HOLY Shape Up!!! I am so thrilled that you’re as excited as I am for the challenge. Thank you so much to those of you who have already signed up! Keep an eye on your email for the password + all of the Shape Up details. You have until Friday to sign up if you haven’t already.
Along with the fun adventures of this past weekend, I also had the chance to do some cooking. I made some lactation oaties for a friend who just had twins:
(I told the Pilot he would lactate if he ate any)
sautรฉed BBQ zucchini to go with lunch one afternoon
and some Paleo breadย for us to enjoy this week.
The bread is an almost-weekly staple; I especially love it with a smear of sunflower seed butter and drizzle of honey.
In addition to the cooking, I had a few minutes to make a sell/donate stash from our closet.
I took some clothes to Buffalo Exchange to sell and I have to say, it’s a special kind of judgment when the sales associate digs through your clothing, deciding what they’ll keep. It’s an extra special type of judgment when said clothing buyer hardly takes anything from your pile, but has a heyday with the neon Forever 21 garb from the pile next to yours. I felt very old.
Usually when I go through my closet to donate and sell items, I have a pretty good idea of what I need to take to Goodwill, and what Buffalo might take. This time I was totally off!
It’s pretty easy for me to take clothes I’ll never wear again to make room in the closet, but the tried, true (and grungy) items tend to have a longer shelf life.
I have a few t-shirts that I love to lounge around in:
my Tiger Sharks shirt, any of the Pilot’s graphic tees (I especially love sleeping in them when he’s deployed), a few race/gym shirts
(still have that shirt, 3 years later)
and anything with soft Pima cotton.
Needless to say, I was pretty stoked when Reebok sent two super comfy tees this month as part of our partnership.
They fit well, have a nice stretch to them, and the luxurious fabric made me want to cry tears of joy. I can tell I’ll be wearing them a lot!
I loved the shirts so much that I asked Reebok if they’d like to do a giveaway and was so excited when they said yes.
One lucky winner will receive one of each of these shirts:
(the short sleeve V neckย and love fit tee)
All you have to do is leave a comment with your favorite T-shirt, or something in your closet you’ll always keep.
I’ll pick a random winner tomorrow (Wednesday, 5/29) at midnight EST.
Enjoy your night!
xoxo
Gina
My favorite t-shirt is my “make mine black” since I LOVE big black dogs and do rescue….though I rescue them all, I am partial to the ones that are most highly euthanized:)
Got a stack of old t-shirts I don’t wear but can’t seem to throw out – too sentimental.
My favorite t-shirt was my hubby’s ratty old crew neck that says “slacker”. There’s something about the worn in softness and his scent that makes me never want to part with it!
My favorite shirt is an old college shirt of my fiance’s, its so soft!
One thing I don’t think I could throw away is a tee-shirt from my first NPC competition ๐
My favorite shirts are my University of Wisconsin American Apparel tri-blend crew neck shirts. They are sooo sooo comfy AND cute ๐
American Apparel v-neck tee. So comfy and a flattering fit ๐
Win, win.
My favorite shirt actually belongs to my husband. It’s a drab green Marine Corps t shirt that he got while he was at his MOS school in Ft Leonard Wood (Missouri). He was an MP and the yellow writing on the front surrounds an EGA (Eagle Globe and Anchor) and it reads “Marine Corps Detachment Fort Leonard Wood Missouri.”
I love this shirt. Matter of fact, I’m wearing it now on my way to my CrossFit WOD!
I have a ton of t-shirts from high school I haven’t thrown out. They all remind me of something! I love new t-shirts too!
My favorite t-shirt is one of my dad’s old navy t-shirts. I’ll wear that till it falls off.
MY go to shirts are ribbed tanks! Always needed for hot and humid Miami! These shirts are so cute and right up my alley!
My favorite T is an adorable teal “I love Cupcakes” shirt from a cupcakery here in Sonoma County. It’s super cute and super comfy!
My favorite shirt varies day to day (and with the weather) but it tends to be striped.
When my husband is gone for work I steal his t-shirts and wear them too. ๐
I find it hardest to get rid of sweatshirts…right now I’m wearing one I got in the seventh grade. Haha.
“Crazy Cat Lady” organic cotton shirt I got off of Etsy this year!
Those are super cute! I love sleeping in my husband’s t-shirts too ๐
Two of my favorite t-shirts both belonged to an ex-boyfriend, haha! They’re super soft/thin band shirts. I still wear them to bed sometimes! (But just because they’re so damn comfy!)
I have an old t-shirt from playing HS volleyball that has the “braver than you believe” quote on it. I’ll never part with it. Ever.
When I ran cross-country in high school I was one of the slowest people on the team, but once at a meet we were short a bunch of people and I got the chance to race varsity (longer distance and tougher competition). I didn’t win or anything, but was so proud of myself for finally getting to run a varsity race that I bought the shirt when we went to the regional championships at the end of the season. It used to be that cheap crunchy cotton, but I’ve worn it so many times it’s ridiculously soft now, and even the crew neck has stretched out to be perfectly comfortable. That’s not going anywhere anytime soon!
My favorite shirt is the lululemon tank top I wore for my first half-marathon. It is just a plain white tank, but it will always be special to me. ๐
I’ve got a few grungy tees from my travels that I can never bring myself to throw away — especially a tiny one from Barcelona my sister got for me… pretty sure it’s a children’s size but I can still wear it to bed, right?!
Those tshirts look great! I have a long-sleeve tshirt from my marching band days (shhhh don’t laugh) that I will never get rid of. It sits in the bottom of my pj drawer and is 15 years old with my jr high/high school nickname on the sleeve. Haven’t worn it in about 12 years, but I can’t part with it!
My favorite t is a South Park shirt with Cartman on the front yelling “beefcake, beefcake, BEEFCAKE!”. it was the first gift my husband gave me while we were dating. He’s since become a more thoughtful gift giver ๐
My favourite t shirt that I’ve been keeping my my closet for WAY too long is a Moosehead Beer shirt that says ‘The Party Has Arrived’ in big block letters on the front…nowadays I typically wear it for house lounging and cottaging but it always gets a comment out of someone! So funny!
I have some Old Navy Yoga pants purchased many, many years ago. They are so faded, they should never be brought out in public, but they are my go-to when i get home from a long day and just want to shower and lounge around the house.
I have my t-ball shirt from when I was in 2nd grade and it still fits (clearly, it was huge on me then). I will neer be able to get rid of it since it’s such a fun memory!
Looking forward to the Shape UP! (commenting here because I kept getting an error on the other post)
this super soft tshirt that has where i went to college on it.
Love those! I will always keeps race shirts even though I never wear them!
My husband gave me a tee shirt when we were dating and I was moving away from him. I wear it all the time!
My favorite is one of my mom’s old work shirts. The cotton is so soft and is worn through in some spots. It’s a true blue burnout tee that took time to get there.
My ginormous Texas Tech sweatshirt! It is the only item left over from my grad school days when I was 50+ pounds heavier but when I put it on I feel like I am in a giant warm blanket and I will never get rid of it.
My favorite was my NYC marathon tshirt but I lost it (*sniff*). After that, it would be one of my dad’s old ‘Bama tshirts that I “borrowed.”
My absolute favorite shirt is from the Cupids undies run I did this year. It was a mile run and such fun! It’s red, too big, and oh so comfy! I love it!
My favorite tshirt used to be one of my fiance’s but after running and conquering the Tough Mudder he bought me a shirt that says “Remember, you signed a death waiver…Tough Mudder” and I wear it all the time. It’s bright neon green with orange writing, so you can bet I get a lot of funny looks when I wear it. Makes me feel tough ๐
I have 2 fave t-shirts. The first one is a junior high shirt that I have now had going on 15 years–which makes me feel old lol but I love it. The next one is my husbands shirt that has garfield on it that was passed down from his siblings and he has kept forever. Its soft and comfy, and has alot of sentimental value to it ๐
I have so many tees that I can’t part with. One specifically would be a deployment shirt I made with a friend that says “Sailor’s Sweetheart.” <3
I love my husbands t-shirts or anything with a vintage feel! So soft.
I love my college logo t-shirts.
My favorite t-shirts are the Target boyfriend tees. They are v-necks and have a little pocket. They are so soft and comfortable – I keep buying more and more!
I really like the love fitness t shirt!
As for my closest, I will always keep my school uniforms no matter what?! Odd, yes…
I got a t-shirt at a Lush event yeeeears ago( I was around 13 at the time I think). It says ‘ make a bee line to Lush’ on it, with a little picture of a bee . For some reason I’ve always loved it . Although it is getting pretty wrecked now, it’s so old.
Xxx
I have a T-shirt from high school that I’m pretty sure doesn’t fit anymore, but will never get tossed out!
I’ve never even worn my favorite t-shirt, it belongs to my husband’s. He got it on our honeymoon. It has Prince Charming on it and it says, “Sorry Ladies, I’m Taken”. I get all giddy when I see my husband wearing it! ๐
I will always keep 1 tshirt from college. I just graduated this past December and for some reason I only have 1 shirt left.. looks like a keeper!
I have all my race tee shirts just to prove to myself at my age I can still run.
My boyfriend’s Mumford & Sons tshirt and I steal all the time! I swear concert t’s are made with the softest cotton!
My favorite shirt was given to my husband by a friend. It’s a Napoleon Dynamite promo shirt that says, “freakin idiot, gosh!” It’s been washed so many times that it is soooo soft.
I love to steal my boyfriend’s old shirts and sleep in them, they are so comfy and anything that’s his makes me smile. ๐
Oh goodness, I’m a clothes hoarder! I will always keep this long red dress I wore to a formal with my husband back when we were dating.
