HOLY Shape Up!!! I am so thrilled that you’re as excited as I am for the challenge. Thank you so much to those of you who have already signed up! Keep an eye on your email for the password + all of the Shape Up details. You have until Friday to sign up if you haven’t already.
Along with the fun adventures of this past weekend, I also had the chance to do some cooking. I made some lactation oaties for a friend who just had twins:
(I told the Pilot he would lactate if he ate any)
sautéed BBQ zucchini to go with lunch one afternoon
and some Paleo bread for us to enjoy this week.
The bread is an almost-weekly staple; I especially love it with a smear of sunflower seed butter and drizzle of honey.
In addition to the cooking, I had a few minutes to make a sell/donate stash from our closet.
I took some clothes to Buffalo Exchange to sell and I have to say, it’s a special kind of judgment when the sales associate digs through your clothing, deciding what they’ll keep. It’s an extra special type of judgment when said clothing buyer hardly takes anything from your pile, but has a heyday with the neon Forever 21 garb from the pile next to yours. I felt very old.
Usually when I go through my closet to donate and sell items, I have a pretty good idea of what I need to take to Goodwill, and what Buffalo might take. This time I was totally off!
It’s pretty easy for me to take clothes I’ll never wear again to make room in the closet, but the tried, true (and grungy) items tend to have a longer shelf life.
I have a few t-shirts that I love to lounge around in:
my Tiger Sharks shirt, any of the Pilot’s graphic tees (I especially love sleeping in them when he’s deployed), a few race/gym shirts
(still have that shirt, 3 years later)
and anything with soft Pima cotton.
Needless to say, I was pretty stoked when Reebok sent two super comfy tees this month as part of our partnership.
They fit well, have a nice stretch to them, and the luxurious fabric made me want to cry tears of joy. I can tell I’ll be wearing them a lot!
I loved the shirts so much that I asked Reebok if they’d like to do a giveaway and was so excited when they said yes.
One lucky winner will receive one of each of these shirts:
(the short sleeve V neck and love fit tee)
All you have to do is leave a comment with your favorite T-shirt, or something in your closet you’ll always keep.
I’ll pick a random winner tomorrow (Wednesday, 5/29) at midnight EST.
Enjoy your night!
xoxo

My favorite shirt that I will never throw away is actually my hubby’s Army/Navy shirt (Go Army!) that is two sizes too big for me. I love wearing it though, especially when he’s away–it’s comforting.
Love the v-neck tee. Well both really.
I do not wear them and can not bring myself to ever get rid of a certain pair of shoes. They are big and bulky and I love them. I went on a high school trip to Paris(too many years ago) and found a great shop on the Champs Elysees. It was my first real step into my shoe obsession.
Love the pink fitness shirt 🙂
I have this amazingly soft Kansas City Royals shirt that is way too big for me but I can’t seem to get rid of it. It’s just so soft!
I love and will always keep my high school volleyball t-shirt. It’s broken in with just enough holes. Hope to win some comfy new ones, though.
I love both of the shirts. They look very lightweight and comfy!
Something I will always keep in my closet is my senior prom
dress. It is a good gauge for weight gain/loss lol.
I also will keep my college and sorority tees- too many memories with those, plus they could be fun to pass down to the next generation?!
My fave tee is an American apparel track shirt my bf got me for Xmas that says coffee cupcakes wine!
My husband (then boyfriend) gave me a t-shirt with a dachshund puppy printed on it for my 25th birthday. Now, it’s five years later, we’re married and have a real dachshund of our own 🙂 I love that t-shirt, it’s so special to me.
I have a shirt from a convention I went to in 1999 that I still love and wear. Somehow it doesn’t have any holes or stains yet but it’s very faded and practically see through. Best tshirt ever!
My hubby and I are moving soon, so I’ve been rifling through clothes trying to find things to sell or donate…
I’ve parted ways with my senior prom dress (donated it to an organization that gets prom attire to low-income girls). I’ve parted ways with all of my Express dress button-downs from my previous life as a super-professional dresser.
But I can’t part with a few things: the eighth-grade graduation dress my mom made for me; the bridesmaid’s dress my mom made for me for her wedding; and all of my race shirts (which I hope to make into something one day), including my high-school cross country team shirt. I wasn’t on the team as a runner (I was close to 200 lbs.), but I was the manager for three years, and I loved that team like family. That shirt is about 4 sizes too big and stained and ratty, but so, so meaningful.
I love my old high school graduation t shirt! it’s so comfy, i wish i had more than one
My favorite t-shirt is my “maize out” shirt from football season at Michigan! Nostalgia 🙂
I have a super comfy cotton t that I love!
a race shirt in size XL that i sleep in. Comfiest shirt IN THE WORLD. Also my Athleta “luscious tee” which is the comfiest longsleeve i’ve ever owned. It has weird markings on it from tons and tons of washing, but i’ll keep it forEVER!!!!
all my college tshirts.
I’m only a sophomore but I’m sure that all these unnecessary clothing items will keep their worth in my heart for all the memories that they’re associated with 🙂
My favorite tshirt is an Old Navy comfy T with the 90210 logo on it. It’s super comfy and advertises my favorite guilty pleasure.
I have a tie dye shirt that’s shrunken from too many washes. I made it with the kids that I nannied for so it holds a special place in my heart.
I have a “Keep Calm and Bobcat On” shirt from my college alumni organization (Go OU Bobcats!). It’s my favorite and my go-to lounging shirt.
My husband has these red track pants that he always wants to give away. However, they were they pants he would always wear in the dorms at college and it is how I first remember meeting him. I even wear them time to time. I will keep them forever if I can because they bring back such good memories.
Just like you and the pilot’s shirts, I have a boyfriend tshirt I love to sleep in. We are a Pittsburgh – Philly couple and nights are rough! Nothing like a big tshirt to sleep in 🙂 <3
I have a grungy gray tshirt from the Gap that I bought years ago and I don’t want to part with – it’s so soft and perfect for lounging around and sleeping!
I have a tie dyed shirt with my fav number “13” on it. love it.
Even though it is old, ratty, and pit-stained, I will never part with my 2001 New York Marathon shirt that my cousin gave me. It has a U.S. flag on the front and on the back says, “United we run.” It is from just a couple months after 9/11 and it is a good reminder for me of a stressful time for our country and my family.
my favorite thing in my closet is a pair of hanes sweatpants. not very glamorous, but it’s soo comfy!
I will never give up my Drexel University sweatshirt! Go DRAGONS!!!
My favorite t-shirt is a simple black vneck that fits perfectly and is just a classic piece. Love it!
I have an old shirt that my best friend made me in college – it looks so old and ratty I could never wear it out of the house, but I absolutely love it! 🙂
LOVE the look of the shirts!
I still have a comfortable school logo-ed t-shirt from like a decade ago that I still wear, haha
My sweatpants. There’s a hole in the crotch, but I don’t care. They will never leave my dresser!
I love my lounge pants – especially when I’m snuggling with my girls!
I’ll always keep the Stonehenge Science Fair T-shirt I got in sixth grade…luckily I haven’t worn it much in the last 16 years!
I have a t shirt I found in my high school band closet from 1985. After washing it several times that shirt has become my favorite. I still wear it to bed 10 years later!
I have a few sentimental tees that I don’t think I’ve even worn in the past 3+ years but just can’t throw out– too many fun memories! I’m also a sucker for any supersoft tee, especially oversized one to sleep in.
I have a white calvin klein v-neck (taken from my boyfriend’s clothes) that I love sleeping in. It’s huge on me and so comfy! It’s seen better days for sure, but I love it.
Faded college t-shirts!
I still have a sweatshirt from the first college I attended as a freshman- I got it when I was a junior in high school and visited the school. The sleeves are getting pretty ratty but I won’t give it up!
Love the white short sleeve v-shirt!
I don’t think I could give up my comfy college hoodie. It’s just too cozy!
I have an old grey hoodie that is my favorite. I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to give it up.
I love the men’s v-neck t-shirts from target! the material is so soft and they have that great worn-in feel to them that’s hard to find on a new shirt. they’re less fitted than the women’s shirts so I stock up when they have a sale!
I have a tshirt of my dad’s, who passed away 2 years ago from cancer. I gave it to him a long time ago, and I picked it from his closet, and hug it when I’m missing him!
I have held on to a pair of jeans (Citizens!) that I have not been able to fit into comfortably for the past few years. So glad that I kept as I just tried them on and they fit. Yay me!
I love your give aways! So excited for Summer Shape Up. You always do such a great job.
My favorite t-shirt is my ZonaZoo UofA Wildcats t-shirt from my senior year of college. It has pulled late nighters with me and continues to do so throughout my MBA studies. It has had “who-knows-what” spilled all over it, Cheba Hut food dropped on it, and it continues to cling to life! Haha… besides the ever expanding hole in the armpit. =)
I can never give up my college alma mater sweats. they are still the best to lounge in!
I have some old tshirts that I got made with friends at overnight camp. They’ll never go!
My Rock Band shirts from high school, and I have a shirt from 6th grade that had all my fellow classmates names in our own signatures. I tend to sleep in t-shirts till they have holes there just to worn in and soft to get rid of lol!
An old, blue soft v neck from the gap. It’s my weekend uniform.
my overalls!
I have a comfy american apparel v-neck that I always wear, it has holes under the arms haha. I just can’t get rid of it for sleeping in 🙂
