Friday Faves 2.2
Hi friends! Happy Friday! How are you? I hope youโve had a wonderful week. Itโs been a bit of a wild one over here. I had to get my first mammogram after a potentially concerning spot showed up on my last ultrasound – it was NOT a picnic, but Iโm extremely thankful for good results. Aaaand Liv broke her finger! Weโre headed to ortho today but Iโm hoping sheโll just have to splint it for a little while.
What do you have going on this weekend? Weโre headed to a military event and are going to do a family hike in between the festivities. The weather has been a DREAM this week, so weโre taking advantage of it. I hope you have a fun and lovely weekend ahead, too.
(Played hooky on Monday and went to the gem show with madre!)
Itโs time for the weekly Friday Faves party! Hereโs where I share some of my favorite finds from the week and around the web. I always love to hear about your faves, too, so please shout out something youโre loving in the comments section below.
Friday Faves 2.2
Random/life:
Second ear piercings! Liv has been wanting to get her second piercing for a while, so we told her she could go for it. We picked up one of her friends to join us (for moral support), and headed to Rowan, the new piercing spot at La Encantada. All of the earrings are hypoallergenic, and all of the piercers are registered nurses. It was very cute and Instgrammable.
Liv asked me if I would go first, so I said yolo and got my second piercings done. (I originally had them done in elementary school but let them close.)
It didnโt hurt at all – I was shocked!!
Our โaftersโ:
I canโt believe how much I like having a second piercing. Itโs fun to have a lil extra sparkle.
We went as a family to the Wildcats game last night and it was a blast. Liv has an intense dance schedule so we havenโt made it to any games this season. We let her ditch one night (she had a newly broken finger, after all) and cheered our hearts out, ate all the game foods, and enjoyed the evening together.
This label maker. I know, itโs a weird thing to be excited about. Buuuut I got this on Prime Day and LOVE this little thing. Itโs been helpful for labeling items in the pantry and also the hangers for dance competition costumes! Check it out here.
Megโs baby shower!
We got to celebrate this mama and my new baby nephew on the way. We had appetizers at Commoner & Co., played games, ate cake, and watched her open all of the amazing gifts. I canโt believe how much better baby clothes are now!! The fabrics have gotten a major upgrade and are so incredibly soft.
These teacher coasters! I ordered them for the girlsโ teachers for teacher appreciation to pair with a Starbucks gift card. LOVE how they tuned out!

A parenting goal for the teenage years.
Fashion + beauty:
New lip balms! The texture is silky smooth and they give the lightest bit of color. I try to use nontoxic makeup and skincare as much as possible, but lip products are especially important since you essentially *eat* whatโs on your lips. Check it out here and you can use CLEANFORALL20 for 20% off your first order. Iโm happy to help with any recs, too!
This skirt. It was in my recent RTR Unlimited shipment and Iโm thinking about keeping it. Skirts donโt often fit me well – my torso is short and theyโre often too tight in the waist – and this fits and matches so many tops and sweaters.
( I wear it with these loafers or these Amazon flats!)
Fitness, health, and good eats:
Barre strength workout with dumbbells.
Simple but delicious air fryer chicken. (Ps Iโm in the market to swap out our air fryer for one that doesnโt have the nonstick coating. If you have a stainless steel or glass one you love, please lmk!)
Caramel chocolate truffles. YUM
Happy Friday, friends! Whatโs something youโre loving this week?

Iโm assuming that gem show was in Tucson? Always wanted to attend one. Gotta find one in Phoenix I guess.
yes, it’s one of the biggest gem shows in the world! we have a smaller one in the fall and a larger one in feb each year. you definitely need to come down to tucson for one!
I’ve been worried about the nonstick coating in my air fryer too. I’d heard about silicone liners you can put inside, but I’m not always sure how safe those are either. If you do find a less toxic alternative, please share it on the blog!! Would love to know about it.
2nd this! Would love to hear recs!
i will definitely post the details when i find the unicorn i’m looking for!!
Congratulations to Meg! I remember when she used to do guest posts on the blog ๐
those were the days!! ๐
Same here! I remember her first pregnancy ๐
We have the Breville air fryer / toaster oven. We purchased it with the intention of using it as an air fryer but itโs also nice to have an extra little oven/toaster that is easily accessible. It works great! The only downside is that there isnโt a basket to shake (instead, if you want to turn over your food to evenly brown, you actually have to flip it) but it air fryโs beautifully and we are happy that itโs non stick. We love it!
amazing – i’ll check this out! thank you!
