HOLY Shape Up!!! I am so thrilled that you’re as excited as I am for the challenge. Thank you so much to those of you who have already signed up! Keep an eye on your email for the password + all of the Shape Up details. You have until Friday to sign up if you haven’t already.
Along with the fun adventures of this past weekend, I also had the chance to do some cooking. I made some lactation oaties for a friend who just had twins:
(I told the Pilot he would lactate if he ate any)
sautéed BBQ zucchini to go with lunch one afternoon
and some Paleo bread for us to enjoy this week.
The bread is an almost-weekly staple; I especially love it with a smear of sunflower seed butter and drizzle of honey.
In addition to the cooking, I had a few minutes to make a sell/donate stash from our closet.
I took some clothes to Buffalo Exchange to sell and I have to say, it’s a special kind of judgment when the sales associate digs through your clothing, deciding what they’ll keep. It’s an extra special type of judgment when said clothing buyer hardly takes anything from your pile, but has a heyday with the neon Forever 21 garb from the pile next to yours. I felt very old.
Usually when I go through my closet to donate and sell items, I have a pretty good idea of what I need to take to Goodwill, and what Buffalo might take. This time I was totally off!
It’s pretty easy for me to take clothes I’ll never wear again to make room in the closet, but the tried, true (and grungy) items tend to have a longer shelf life.
I have a few t-shirts that I love to lounge around in:
my Tiger Sharks shirt, any of the Pilot’s graphic tees (I especially love sleeping in them when he’s deployed), a few race/gym shirts
(still have that shirt, 3 years later)
and anything with soft Pima cotton.
Needless to say, I was pretty stoked when Reebok sent two super comfy tees this month as part of our partnership.
They fit well, have a nice stretch to them, and the luxurious fabric made me want to cry tears of joy. I can tell I’ll be wearing them a lot!
I loved the shirts so much that I asked Reebok if they’d like to do a giveaway and was so excited when they said yes.
One lucky winner will receive one of each of these shirts:
(the short sleeve V neck and love fit tee)
All you have to do is leave a comment with your favorite T-shirt, or something in your closet you’ll always keep.
I’ll pick a random winner tomorrow (Wednesday, 5/29) at midnight EST.
Enjoy your night!
xoxo
Gina
i can’t bear to part with some of my cheesy souvenir tees that i bought while studying abroad in rome during college! i’m hoping to someday turn those shirts into a quilt 🙂
The Chargers jersey my mom used to always wear when she was still alive. I wear it during football season and will never get rid of it.
My first marathon shirt, have too many sentiments attached to it..
Ohh man those look so comfy! I LOVE t-shirts. One that I will never get rid of is my NY Yankees Jeter shirt. I was wearing it when my husband first saw me and it started our flirtatious fights about baseball (he is a red sox fan). It’s very sentimental to me 🙂
A college sweatshirt my sister got me when I graduated high school, you know, so I’d be ready. It’s way too big now, but I love to wear around the house.
I have a pair of PJ pants my husband calls my “genie pants” because they are huge and flow-y and just awesome 🙂 and I’ll never get rid of them!
My absolute favorite t-shirt that I will never part with is my Pat Benatar concert t-shirt from 1988. She’s the one who got me through my high school years.
LOVE both of these shirts. I am always looking for cute workout gear! I would have to say shoes are something I cannot get rid of. Always thinking of ways to keep them for future use!
i have a wrap around double sided skirt that my mom bought for me at a vintage dress shop when i was in high school. ill keep it forever because: i get compliments every time i wear it, it was pricey so i want to make sure i get my mother’s money’s worth and damnit, it’s a fabulous skirt.
My favorite T-shirt is a Washington University T-shirt. I did not go to school there but got it while I was running a recruiting booth for the company I was working for at the time. On the weekends you’ll likely see me lounging in it.
I’ll never get rid of my old tshirts we’d get for wearing at our schools football games. I went to university of Florida and a sucker for anything gator 🙂
I think I’ll always keep my Halloween pirate costume because that thing was so darn expensive haha
I just ran my first 5k this weekend and don’t think I will ever get rid of that Tshirt. I also love CrossFit and have been eyeing up the Love Fitness t!
My favorite t-shirts are plain t’s from Loft. So comfy and can be worn with anything!
I love a sweatshirt my little sister gave me from when she served in Iraq
i still have AE tank tops from a few years ago! they are the perfect fit and so comfy
My favorite thing in my closet is a pair of black leggings – They are comfortable, movable and match every top that I own!
were the shapeup emails sent out yet? I am not sure if I am signed up. I left a comment on yoru last post but not sure if that is correct!
My favorite tee shirt is black with good chatacters my husband brought back from Hong Kong. He purchased it on a boat in Hong Kong harbor. Softest tee i have ever owned, even after 20 years. Now hubby is ill and it also has sentimental value.
I would say my favorite items are my workout clothes, I exercise everyday and find myself just want to wear those all day:) I definitely love a good t-shirt!!!
My favorite t-shirt is an old college shirt that really should be thrown away, but it is so comfy I wear it every night for bed. The material is really hanging in there by threads!
My assortment of men’s Fruit of the Loom tanks I got years ago that I wear all the time. Bed. Gym. Lounging. You name it!
I have a tshirt from when I was in 5th grade that our whole class signed. It still fits. I’m so short! I’d love the http://shop.reebok.com/us/product/women-pwr-short-sleeve-vneck-apparel/TT393?cid=Z23227&breadcrumb=u3Z1z13xgiZ1z13070!
I love my relay for life shirts with The American Cancer Society.
The top I was engaged in! Even though I haven’t worn it in years haha
My cousins old (circa 1995?) sigma chi soccer shirt. The letters and numbers are coming off, but I’ll never part with it!
I have a torn and pretty gross-looking Diamondbacks shirt that my brother bought at a game in probably 2000 or so. My SO has tried so hard to make me throw it out, but I can’t!
I love my old tshirt from summer camp, circa 2004, with armpit holes and all! Brings back great memories.
I have an old t shirt of my daddy’s that he gave me ages ago. I will never let it go.
The cotton shirt from my first 5K. Never thought I could run 1 mile let alone 3.1!
The Yoga tee in Aqua Vapor (what a great name for a color!) is my favorite. I’d love to wear it to my yoga class.
i love my intramural shirt from college. so comfy and brings back good memories. 🙂
I have a pair of wedges I will never get rid of. It so comfy and sexy at the same time! I would wear any of the t-shirts you have. Thanks
I love the red one! Cute!
I will always, always keep my grey Creighton tee (even though it has a couple small holes in it already) because its comfy and brings back lots of good memories!
My diamondback jersey I’ve had since I was 12! And I’ll b 26 next month! Still fits me and I love it! GO DBACKS! 😀
Aw dang, missed the deadline! My favorite T is my MuteMath tee I got at their tour. Whatever cotton its made out of nourishes my soul, it’s so comfortable. I think I wear it 5-6 nights a week (i got a size too big). And I am a closet hoarder. I still have shirts from when I was in middle school.
I have issues.
<3
i think i’m too late 🙁 but just in case…my favorite t is a really soft TNA shirt i got at aritzia a couple of years ago. unfortunately (or maybe fortunately), it no longer fits well because i’ve lost a good bit of weight.
My Swim team sweatshirt from high school 🙂
Hey Gina, when you make your paleo bread, do you use a different size loaf pan or the size she says must be used?
I have an old pair of sweatpants that I inherited from a friend in college. They have my alma mater’s mascot pictured on the side, are a weird shade of white-gray, and have holes in them. But, I love them, so they aren’t going anywhere. I also love my boyfriend’s first USMC shirt that he bequeathed to me. He’s at training right now and so I wear it basically every night!
Fave t-shirt has to be my bright pink under armor workout one right now!!!
I don’t really have any clothing that I won’t eventually part with. I do have some outfits that I love to wear, that I still do wear, even though they are pretty old. I’m still trying to convince myself to donate them, but it’s tough when I still want to wear them!
My favorite T-shirt is a vintage T that I am sure I will wear holes in it before I get rid of it.
Hi Gina, have you tried Twice for selling your clothes?
They send you a prepaid bag and you just pack it and drop it at the post office. They will send you an email with a price for everything, in addition to letting you know anything they don’t want. You can accept or decline, and they deposit the money into your Paypal account. They also give you a list of the brands they accept (no Target, Forver 21). I’ve made at least $300 on clothes I would have brought to Goodwill.
no way!! i’ll do that- thank you! 🙂
Let me know what you think if you do it.
will you leave a link to your referral code so you can get credit?
Sorry, a little backed-up on my blog reading.
