The smell of [tempeh] bacon in the morningโ€ฆ

Friday!! So happy to see ya. Anything fun planned this weekend? Weโ€™re going to watch my little bro play football tonight- itโ€™s been a year since Iโ€™ve seen him play and Iโ€™m excited to cheer with the fam. Not as excited for the awkward high school flashbacks haha.

This morning, I decided to use some of the tempeh I had on hand. I got on a huge tempeh kick last weekend- I ate it with every salad bar tripโ€ฆ along with cookies, of course.

Salad

I sizzled up some tempeh bacon:

and enjoyed it in a wrap with two eggs and hot sauce.

True love right there.

Along with the tempeh, hereโ€™s what else I picked up during this weekโ€™s grocery trip (thankfully the Pilot went to TJs before I got home for a lot of staples, like eggs, chocolate, almond milk, and fruit for Liv)

Groceries

The more exciting stuff:

Groceries 2

My favorite coconut milk creamer, new Vega protein, soup, Braggโ€™s vinaigrette (usually I stay away from anything that says โ€œhealthyโ€ because it tends to be a gimmick- this dressing is amazing, though, and yes, healthy), garlic and herb Kerrygold butter (itโ€™s just as glorious as anticipated) and an organic butternut squash. Maybe Iโ€™ll even share some with Oliv ๐Ÿ˜‰ Donโ€™t be mad at me, fellow pumpkin-lovers, but I think I like b-nut squash even more than pumpkin. Thereโ€™s enough love to go around for all the fall produce, though.

Evening walk with the fam:

and the sunset with no filter- it really is that gorgeous.

Sunset

This morning, Liv is taking a nap while I clean up around the casa, and then weโ€™re meeting up with some friends. I may even take a CrossFit class this afternoon (pray for meeeeee)โ€ฆ.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

xoxo

Something to talk about: Whatโ€™s something you accomplished in September that youโ€™re proud of? For me, the biggest one was taking the chance to travel away. It may not seem like a huge deal, but it was definitely outside my comfort zone. I also kicked up my NASM studying and finally got the chance to finally do a philanthropy project that had been put on the back burner.

Would you like an October workout calendar? I made one for August, but didnโ€™t hear a ton of feedback- If you like it and think itโ€™s helpful, please let me know. If not, my feelings wonโ€™t be hurt ๐Ÿ˜‰ xo

    Hey Gina!

I just moved to PHX 2 1/2 months ago and still canโ€™t get the courage to run outside in fear of coyotes and rattlesnakes. Do you take anything with you on your run or any tips for me? ๐Ÿ™‚

      Hey Amanda!

I realize this is a few months later and I hope youโ€™ve gotten over your fears by now because Arizona is a beautiful place to run! I lived in Tucson for 19 years and Phoenix for 6 months now. I very rarely see either of those animals in Phoenix, but they were a normal sight in North Tucson. Every time Iโ€™ve been on foot or on bike and come across coyotes, I have just stopped, moved slowly and they just run awayโ€ฆ If they even notice me at all. They are really shy and I have never heard of them even getting real close to a human. If you are running on streets during the daylight, you are probably not going to get near a snake without seeing it. I have seen one on a trail, and heard them but Iโ€™ve never gotten real close without noticing. If you are nervous about coming across wildlife, just remember to stand your ground, back off slowly, and donโ€™t run away! Try to bring your phone so you can call for help in case anything does happen.

Again, I have only had experiences with wildlife in rural Tucson or in the desertโ€ฆ During the daytime in urban Phoenix, you probably donโ€™t have to worry.
