Along with the fun adventures of this past weekend, I also had the chance to do some cooking. I made some lactation oaties for a friend who just had twins:
(I told the Pilot he would lactate if he ate any)
sautรฉed BBQ zucchini to go with lunch one afternoon
and some Paleo breadย for us to enjoy this week.
The bread is an almost-weekly staple; I especially love it with a smear of sunflower seed butter and drizzle of honey.
In addition to the cooking, I had a few minutes to make a sell/donate stash from our closet.
I took some clothes to Buffalo Exchange to sell and I have to say, it’s a special kind of judgment when the sales associate digs through your clothing, deciding what they’ll keep. It’s an extra special type of judgment when said clothing buyer hardly takes anything from your pile, but has a heyday with the neon Forever 21 garb from the pile next to yours. I felt very old.
Usually when I go through my closet to donate and sell items, I have a pretty good idea of what I need to take to Goodwill, and what Buffalo might take. This time I was totally off!
It’s pretty easy for me to take clothes I’ll never wear again to make room in the closet, but the tried, true (and grungy) items tend to have a longer shelf life.
I have a few t-shirts that I love to lounge around in:
my Tiger Sharks shirt, any of the Pilot’s graphic tees (I especially love sleeping in them when he’s deployed), a few race/gym shirts
(still have that shirt, 3 years later)
and anything with soft Pima cotton.
Needless to say, I was pretty stoked when Reebok sent two super comfy tees this month as part of our partnership.
They fit well, have a nice stretch to them, and the luxurious fabric made me want to cry tears of joy. I can tell I’ll be wearing them a lot!
I loved the shirts so much that I asked Reebok if they’d like to do a giveaway and was so excited when they said yes.
One lucky winner will receive one of each of these shirts:
(the short sleeve V neckย and love fit tee)
All you have to do is leave a comment with your favorite T-shirt, or something in your closet you’ll always keep.
I’ll pick a random winner tomorrow (Wednesday, 5/29) at midnight EST.
Enjoy your night!
xoxo
Gina
I have wayyyyy too many t-shirts from high school (hello, class of ’94) that need to go but I just can’t seem to part with them. Hoarder much???
I love my flip flops and would never get rid of them! My TOMS too.
I actually have a belt from when I was little (like 6 or 7 years old) that I will never give away. It reminds me of my childhood, and I hope that one day, when I have (hopefully) a daughter, she can wear it. I can’t believe I’ve kept it for so long!
I love my Trinity College shirt I got in Dublin – my souveneir from the Dublin marathon 2012.
I’ve become really partial to my husband’s old college shirt that I use to sleep in. He still hasn’t figured out where I hide it from him so I can wear it at night. ๐
I love wearing the T-shirt from my first race about 20 years ago. The Crescent City Classic 10K in New Orleans. That race changed my behavior in a very good way.
I’m with you! I love to wear my boyfriends oversized and grungy tees … there’s just something about them!
LOVE the “love fitness” shirt!
My favorite shirt is a tee shirt from college that is completely falling apart from use. I keep trying to hide it at the bottom of my pile of tee shirts so I don’t wear it so much… but after a long day I always end up digging through the pile to find it.
My wedding dress is something I will always have. lol
Michigan Awesome t shirts. comfy and cute sayings about the state!
I have this old sweatshirt from my Fiancee’s Army Bootcamp. It is the UGLIEST thing ever, but I cut the collar out when I first *borrowed* it, and live in it on super lazy days so incredibly comfy.
I created a shirt for a relay race I did with my husband, sister, and brother-in-law that was so much fun. It incorporates two of our favorite things — running and traveling with our team name as “Traveling Fools”. It’s been a perfect comfy/workout shirt since with a lot of meaning.
The two main staples in my closet are my solid colored long and lean camis from target and my black cardigan that can be paired with almost anything.
I love anything soft and stretchy…which usually comes after it has been well loved and well worn ๐
My favorite tee would probably be one from high school that says “Property of Crusader’s Football” – my best friends and I were the “managers” of our high school football team, which was basically an excuse to leave school early on game days and look at cute boys, so we got these teeโs. We had so much fun though just being teenagers and with my 10 year reunion this year (eek!) I am becoming increasingly more nostalgic…
I love wearing my race shirts! ๐
I will also keep a tshirt that has a pic of my highschool class on the front & all my classmates signatures on the back! Such a great keepsake idea! Its so old & soft! Love sleeping in it!
I will always keep my field hockey tee shirt from high school…even if it is over 10 years ago!
I still have a dress my first boyfriend bought me over 20 years ago…doubt it still fits, but I can’t seem to get rid of it!
Two things I’ll always keep: a black, loose, super comfy tee that belonged to my Aunt before she passed away, and a sweatshirt my dad owned in his younger days (it was painted with this great 80s abstract art by one of his artist friends.)
Oh and I tend to keep my concert tees even if I’ve never worn them, simply because they’re memories. And they cost an arm and a leg ha.
I will always keep a soccer t-shirt from my middle school soccer days! It’s so worn in, but ridiculously comfy!
I still have my dress from my sweet 16 party, which was 16 years ago!
My new favorite is a t-shirt from a running store we found in San Francicso, so comfy and fun! I just need to break it in more ๐
I feel the same, some comfy tshirts I’ve had for YEARS and I still love them to lounge around in and keep them every time I go through my closet to donate clothes.
I just rewarded myself for my first marathon a week ago by getting a 26.2 shirt from oiselle. Then I spilled juice all over it – hoping it comes out in the wash!
My high school grad t-shirt I still wear regularly to the gym for workouts. Fits just right to work out in.
My favorite t-shirt which says ‘I left my heart in London’!
I have an old college hoodie that is worn beyond recognition, but I won’t let it go!
I am obsessed with a t-shirt I got from my internship in college. Nothing really special about it, just fits really well and is totally worn in. It’s got a hole in it but I can’t get rid of it!
I used to work with the Army and have several Army PT shirts that I absolutely love to wear – so comfy and soft!
I have a fave pair of sweatpants that I just can’t get rid of! so comfy. It’s a shame they aren’t considered “office-appropriate”
My favorite t-shirt is my sorority bid day tee from 2002.. 11 years old and still kicking!
My favorite t-shirts are any of my husbands! I love huge t-shirts.
My sister is 17 years older than me. When I was very little, she moved to Japan after college. I stole one of her T-shirts. Back then it was way to big and I slept in it every night. Now it fits just right and it still one of my favs!
My favourite t-shirt is from Gap: their t-shirts are always soooo soft, I wear them all the time to sleep, so comfy!
I love my rec leader t-shirts, super soft after only a few washes!
My favorite t-shirt is one I bought at the Disney Wine& Dine expo a couple of years ago. It is from Raw Threads and it is soooo soft.
My fav tshirts are my boyfriends… Usually the ones that are so thin they are almost see thru! They are so soft and comfy!
I have a “Think Pink” shirt that we all wore on the days when our friend had chemo. It’s huge and faded but it’s a keeper!
My favorite pair of jeans!!! They are old, but so perfect. They fit just right in all the right places! ๐
I’ll never throw away the first t-shirt my boyfriend ever gave me of his. Yes, corny I know!
I love the “Love Fitness” T-shirt!
I can never get rid of my high school sports T-shirts! Reminds me of the sports that got me into fitness in the first place and why it is so important to me. I love the Reebok tees!!
My favorite tee I always seem to be lounging in is ironically a reebok t-shirt. I got it a while ago from a sporting goods store. It’s so comfy I use it as pajamas insead of working out in!
My favorite tshirts are definitely old oversized sleep shirts. Even when they get holes its hard to give them up! The cotton becomes way softer after 10 years ๐
Love those Reebok tees!
I’ve cut some of my hubby’s old sports tees into racerback tanks that I use when I’m bumming around home or at the gym early on a Sunday morning (when no one’s there to see me) — they’re big and baggy, but I kinda love them ๐
I have an ancient t-shirt that belonged to my husband from his cross-country days that is JUST the right amount of soft. I love to wear it to the gym, around the house…pretty much whenever. I’d love to win one of these though, because then he wouldn’t get so mad at me for stealing his stuff. ๐
I love my old Jimmy Buffett concert t-shirt, completely worn out and soft! I only sleep in it but it reminds me some crazy fun summer nights!
M~
My favorite shirt is a long sleeved t-shirt I bought from my nephews’ football teams when they were 6, 9 & 12. It is so soft and I’ve lost weight since I got it so its extra comy now. Whenever I wear it I think of how cute they were and how much fun I had cheering for them. They are all teenagers now :-\ lol
