Along with the fun adventures of this past weekend, I also had the chance to do some cooking. I made some lactation oaties for a friend who just had twins:
(I told the Pilot he would lactate if he ate any)
sautéed BBQ zucchini to go with lunch one afternoon
and some Paleo bread for us to enjoy this week.
The bread is an almost-weekly staple; I especially love it with a smear of sunflower seed butter and drizzle of honey.
In addition to the cooking, I had a few minutes to make a sell/donate stash from our closet.
I took some clothes to Buffalo Exchange to sell and I have to say, it’s a special kind of judgment when the sales associate digs through your clothing, deciding what they’ll keep. It’s an extra special type of judgment when said clothing buyer hardly takes anything from your pile, but has a heyday with the neon Forever 21 garb from the pile next to yours. I felt very old.
Usually when I go through my closet to donate and sell items, I have a pretty good idea of what I need to take to Goodwill, and what Buffalo might take. This time I was totally off!
It’s pretty easy for me to take clothes I’ll never wear again to make room in the closet, but the tried, true (and grungy) items tend to have a longer shelf life.
I have a few t-shirts that I love to lounge around in:
my Tiger Sharks shirt, any of the Pilot’s graphic tees (I especially love sleeping in them when he’s deployed), a few race/gym shirts
(still have that shirt, 3 years later)
and anything with soft Pima cotton.
Needless to say, I was pretty stoked when Reebok sent two super comfy tees this month as part of our partnership.
They fit well, have a nice stretch to them, and the luxurious fabric made me want to cry tears of joy. I can tell I’ll be wearing them a lot!
I loved the shirts so much that I asked Reebok if they’d like to do a giveaway and was so excited when they said yes.
One lucky winner will receive one of each of these shirts:
(the short sleeve V neck and love fit tee)
All you have to do is leave a comment with your favorite T-shirt, or something in your closet you’ll always keep.
I’ll pick a random winner tomorrow (Wednesday, 5/29) at midnight EST.
Enjoy your night!
xoxo
Gina
One thing I could never throw away is my high school graduating class shirt. Some things are meant to stay! 🙂 The Love Fitness is a great color! 🙂
I have a red sweatshirt from college that I love… worn it to death but refuse to part with it.
I’m not particularly athletic, so my intramural badminton champion t-shirt from college will always be part of my closet! Even if it is an XXL.
At some point before I was born the lake association at our summer lake house printed t-shirts with these “now retro” graphics of swimmers and water skiers. Not only are they sentimental, but they are the real deal. I think I snagged them after they were sitting in my mom’s attic unused for a couple of years. I could never throw those gems out.
I have an old and faded Chicago Bears jersey that I will never throw away.
My favorite is from the first trip I took with my now hubby, I just can’t part with it!
I love old T-Shirts! My favorite is a royal blue one that says “Hello Minnesota” on it. It was my sister’s and then passed on to me – I would guess it’s probably 20 years old. It has a few snags in it and is getting pretty thin but I will never throw it out – even if I never wear it again it will always be in my closet.
I still have my first 5k race t-shirt from the 7th grade!! It is now 11 years old and I still wear it around the house, yet I just dropped a bag off to Goodwill with shirts that I got 2 years ago. Oh well!
Old softball cotton “jersey” from when I was in 3rd grade! It’s huge and super comfy!!
Pima Cotton! Anything that says that on the label. I do like the red reebok shirt though.
My pink comfy tee that I have had since highschool!
I love the free t-shirts I get at work. I don’t know where they order them, but they are so soft and comfy.
I love all my t-shirts!
My favorite t is one a girlfriend made for all the bridesmaids at my friends wedding. Although it says ‘bridesmaid’ accross the front it’s still super comfortable and my go to!
I have a sweat shirt from Kanakuk, a camp I went to when I was in 5th grade, that I love and still wear when I need to be warm but don’t mind getting something on it.
I love the love fitness shirt!
After I had an interview at Starbucks with a rude manager, my friend got me a tshirt that said “friends dont let friends work at starbucks” and I think Ill have to keep it forever 🙂
I will always keep my trad letters from my college sorority — i just can’t seem to part with it! I met so many great girls!
My favorite tee is a grey ARMY shirt that I stole from a boyfriend probably ten years ago. Love to sleep in it…hands down the most comfortable article of clothing that I own!
I love any v neck tee that’s super soft! I buy them anytime I’m out shopping even if I don’t “need” one
My go-to is a pair of fleecy pants that I have had for 8 years. I wear them every night when I wind down and they go everywhere with me. They have a couple small paint stains on them and a couple tiny holes in them from sitting too close to a campfire one night but I don’t mind. I will never give them up. EVER.
Right now my fav t-shirt is one my mum brought back from China. It says “I climbed the Great Wall” and I love its tacky glory. Also, waaaay nicer quality than most of the shirts that are made in China!
I have a pair of sweatpants from high school (10 years ago!!!) and I love them and will never get rid of them 🙂
I will always keep my old sorority shirts. They are so comfortable and worn in…I love them! Also, a few of my husband’s old t-shirts. They make the best sleep shirts!
I have a chicago cubs t-shirt that is all worn and soft…that will never get thrown out!
My powder puff football shirt from my sophomore year of high school will never get thrown away. It’s that perfect worn in and fits great for workouts.
I have a shirt from high school. I was a drummer/percussionist and the shirt says “Bang hard or go home.” I will always keep that gem.
I have a t-shirt from my Grandmother, that says, “It’s not easy being a princess.” The shirt is about 15 years old, has holes all over it, but it is the softest t-shirt ever! I just can’t bring myself to get rid of it…or wear it in public either lol!
I still have t-shirts from high school that are so faded you can’t even read what they say! LOVE THEM!
I have about 7 black workout capris in my closet which is WAY more than enough but I won’t get rid of any…. so comfy!
I cannot part with my middle school gym t-shirts. I wear it to bed all the time. It’s been worn so much that it has holes in the armpits and is super soft. I just can’t part with it…
My favourite t-shirt would have to be my husbands work ones. They are so big and comfy to wear around the house, and still fit over my pregnant belly, plus they are free!!
Something in my closet that I will never get rid of is a my college sweatshirt! I have had it for about 8 years and still wear it all the time! I just love how it fits and how broken in it is!
My favorite Tshirt is an old baseball shirt of my dads, its soft, big and it has my madien name on it so that makes it even more special to me.
Its so dumb but a L’Oreal kids shampoo shirt. It is kids sized and everything. But I love it for some reason so I will never get rid of it.
The thing in my closet I’ll always keep is actually a hooded sweatshirt from my high school dance team. It has my maiden name and the name of all my teammates listed on the back. I practically lived in it during dance competition season in high school, and it just brings back so many awesome memories. It’s my go-to comfy item, even if my husband teases me every time I pull it out!
I love the t shirts I’ve had for years and years, holes and all.
My favorite shirt in my closet is one that my daughter and I trade back and forth. It is white long sleeves with funky writing all over it. She is married now but we always trade it back and forth. I think we will be wearing that shirt until it unravels.
My favorite and most worn T-shirts are ones from all my college sorority’s events. They are so comfy and remind me of fun times!
I have a t-shirt that my friend gave me from a company she used to work for and it’s the softest/lightest t-shirt I’ve ever owned! It’s always my go to shirt in the summer.
My favorite tee is an old White Sox one of my dad’s – I’m not a baseball fan, but it is the most comfortable shirt in the world!!
I love this (13 year) old sweatshirt from my high school cross country team. It’s so soft and fuzzy and warm, even in its old age.
I have an old “fender guitar” t-shirt that was my husbands in JUNIOR HIGH. the pits are yellowed and the whole thing is pretty sad. And yet…it’s the comfiest thing i own. I just can’t wear it out of the house 🙂
There is a consignment shop near me that does that same thing!! The worst is when I find stuff they’ve taken from other people in the racks that they wouldn’t take from me. I feel like they are judging me based on what I brought in. It’s terrible!
I’ll never throw out a 10k race t-shirt I have from a small local race that I KILLED at a really rough time in my life. Dominating that race gave me a lot of confidence at a time when I had none.
I love my tough mudder race tshirt that I got when I did the race- I wear it proudly 🙂
That red Love Fitness Tshirt is so cute!
My favorite t-shirt is my fiance’s t-shirt he bought when he climbed Mount Everest. He gave it to me at the beginning of our relationship and I wear it when he goes away for work.
Ah, I LOVE my soft cotton ts too! I admit it, some of them i can’t help but sleep in AND wear out. Love them SO much! 🙂
I have a Gap dress that can be casual or a little nicer for date night depending on the accessories I wear with it and I can’t imagine getting rid of it!
I agree with you…I love any of my fiance’s t-shirts. The fact that they are much too large for me makes them even better. I also sprayed them with his cologne and wore them to bed while he was deployed. No shame haha. In fact, I may still be hoarding some of them…:)
I have several T-shirts that I just can’t bear to part with.. mostly old athletic shirts from high school. After all these years, they are perfectly worn in and soft!
