29th with a girl (but I’m guessing mid-march based on my history). Based on another comment – I’m confused – can I buy and do it when I’m ready or do we need to wait for the fall group? I also tried 3 different credit cards to order online and it won’t accept any of them – the credit card section just isn’t working for some reason ๐
This is so exciting as I’m about to have my first baby in the middle of February. As a marathon runner/ironman athlete I’ve taken this pregnancy to a minimum approach to stressing my body out. So this sounds like something that will be a wonderful treat to getting myself back into my pre baby body. Thanks
Also I’m in San Diego.
so so awesome! thank you for ordering ๐ i’m excited for you!
Is anyone having trouble ordering the program?? When I click “Add To Cart” it is refreshing the original page. . .
Thanks!
i’m checking with my web guy to see why that’s happening for some of you. are you on your phone or a computer?
Hey Gina!! I was just able to order on my home computer. There must have been a glitch with the computer I was using earlier. Very excited for this as I will be having my first baby in April and my sister’s wedding in June : )
oh glad it worked for you!! so excited to have you ๐
This is awesome!! I plan on pre-ordering but I had two questions before doing so;
How long are the workouts?
What type of equipment is needed?
Thanks Gina!! You are truly an inspiration. I love your personal diet/fitness methods!
all you need is pair of dumbbells. the workouts range from 30 minutes to 1 hour. the hour-long workouts are mostly when longer walks are included, and you can always break up the strength and cardio segments throughout the day
thank you so much!!! <3
Wonderful!!!! I will be pre-ordering for sure!
What a smart idea ๐
I am due in April and love this concept! The only hold back is I would like to know/ see more about the format before ordering. Is this more of a book to read, charts, tabs with sections on certain subjects?
Congrats on the release!
Hi Gina. I’ve been doing your workouts for years and this sounds like a great plan! I’m due in July and wondering if i order this now, will i be able to use it then as i noticed you said it’s launching in March? Or do you have plans to launch it again mid-year so will I have an opportunity to purchase it later? Hope that makes sense. Thanks!
hi jennie! so excited for you ๐ yes, you’ll get the full document (it’s a hefty one!) and can use it at your own pace. the full site will be launching in march with lots of bonus info, videos and posts. i will launch it in march, likely close it after 12 weeks, and re-launch with the new version in the fall. once you’re in, you get all updates to the plan for free.
xoxo
That’s great, thanks so much!
Hi Gina, I had the same question as Jennie. I am due beginning of May. So, if I understood correctly, the full document will be mine to keep and use whenever I want but the site with videos etc will only be available when you launch the rounds. So, in my case I would only be able to follow the videos in the fall?
the site is free and will have extra prenatal and postpartum info + workouts. it will always exist and won’t close down. i’ll create new versions of the plan and bonuses to go with it when i re-launch ๐
O.k. Great, thanks!
This looks like a fabulous resource Gina! I will point all my interested mommy friends in your direction. I can definitely see your passion and dedication to this project, way to go, it looks so great!
thank you so much, cara- i really appreciate it!
I don’t have any children, but I think this a super great idea for a fitness program and I can’t wait to see how it goes for all the mamas out there! : )
thank you so much, coco!
How long is each workout and what kind of equipment is needed?
the workouts range from 30 minutes to 1 hour- the hour long ones usually involve a steady state treadmill or stroller walk. you can split the workouts up during the day and all you need is a pair of dumbbells ๐
I
I love the idea of a 12 wk program. Great great idea! My postpartum work out will start in July, so I am also wondering if the site goes live in March, will I be able to start in July.
Such a great topic to share about. You look great!
thank you, friend!
You are such an inspiration! Thanks Gina!! ??
thank you for reading, katherine!
A second question. Do you get access for infinity? ;). One round? Because we all know baby weight won’t fall off in 3 months ๐
Trying to decide if it’s worth the investment!!
infinity! you’ll get the current plan when you purchase, plus all updates to the plan and bonuses from now on. ๐
Hi Gina, another question. Are the cardio workouts high-impact or more low-impact and pelvic-floor friendly?
the moves start off extremely low impact and progress to impact variations with modifications. there is an entire section on pelvic floor strengthening and tips to protect it during exercises
Wow, that sounds great!
Congratulations!! It is clear that a lot of time and heart went in to this. What an incredible resource for new moms!
Hi Gina! This looks fantastic, but I’m curious how much space is needed to do the workouts? We have a pretty tiny apartment, and I often find it hard to work out at home for that reason. Also, are there loud moves like burpees, jump squats, etc. that they would wake a baby in a small apartment? Thanks so much! Katie
you don’t need a ton of space, and initially a lot of the workouts can be completed on walks with baby while you’re out and about. there are low-impact variations for the hiit and circuit-style workouts, so if you want to keep it low impact, you should be able to do it at home while baby is asleep ๐
xoxo
Hi Gina,
Do you think this could be good for someone who is easing back into fitness…oh…18 months after her son’s birth? My son is a year and a half, but after back injuries and post partum anxiety and a body that feels way different post partum, I haven’t gotten back into the swing of things!
yes! it’s a great way to ease back into a routine
I have loved reading your blog since I discovered it about a year ago. I will not need this until Fall of this year, but love that you have put this together! I am one of those people who tries to jump back in and push too hard too fast. Is this document a download or a physical copy delivered to your home? Do you plan on having prenatal workouts available too?
I would love to subscribe to PBB if possible but can’t seem to access the site. Am I too late?
it will officially launch in march! if you click the “work out with me” link at the top of the blog, enter your email address and i’ll send an email when it’s officially available
Hey there Gina! My name is Amanda and I blog over at thisfitblonde.wordpress.com. I am also a prenatal-certified personal trainer (from the FitforBirth certification agency) and have a ton of experience working with pre-and-post-natal moms.
I’d love to guest post for you if you’re looking for experts in the area, and I love what you do here as well! Hope to hear from you soon. ๐
hey girl! i would love if you would write a few posts for the PBB site. will you email me? fitnessista at gmail dot com ๐
