Bloggies All Around
Hi guys! Howโs your weekend going??
Iโm surrounded by bloggies!
Weโre in the middle of the first session at the HLS after a glorious bfast provided by the lovely Quaker peeps.
As expected, there was oatmeal with a variety of toppings:
Pastries:
Yogurt
Tons of fruit, bagel thins and deliciousness.
I rolled with a bowl of oats w/ a scoop on Sun Warrior (from my purse), plus a banana and a macaroon topper ๐
and thenโฆ another blonde macaroon. ๐
The conference room is pretty baller (albeit creepy haha) and there are some booths set up as well.
Iโm so excited about all of the blog friends! I canโt wait to meet everyone whoโs here and to those of you who couldnโt make it, thank you for virtually joining along <3
Iโm off to the dayโs events and speaks- be back later today with a re-cap! Diana and I are teaching a Zumba class tonight and then INDIAN FEAST for dinner.
Hope you have a wonderful Saturday! <3
xoxo,
Gina

I still have not tried Indian food. What is wrong with me? ๐
There is a Indian place down the street from me and they do a lunch buffet. I’ll have to check it out and try a little bit of a few things.
it’s so fun to see all the people I “know” ๐
I just finished tweeting with “twitterHLS” – a chat for those of us that could not be there – it was fun! ๐

I am unbelievably bummed that I didn’t make more of an effort to get there when I had the chance ๐ I didn’t realize how amazing it would be, I guess…I hear it’s a blast! I am enjoying everyone’s updates though…they are making me more sad, but I feel like I am not totally missing out I guess.

And lol @ you with Sun Warrior in your purse. You’re like a protein powder smuggler ๐
Girl there is NOTHING WORSE than flying in Ohare or gasp, Midway, on a Friday. And then taking a cab or the L downtown on the Kennedy or the lovely Blue Line. With all your freakin bags. You’re travel-lagged, jet-lagged, tired, hungry, cranky and just wanna be there. And you are lugging all this freakin baggage. I know this schlep all too well and it sucks. Hugs to you, the journey can suck, I know!
As for the whole event and all the bloggies…I am jealz and wish I was there. Why didnt I just buy a ticket? I dunno. I am wishing I did though.
I love that you and Gena are roomies ๐ Do either of you snore? kidding!!
Indian food and zumba in one day must be your idea of heaven! Have fun! ๐

How awesome! I would LOVE to join you in an Indian feast and zumba!!!
Hey Gina! I had Lasik done in May of 2009 and I consider it to be one the best investments I could have given myself. I hated contacts and I loathed wearing glasses. I am very active and for 6 years worked outside as an aircraft mechanic in the Air National Guard (in Illinois!) and I dreaded the snow/rain/sleet when I wore glasses, not to mention the constant fogging up whenever I stepped into a warm building. The wind would dry my contacts out and the chlorine was not a good idea for either glasses or contacts.
Finally, I decided to suck it up and do my own research. I went to the clinic I had been reviewing and they offered a class to learn about Lasik and even allowed visitors, who signed up ahead of time, to watch a live Lasik procedure as the doctor explained step-by-step what was being done and why and what each tool was and how it worked. We got to meet the woman who was getting the Lasik and when she took her glasses off prior to the procedure, the doc asked her if she could read the clock – she said no. After the surgery, she came out and not only could she read the time, but she knew someone in the audience but was unable to see him before!!
That was all I needed to sign up! They also held a raffle for a “free eye” — haha! Sounds strange, but they discounted your surgery so it was like you were only paying for one eye surgery instead of both eyes. ๐ i did not win but it did not discourage me.
I had to wear my glasses for a few months before they would do the surgery – no contacts at all! Then they give you a valium and talk you through some stuff – it is a little nerve racking, but the procedure is literally done in 3 minutes – not even exaggerating. Plus they numb your eyes so you cannot feel a thing. they send you home with some fugly sunglasses, sleeping pills, and medicated eye drops. I had mine done at 9 am and i slept until dinner time. When I woke up I could see clear as day!! It is amazing,
I never have to worry about packing glasses/contacts when i travel – or losing one, or anything!
The only thing that bothers you is that your eyes get really dry for the first 6 months, but they give special eye drops so it is really no big deal ๐
I hope sharing my experience will help shed some light on the situation.
Like any surgery, there are risks. But if you do your research and choose and experienced eye doc, I am sure you will be in good hands — and the benefits will rock your world!
I am not sure how this comment ended up on this post – ๐ haha, I meant to post this on your Lasik post, clearly. I must’ve got click happy ๐
