Along with the fun adventures of this past weekend, I also had the chance to do some cooking. I made some lactation oaties for a friend who just had twins:
(I told the Pilot he would lactate if he ate any)
sautรฉed BBQ zucchini to go with lunch one afternoon
and some Paleo breadย for us to enjoy this week.
The bread is an almost-weekly staple; I especially love it with a smear of sunflower seed butter and drizzle of honey.
In addition to the cooking, I had a few minutes to make a sell/donate stash from our closet.
I took some clothes to Buffalo Exchange to sell and I have to say, it’s a special kind of judgment when the sales associate digs through your clothing, deciding what they’ll keep. It’s an extra special type of judgment when said clothing buyer hardly takes anything from your pile, but has a heyday with the neon Forever 21 garb from the pile next to yours. I felt very old.
Usually when I go through my closet to donate and sell items, I have a pretty good idea of what I need to take to Goodwill, and what Buffalo might take. This time I was totally off!
It’s pretty easy for me to take clothes I’ll never wear again to make room in the closet, but the tried, true (and grungy) items tend to have a longer shelf life.
I have a few t-shirts that I love to lounge around in:
my Tiger Sharks shirt, any of the Pilot’s graphic tees (I especially love sleeping in them when he’s deployed), a few race/gym shirts
(still have that shirt, 3 years later)
and anything with soft Pima cotton.
Needless to say, I was pretty stoked when Reebok sent two super comfy tees this month as part of our partnership.
They fit well, have a nice stretch to them, and the luxurious fabric made me want to cry tears of joy. I can tell I’ll be wearing them a lot!
I loved the shirts so much that I asked Reebok if they’d like to do a giveaway and was so excited when they said yes.
One lucky winner will receive one of each of these shirts:
(the short sleeve V neckย and love fit tee)
All you have to do is leave a comment with your favorite T-shirt, or something in your closet you’ll always keep.
I’ll pick a random winner tomorrow (Wednesday, 5/29) at midnight EST.
Enjoy your night!
xoxo
Gina
I have a stash of UNC shirts from college that I never ever wear, but refuse to get rid of. Go Tar Heels!!!
I slept in Patrick’s shirts when he was deployed too. Its really special when you’re so pregnant you no longer fit into your husbands shirts haha. I just preferred to be thankful that he’s slim and in shape rather than focus on the obvious negative there. ๐
Love my PINK v-neck Tigers tee from Victoria’s Secret. It’s wrecked, but it’s so comfy I’ll never get rid of it ๐
I still have an insanely comfortable Lifehouse shirt that I got my sophomore year in high school when I saw them in concert. It brings back some great memories ๐
I love my breast cancer awareness t-shirt I bought 7 years (yes I just admitted that) ago. It’s such a great cause and it’s super cute ๐
I have a size 2x tshirt and a pair of size 18 jeans that I have not been able to wear in about three years since I lost almost 70 lbs. I keep them as a reminder of how far I have come.
My fiancรฉ’s undershirts- I love sleeping in them!
I’m so bad with t-shirts, I keep them forever! My favorites are from gymnastics competitions–and I haven’t competed since high school. ๐
I have a long-sleeved, thin cotton v-neck that I love lounging around in. The material is thin enough to keep me cool, but the long-sleeves also come in handy when it’s chilly in the early morning!
I have had a pink and white zip up hoodie from American Eagle for 8 years… I still wear it despite the holes because it is super soft!
T-shirt from my First 5K run( rather my first race ever ) – it’s 4 yrs old , but I still run in it on my short runs … It’s too sentimental to throw it away….
BTW does the Paleo bread taste too eggy ?? ( I am not sure if it’s the right word to use… ๐ )
My favorite is a long-sleeve tshirt from Civinettes in high school…it’s so soft and worn in that I could never get rid of it!
I have this disgustingly beat up sweatshirt, I think it was a hand-me-down from someone, that I cannot even dream of giving up!
My fave t-shirt is a soft grey one from Tyler’s in Austin. It’s a size larger than my regular t-shirts, so it’s great for lounging around and sleeping. ๐
I have a faded purple sorority tee that I love to wear (not out….). I’m not in college anymore and it’s kinda grunge, but SO COMFY! ๐
I have a sweet bright yellow and rainbow t-shirt that was my dad’s back in the 70’s with mnt. Rushmore on it (he worked there for a summer) that is unbelievably comfy and obviously super awesome! That sucker will never leave my drawers!
I love my old high school tshirts! Not only do they bring back great memories but they’re also sooo comfy from being washed way too many times.
The dirtiest, most beat up Florida State sweatshirt. It goes on immediately, post shower, and hubby always complains about how gross it is. Too bad it’s not going anywhere anytime soon!
Oh, I think I would love the black and white one. I love comfy tshirts too.
I’m the WORST about keeping old t-shirts. I have a light blue one that I stole from my mom years ago. I sleep and lounge in it all the time because it’s SO soft.
I will never, ever part with my sweatpants. It’s a bit less socially acceptable to wear them out in public now than it was in college, but they’ll always be waiting for me when I come home after a rough day at the office!
I will always own my spice girls concert t shirt from when my dad took me to the show. I don’t wear it anymore (what would people think!?) but the memories are unforgettable.
I like the red Reebok tee best, looks super cozy.
My favorite item has to be my Love Pink heather grey hoodie from Victoria’s Secret. I got it back when I was in college and I’m still wearing it! It’s been through a lot, and I wear it all the time when I’m on call at the hospital. There’s just something comforting about wearing this hoodie…kind of like a safety blanket!
My favorite shirts are all my fiances! I love bigger shirts! They’re just so comfy:)
I still have my senior girls shirt that I wear ALL the time to bed. It is super comfy, well lived in and has great memories. Who cares that it is almost 10 years old…
My Zona Zoo shirts from college will stay forever! I’ll sport my wildcat pride any day!
I still have my senior girls shirt that I wear ALL the time to bed. It is super comfy, well lived in and has great memories. Who cares that it is almost 10 years old…
I still have a UC Davis sweatshirt that I found while working at Starbucks 18 years ago. It has lasted through 2 pregnancies and is still my go-to favorite. It is just the right amount of heaviness and softness that is hard to find! I also have an old orange and purple (hideous) “Hurley” t-shirt that I wear to spin class because it is so light. The pit stains and smells are no longer coming out in the wash, so I could really use a new workout shirt or two ๐
My favorite t shirts are previous race shirts. Nothing like having a memory tied to a shirt ๐
My husband’s t-shirts, because they are so comfy and sexy at the same time.
I have some ridiculously comfy tshirts that are pretty threadbare by now. Every time I move or get rid of clothing, they still seem to make the cut (hideous high school logo or not).
Currently, my favorite shirt is a short-sleeved orange t-shirt with a v-neck. It is so comfortable that I would wear it every day that I could. It’s casual, yet has a little flower design along the right side so that it’s a little dressy too. It looks good with jeans, capris, and shorts – everything. I actually bought it last fall on clearance at a store on a whim, and now it’s one of my favorite shirts!
My favorite is a Nike tshirt that says “mark, get set, see ya later”. ๐
my favorite shirts is actually an old shirt of my husbands from 20 years ago, it’s so comfy! lol
I keep all my race tshirts but never wear them. I just can’t part with them even though most of them aren’t comphy and don’t fit well. I prefer more stylish tees or tanks to work out in;)
I will always keep a sunflower summer dress my grandmother sewed for me years ago, it’s pretty faded but it has sentimental value.
I have a few race shirts and shirts from my high school that we made as a senior class… even though I rarely wear them I cant seem to give them up! Haha
I have a VT football shirt from the last time we went to the title game which was back in 2000 that I have worn to death and then some. It’s so soft I love it!
I don’t keep a lot of things but my husband has the shirt he wore to the hospital both times my sons were born. We will never get rid of that one ๐
I have a tshirt from my local gym that I absolutely love and wear all the time. The fabric is so soft and comfortable. I also have a serious hoodie addiction. They are all that lounge around in during the cold months. I love the black and white tshirt.
Oversized American Apparel grey tee. Helps me sleep like a baby!
My favorite item is this ratty, uninspiring black zip-up jacket that I got at Wal-Mart (of all places. lol) about four years ago. I love it. It is soft and fits perfectly. It looks awful. haha
When I was in highschool, I played Mother Abbess in the Sound of Music. Some of my best friends were Sister Berte and Sister Margaretta, and we silkscreened Nun Pride tees for ourselves and all the underclassmen nuns. They featured a scandalously busty nun winking, that my friend drew herself. It’s pretty threadbare and gross, but I still sleep in it!
I love T’s from places we travel to. It keeps the memories of our trips vivid in my mind. Next are workout T’s and the two in this give-away look great!
My dad used to collect old college sweaters whenever he visited a different campus. love em, will always keep em!
My favorite t-shirts were only $2 each. They are big and soft.
I’ll always keep my highschool and college t-shirts. I love them!
I’ve recently acquired a few crossfit shirts and I think I’ll always keep those because they are a sign to be about how far I’ve come.
I’ll always keep my concert tshirts. I have so many of them, two large Rubbermaid totes full and so I’m going to turn them into a quilt!
My favorite gray sweats. They are big and comfy and I’ve had them forever. I will always keep them.
I continue to hold onto the t-shirt I was wearing when I met my husband. It’s way too big now, but I can’t give it away.
