Blogiversary Giveaway

Hey guys! Thank you so much for the wonderful blogiversary wishes <3 You all make this such an awesome environment with your positive energy, comments and discussions <3 <3 <3 I have so much love, appreciation and respect for all of you.

This morning, after eating my blogiversary macaroon, I had a chocolate cherry bomb.

choc cherry

I thought the day might come when I would get sick of these things.. but it hasn’t happened yet. It’s too delicious for words 😉

Cool news: Open Sky added the Glass Dharma straws to my store, just for me 🙂 They know how much I love these straws and since many of you ask where I purchased them –they’ve been a fave since last fall!- I figured it would be a great addition if any of ya’ll are in the market for some.

Next, I took the puppers to the dog park for an hour to meet my friend Lauren and her two dogs, a beagle and chihuahua. The chihuahua’s name is Bosco, and he and Bella are deeply in love. They gazed into each other’s puppy eyes and I kept Viesa on the leash to abstain from eating the chihuahua out of jealousy.

She was a good girl, though 🙂

Some of today’s eats:

vega

Vega Smoothie To-Go after my weight training sesh.

banana

Banana with almond butter and cinnamon + chai tea

And a wrap using this horseradish mustard that reader Teresa sent to me:

My nose was burning the entire time. I loved it 🙂

OMG awesome give away! Happy blog anniversary!
For me, I think being a fitnessista means making your health (both physically and mentally) a priority. Too often I’ve fallen “off the wagon” bc I thought treats and junk food were comforting. They actually made me terribly sick. When I workout, do yoga, meditate I’m happier and that in turn positively impacts my relationships. I’m less stressed and makes me a better fitness instructor. I’m calmer and that helps me take on challenges in life. We have to put ourselves first sometimes in order to nourish all the other areas in our lives. Being fit and healthy helps me accomplish this.

Congratulations! I am hoping we get to read your blog for years to come!
Being a “fittnesista” means enjoying a positive life of healthy foods, exercise- but above all listening to your body and loving yourself!

  3. Tess Moore on June 8, 2010 at 6:44 am

Congrats on your acheivements!!!! I’ve just recenlty found your blog and have totally enjoyed it for the last few weeks. To me a fitnessista is someone who cares about being healthy. Stays away from fads that only harm the body. Being concious of where your nourishment comes from and keeping your body moving! You are a great inspiration for all of these things! Tess

  4. Robin on June 8, 2010 at 6:57 am

Oh my goodness! I have been dying to try your homemade goodies! I am allergic to butter (not dairy itself though…I know, weird right?) so most “treats” are off limits to me. Vegan treats are really the only way to go for me. Anyway….fitnessista to me means someone who has a balance in life between exercise, emotional sanity, work, family etc. Basically, someone who cares about their well being from a healthy perspective and doesn’t overdo it in any category. Being healthy but living life without obsession over every calorie or exercise you do.

  5. Valentina on June 8, 2010 at 7:10 am

Fun blogiversary package! My definition of a fitnessista is someone who is savvy about how to lead a healthy lifestyle that works for them … not necessarily about dieting or marathon gym sessions. It’s about constantly wanting to learn about new ways to treat your body better, and allow yourself to live a life that involves EXACTLY what you want it to 🙂
