Thank you to everyone for entering! Stay tuned for Summer Shape Up giveaways starting next week!

___________________________________________________________

HOLY Shape Up!!! I am so thrilled that you’re as excited as I am for the challenge. Thank you so much to those of you who have already signed up! Keep an eye on your email for the password + all of the Shape Up details. You have until Friday to sign up if you haven’t already.

Along with the fun adventures of this past weekend, I also had the chance to do some cooking. I made some lactation oaties for a friend who just had twins:

Oatie dough 1 of 1 2

(I told the Pilot he would lactate if he ate any)

sautรฉed BBQ zucchini to go with lunch one afternoon

Zucchini 1 of 1 4

and some Paleo breadย for us to enjoy this week.

Paleo bread 1 of 1 4

The bread is an almost-weekly staple; I especially love it with a smear of sunflower seed butter and drizzle of honey.

In addition to the cooking, I had a few minutes to make a sell/donate stash from our closet.

Closet 1 of 1

I took some clothes to Buffalo Exchange to sell and I have to say, it’s a special kind of judgment when the sales associate digs through your clothing, deciding what they’ll keep. It’s an extra special type of judgment when said clothing buyer hardly takes anything from your pile, but has a heyday with the neon Forever 21 garb from the pile next to yours. I felt very old.

Usually when I go through my closet to donate and sell items, I have a pretty good idea of what I need to take to Goodwill, and what Buffalo might take. This time I was totally off!

It’s pretty easy for me to take clothes I’ll never wear again to make room in the closet, but the tried, true (and grungy) items tend to have a longer shelf life.

I have a few t-shirts that I love to lounge around in:

my Tiger Sharks shirt, any of the Pilot’s graphic tees (I especially love sleeping in them when he’s deployed), a few race/gym shirts

Shirt1

(still have that shirt, 3 years later)

and anything with soft Pima cotton.

Needless to say, I was pretty stoked when Reebok sent two super comfy tees this month as part of our partnership.

Tee 1 of 1

They fit well, have a nice stretch to them, and the luxurious fabric made me want to cry tears of joy. I can tell I’ll be wearing them a lot!

I loved the shirts so much that I asked Reebok if they’d like to do a giveaway and was so excited when they said yes.

One lucky winner will receive one of each of these shirts:

Tee 1 of 1 2

(the short sleeve V neckย and love fit tee)

All you have to do is leave a comment with your favorite T-shirt, or something in your closet you’ll always keep.

I’ll pick a random winner tomorrow (Wednesday, 5/29) at midnight EST.

Enjoy your night!

xoxo

Gina

  7. Bonnie on May 28, 2013 at 9:48 pm

I’ve seen these great t’s around the world wide web! So neat… I think one thing I can’t throw away is probably a now-ratty shirt that says “Bonjour” and the O is a heart…My mom gave it to me and when I wear it I think of her, especially because those are the first three letters of my name and it makes HER think of ME! …oh the memories. ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. Carey on May 28, 2013 at 9:49 pm

So cute! Growing up my dad travelled a lot for business. Every city he went to, he got me a tshirt with the city name. I love those tshirts and I can never ever get rid of them. He used to say that he could travel the world but I was always in his heart. ๐Ÿ™‚

  9. Melissa on May 28, 2013 at 9:49 pm

There are too many items that I just can never get rid of…I finally got a pair of volleyball sweatpants that I have had for probably 11 years…they were super comfy! I really like the red Love Fitness shirt!

  10. Crystal on May 28, 2013 at 9:49 pm

One shirt that I will never get rid of is a t-shirt my son made me in pre-school for Mother’s Day (he is 14 now!). It is his footprint stamped onto the front and then decorated into an angel and it says “Mommy’s Little Angel”. Love it! ๐Ÿ™‚

  11. Jane on May 28, 2013 at 9:51 pm

My favorite shirt is a super soft grey shirt with USA in stars and stripes. I won’t ever let it go! And I know exactly what you mean about that special kind of judgment….it’s brutal! But it made me laugh out loud when I read about it. Thanks for keeping us entertained!

  12. Jennna on May 28, 2013 at 9:51 pm

  16. Tracey on May 28, 2013 at 9:54 pm

I tend to be the opposite of a pack rat, and am a little sad when I think about the shirts I’ve thrown away. ๐Ÿ™ But in the 90’s, we wore our t-shirts over-sized and I wouldn’t be caught dead at the gym in most of the ones I’ve saved! Love some of my old sorority tees, but would definitely love that Reebok v-neck!! ๐Ÿ˜€

  17. Jen on May 28, 2013 at 9:55 pm

  20. Emily on May 28, 2013 at 10:00 pm

I actually just took some of my clothes to Plato’s Closet today and felt exactly like you did! I was surprised at some of the stuff they didn’t take, and even more surprised by others clothes I saw them accepting!! I have a thrift store Atlanta Braves baseball tee that I will never give up! It’s so soft and comfy!

  21. Denise on May 28, 2013 at 10:01 pm

  22. Jill on May 28, 2013 at 10:01 pm

I still have my hospital volunteer uniform (aka candy-striping uniform) in my closet for some reason! It reminds me of the importance of giving back and volunteering. And it would be a good Halloween costume in a pinch!

Thanks for hosting the giveaway! ๐Ÿ™‚

  23. Julie R. on May 28, 2013 at 10:02 pm

  26. Rachel on May 28, 2013 at 10:06 pm

I love the “love fitness” shirt. I’m actually wearing one of those pieces I’ll never throw away–a t-shirt my fiancรฉ bought for me that says “COOL STORY BRO.” It’s ridiculous, but so comfortable, and perfectly oversized for sleeping!

    • Jeannette on May 28, 2013 at 10:32 pm

My favorite t-shirt is a shirt I received after buying my prom dress my junior year of high school (6 years ago!) It says, “I want my dress from Peaches or Im not going to the prom. It has a little pageant girl on it and I think it’s the cutest thing. I refuse to get rid if it even though it has seen better days ; )

  27. Lynda on May 28, 2013 at 10:07 pm

  30. Lindsey on May 28, 2013 at 10:07 pm

For the better part of my life my favorite shirt was a Colombo yogurt shirt my mom had gotten as some promotional thing at her workplace. It was not a particularly attractive shirt and I only wore it around the house, but it was so soft and comfy. It was so worn out when I finally got rid of it that it had to go in the trash… too threadbare for a rag, even! My current favorite tee is my Locally Grown Massachusetts (http://locallygrownclothing.com/shop/massachusetts-tee/) tee. I am eyeing a few more of the shirts on the site now!

  31. Angelica on May 28, 2013 at 10:08 pm

  34. Morgan on May 28, 2013 at 10:11 pm

The favorite item in my closet I will always keep is a sweatshirt that is many sizes too big that my husband lent to me on one of our first dates. That was seven years ago! As ridiculous as I must look wearing with the aweatshirt on, It always gives me a sense of comfort when I wear it.
