From list to life
Happy Sunday!
A little later blogging today, since weโve spent the past 12 hours or so sleeping and bringing this list to life:
Today Iโm making a baby meal for a family and itโs also the Pilotโs b-day BBQ (his actual b-day is tomorrow).
Thereโs going to be a piรฑata, so Iโm thinking it will be a good time ๐
Last night, after chilling for a while after work, I got started on the cake and cupcakes.
Iโm making Ina Garten chocolate cupcakes/cake with peanut butter frosting <โall things that are good in life
+ crushed Reeseโs on top and on the sides of the cake
After making the cakes, the Pilot made me a midnight omelet:
[Not my legs, haha]
while Bella attacked her monkey toy.
It was a good night <3
This morning, we slept in a little, grabbed breakfast to-go
{*this smoothie* for me and a bagel for him}
and ran the rest of the errands to get supplies for the day.
I have a huge appreciation for the commissary here, especially after the lack of selection we had in Valdosta. I wish they had more organic produce, but other than that, itโs pretty baller. Check out the entire aisle of organic and gluten-free goodies:
AMAZING.
Hereโs the menu for today: [Iโm making double of some items for the party and baby meal to make things easier]
Baby Meal:
-Stuffed chicken (with goat cheese, kalamata olives, basil and sundried tomatoes)
-Greek-style quinoa salad
-Ravioli with cheesy sauce (for their little guy, who is now a big brother! I wasnโt sure if he would like the stuffed chicken)
-Chocolate cupcakes with peanut butter frosting
Pilotโs b-day BBQ:
-Filet mignon (madre is bringing over and grilling)
-Stuffed chicken (same from the baby meal, for me and anyone else whoโd like chicken instead of steak)
-Baked potatoes
-Cheesy cornbread with jalapenos
-Greek-style quinoa salad
-Appetizers: White bean and sundried tomato dip with Maryโs crackers, fruit plate (grapes, strawberries, kiwi and mango), chips and salsa
-Dessert: Chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting + cupcakes
Cookstravaganza starts in 3โฆ..2โฆโฆ.1โฆโฆ..
See ya later with a family post!
xoxo

WOW! That all sounds amazing! That is one lucky family!! You are so nice to do that for them ๐
You’re such a great hostess! I love baking and cooking days. Have fun!
Sounds busy, busy! Happy Birthday Eve, Pilot!!!
Gina,
My husband’s birthday is today! Happy birthday to the Pilot, too. I am making brownies, and was going to go with chocolate frosting…but now I’m inspired to make peanut butter frosting. Thanks, and have a great day!
Mary
Holy moly! That’s a lot of cooking! May the force be with you!*

And that pinata is too cute! Have a blast!!
I can’t believe it’s his bday already…time flies. This is the 3rd (I think) bday that I’ve ‘celebrated’ vicariously with your blog…your anniversary posts are always my fave though ๐
Those cupcakes. Omg. Ina is awesome and those look…incredible!
Sounds like such a fun day! I hope that you have tons of fun and enjoy this special time with family and friends.
What a lucky pilot to get a cake covered in Reeses! ๐
Wow, sounds like a fantastic feast, Gina! I’m sure the Pilot will love his birthday meal! ๐
oh my gosh those cupcakes sound amazing!
I made my first from-scratch cake about a month ago, and I also used Ina’s PB frosting recipe. To say it was a hit would be the understatement of the year ; )
Enjoy the party! Sounds like a blast.
i’m glad those weren’t your legs, i was thinking ” i know you’re pregnant, but come on” ๐
That gluten free aisle is very impressive!! ๐
hahaha, that was SO funny when you said “not my legs” too cute Gina ๐
Have fun tonight ๐
Love cooking for others! Sounds like a fun day!
So inspiring to see how much you guys love each and the ways you show it! xoxo
That meal you’re cooking for the family sounds delicious! And that’s so thoughtful of you to include a separate meal for their son. I’m sure they’re going to love it! ๐
Good luck with all that cookin’!
I personally love any cupcake from Vegan Cupcakes Take Over The World ๐
Since having to go GF, my local vegan cafe does the BEST GF vegan cupcakes with this divine lavender frosting.
The Pilot is lucky to have a wife like you :-0
Wow! You will be cooking up a literal storm! I wish you all the success ever friend!

That menu looks fabulous! That Ina recipe for chocolate cupcakes is my GO TO cupcake recipe–it’s PERFECTION!!!! I’m sure everyone will love them, and all the rest of the food you have planned!
Wow that’s an ambitious cooking list but I know you can do it! Can’t wait to see some of those yummy recipes :).
My guy turns 40 in February and I’m having palpitations at the amount of party planning there is to do. The rest of this comment actually belongs to the previous post, with The Pilot and Bella snuggling up, looking cosy. WE adopted an earthquake orphan cat (hundreds of animals got displaced) and for some reason, she loves Jase but has a snitchy attitude towards me – or, if not snitchy; indifferent. So she will be sitting on his lap, purring and I’ll come over for a cuddle and get growled at, by Miranda (the cat). I’m trying to develop some solidarity – after all, we are the only females in a house of boys, but she is not going for it. Probably psychological trauma…
pinata & a tasty sounding cake? Sounds like a fantabulous fiesta to me! Honestly, that cake sounds amazing! I think I will be making that very soon.
I spot Puffins in the corner of that grocery store picture ๐ Good luck cookie and Happy Birthday to the Pilot!
The picture of the Pilot making you an omelet looks like Bella is glaring at you! lol ๐ Happy Birthday to the Pilot! It sounds like you have the perfect spread planned!
I think I will be making that cake in the near future. Like tomorrow. Thanks Gina!
Happy Birthday to the Pilot!
A pinata! I haven’t seen one of those in forever, and it sounds so fun! Your food always makes me want to drool even if I just finished eating. Good luck with your cookstravaganza ๐
The Pilot’s birthday looked like so much fun! You two seem to make such a great team ๐ Also, I wonder what people will bring you when it’s your turn for a baby meal! ๐
Happy Birthday to the Pilot today! My husband’s birthday is tomorrow and he’s requested Carrot Cake and Tacos so I’ll be baking tomorrow ๐
Everything you made looks and sounds so delicious! Reese’s cake/cupcakes??? YUM!
WoW!!! the two meals look amazing. you were really busy. Can’t wait until you post the recipe… the chicken and the salad look awesome. Don’t forget to post the recipes.
