Along with the fun adventures of this past weekend, I also had the chance to do some cooking. I made some lactation oaties for a friend who just had twins:
(I told the Pilot he would lactate if he ate any)
sautรฉed BBQ zucchini to go with lunch one afternoon
and some Paleo breadย for us to enjoy this week.
The bread is an almost-weekly staple; I especially love it with a smear of sunflower seed butter and drizzle of honey.
In addition to the cooking, I had a few minutes to make a sell/donate stash from our closet.
I took some clothes to Buffalo Exchange to sell and I have to say, it’s a special kind of judgment when the sales associate digs through your clothing, deciding what they’ll keep. It’s an extra special type of judgment when said clothing buyer hardly takes anything from your pile, but has a heyday with the neon Forever 21 garb from the pile next to yours. I felt very old.
Usually when I go through my closet to donate and sell items, I have a pretty good idea of what I need to take to Goodwill, and what Buffalo might take. This time I was totally off!
It’s pretty easy for me to take clothes I’ll never wear again to make room in the closet, but the tried, true (and grungy) items tend to have a longer shelf life.
I have a few t-shirts that I love to lounge around in:
my Tiger Sharks shirt, any of the Pilot’s graphic tees (I especially love sleeping in them when he’s deployed), a few race/gym shirts
(still have that shirt, 3 years later)
and anything with soft Pima cotton.
Needless to say, I was pretty stoked when Reebok sent two super comfy tees this month as part of our partnership.
They fit well, have a nice stretch to them, and the luxurious fabric made me want to cry tears of joy. I can tell I’ll be wearing them a lot!
I loved the shirts so much that I asked Reebok if they’d like to do a giveaway and was so excited when they said yes.
One lucky winner will receive one of each of these shirts:
(the short sleeve V neckย and love fit tee)
All you have to do is leave a comment with your favorite T-shirt, or something in your closet you’ll always keep.
I’ll pick a random winner tomorrow (Wednesday, 5/29) at midnight EST.
Enjoy your night!
xoxo
Gina
Try as I might, I can’t let go of my high school softball sweatshirt. More than the fabric are the memories with my team of sisters
There’s my husband’s white undershirt that he totally shrunk the first time he washed it.. I’ve had it for years – it’s super soft and a perfect fit!
My favorite tshirt to this day is a Villanova tshirt I bought freshman year of college when a bunch of boys randomly knocked on our dorm door to sell them. Sure, we may have only bought them because we were awkward freshman who cam from all girls schools and had no idea how to talk to boys, but boy do I love that shirt STILL! I’ll never ever part with it.
I love my husband’s T-Shirts! Especially when he is out of town!
My hubby’s white v-neck undershirt ๐
What size are you wearing in the love fitness t-shirt? I’m not sure if I’m a XS or S, but am probably your size…
My favorite tee: A Dispatch concert shirt from their “final” concert in Boston that my sister and I took a road trip to see–my favorite t-shirt, favorite concert, and favorite memory with my sister.
My favorite t-shirt is almost as old as I am. It is dark blue and says “Navy Medicine, Oakland, California” on it from my dad’s time as a Navy doctor. We lived in California for about 4 years, where my little brother was born, and I’ll never forget those years living on base! I’m pretty sure that shirt will stay with me forever!
My favorite T-shirt is one from some random fraternity party in college (read: super old) but it has a paint stain on it from when I was paintind mydaughters nursery before she was born…. I can still see the picture of my in it with the cotton stretched tight across my belly. I’ll never throw it away!
My favorite t-shirt is one that I bought while on my honeymoon with my husband- super soft and full of great memories.
I have an old pair of faded Levi 501 jeans that my college roommate “handed down” to me. I will keep them forever!
I think my favorite shirt (ok, 2 favorite shirts) has to be the” finisher” shirt I purchased when I ran the Miami Marathon 2 yrs ago — it’s so soft. I also love the American Eagle plain t-shirts, with the v neck they fit perfect.
I love all of my basic white t-shirts – my husband is always amused when it takes me ten minutes to figure out which one to wear, but white t-shirts mean summer time to me!
I’ll never part with my favorite Iowa Native t which always reminds me of home
Shout out to Iowa!! ๐ I love my home state!
I think the red t-shirt is fantastic!
Woot! Another Iowa girl over here.
Had to comment. ๐
Had to comment as well – Shout out to Iowa!
My t-shirts stick around for quite a while. Once they are past their “wear in public” phase they move to the PJ drawer. Lots of Girls on the Run t-shirts and 5k race shirts.
I have a tee from my highschool that is SO comfy. It’s gone in the get rid of pile many times, but i just can’t do it.
I have t-shirts from my different years on dance team that I just can’t part with despite the fact that most barely fit. I steal my younger brother’s worn in football shirts though because I like reppin’ my home town annddd they happen to be perfectly oversized and super soft : )
College and sorority shirts are still under my bed at my parent’s house. I just can’t get rid of them – and neither can they. My favorite shirt right now is from a cute little boutique in Maui called Alice in Hulaland. The shirt is blue and in block letters it says PAIA – the name of the town. It’s soft and comfy and if it were acceptable to wear the same shirt everyday I would :).
I got most of my favorite t-shirts for free on campus (they were being handed out to promote orgs or events)!
I’ll never get rid of my Penn State football shirt that fits perfectly despite repeated washings. Found it at a thrift store in high school!
I have a long sleeve t from a race 6 years ago that I can’t give up. It is so stinkin cozy that I just can’t part with it.
I love black! This season I’m also into all the neon colors though!
Any T-shirt from American Appearal. So soft!
I have all my Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure t-shirts (been doing the 5k every year w/ my mom since it started in her hometown – over 15 yrs).
I love all of my long-sleeve sorority t-shirts from college. They are so comfy and keep me warm when I’m lounging around the house.
I have a Martha’s Vineyard sweatshirt that is hard not to wear on a daily basis!
I kept ALL of my high school sports T’s. I always thought I would make a blanket out of them and haven’t yet. The older the softer the material! LOVE that!
I have to agree with a quite a few others; i have a ton of high school tshirts that i refuse to give up!
My school of medicine hoodie. Super, super soft (plus it’s always FREEZING in our classrooms!), and it makes me feel proud to be able to finally wear it ๐
I love Pima cotton too! My husband’s latest Warrior Dash t-shirt is my current fave.
I have so many t-shirts from playing 10 years of club, high school, and college volleyball, plus whatever rec league or tournament shirts I get now. I tried to edit down to the most meaningful/cool shirts but I still have a ton!
Right now my favorite tee is one that my sweetie surprised me with…it has the logo of this concert promotion company whose events we always go to. It’s super soft and I always think of him when I wear it.
I love my AE sweats! So comfy!!
My family loves Disneyland. So anything from Disneyland I know I can wear again and again because we will be going again and again…
I have a great jcrew vintage tee I’m loving right now.
My favorite T is from college…8 years ago!
I have an old v-neck from Old Navy that fits perfectly and looks so good with a pair of jeans. It’s so thin and soft and comfy!
I have a hard time getting rid of t-shirts, even though I have too many. Soft comfy ones are especially hard to get rid of.
I have a tshirt from my very first swim meet at a “big kid pool” at Miami University. There are holes on the sleeves and the design is faded beyond recognition, but it’s so soft and it reminds me of how proud I was that day!
Ironically I just cleaned out our walk-in closet this afternoon. Wow did I get rid of a lot of stuff! I had a TON of old t-shirts (old as in high school or even before…) and other old clothes that I’m now sending to GoodWill. Why is it so hard to get rid of clothes that I never wear?!
Ill never get ride of my highschool soccer shirts. I Like the red ones ๐
I have a t-shirt from my honeymoon in Mexico and I will never get rid of it! It is grungy for sure!
Love that red shirt.
I’ll NEVER part with all the tacky t-shirts that I’ve worn during our military events like fun runs or Wounded Warrior support groups (I’m active duty Navy medic). They usually have a shark wrestling an anchor or an ugly beefed up guy with a big gun running through mud if you’re with the Marines. They’re so much fun and I’ve always been so proud at the end of each race!
I have a 3/4 sleeve super soft shirt that ive worn since I was a kid (I wore it as a night shirt then). It was my dads baseball shirt so extra special.
My first 5k shirt. It is so ugly but something I just can’t part with.
My favorite tee is an old, super soft Detroit Lions shirt. I love to wear it during football season just to bug my hubby, who is a loyal Minnesota Vikings fan ๐
My husband has these shirts from when he worked at this gym in high school they are holy but I loooove them
I have one t-shirt that I hope never loses its softness! Locally Grown with the state of Iowa written on it – so soft and it makes me so proud showing my home state roots!! ๐
I have this XXL t-shirt that I got in 1995 when I participated in my very first 25KM bike race with my dad! I was 10 yrs old, and even got it signed by a (now ex) hockey player that was there at the event. It is so old, doesn’t fit, and is a completely different colour after so many washes, but I just can’t bear to part with it!
My current favourite is an Oiselle T-shirt with running distances printed on the front.
When I get bored with my T-shirts but are not willing to give them up yet, I store them in a plastic container. Months or years from now, I take them out and wear them again.
