{Giveaway} Dehydration Station

Hiiiiii 😀 Happy Indian Food Wednesday! How’s your day going?

I’m so glad you guys liked the video I posted last night– pretty amazeballz, huh? I also LOVED reading about your pets’ nicknames. Glad we’re not the only weirdos out there 😉

(check out that LEG sticking out! She’s so funny)

We just got back from this morning’s 30 minute walk, and also went to the dog park (DP) so Bella could chase her friends around and collapse in the dirt.

B-fast for the Pilot:

pilot

(Sourdough English muffin with sundried tomato goat cheese, organic turkey, an over easy egg on each side, and 1/2 avocado with berries)

Perfect protein pancakes for me:

pancakes

BANANA SPLIT protein pancakes with a square of dark chocolate, 1/2 banana, organic strawberries and a drizzle of maple syrup.

Yes, yes, yesssssssssssssss <—-foodgasm

So I wanted to say a little “thank you” for being so lovely and supportive since the Pilot has been home, with house hunting and life in general, so I asked my friends at OpenSky if we could do a lil giveaway.

When I picked the item, I wanted it to be something I use all the time and LOVE, so it was really an easy choice.

  5. Gabriela @ Une Vie Saine on April 6, 2011 at 6:18 pm

I’m already signed up for the mailing list- woo!! I’d make something sweet. Maybe fruit chips??

  6. Elise on April 6, 2011 at 6:19 pm

My own dried mango. I buy in it bulk right now…I think it would probably save money, and plastic…and therefore the environment. And probably 500 million other things, such as roons.

  7. suki on April 6, 2011 at 6:20 pm

dehydrated fruits and kale chips, of course! 🙂 we used to have a dehydrator growing up, but i think that was before they perfected the modern system.

  8. Ansley on April 6, 2011 at 6:21 pm

I already follow you as well! I would love to apple chips and macaroons would be amazing! yummm! 🙂

  9. Jenna on April 6, 2011 at 6:21 pm

  10. Laura M on April 6, 2011 at 6:22 pm

Kiwi…I can never find it without added sugar.

  11. steviejean on April 6, 2011 at 6:22 pm

OMG the question is what wouldn’t I make… I’d dry out all my favorite fruits… I would make my veggie bread… kale chips… sunflower bread… it would never end.. and it would be fabulous!

  12. april on April 6, 2011 at 6:22 pm

Oh this is a fancy giveaway! I would definitely tackle the roons and crackers. This would definitely make me have to buy the food processor!

  13. Susan (Oliepants) on April 6, 2011 at 6:24 pm

What a super duper giveaway!!! I have to say my first use for the dehydrator will be veggie chips as they are uber expensive at the story and a great way to use up veggies!

  14. Emily C. on April 6, 2011 at 6:25 pm

    Dried fruit!!

  15. Brooke on April 6, 2011 at 6:29 pm

    Kale chips!!!

  16. meredith on April 6, 2011 at 6:30 pm

Kale chips!! My attempts at making them in the oven have been less than successful — lots of charred little piles 🙁 I’d then munch on my new and improved kale crispies while attempting to replicate your gorgeous ‘roons!!

  17. Holley @ Lunges and Lashes on April 6, 2011 at 6:31 pm

I kid you not, I was just thinking last night how I would love a dehydrator!?! First i would do banana chips because I love them so much! Homemade are TONS better than the ones from the store. Then I would make yam and sweet potato chips! Mmmm! Yes please! Okay, now you got me going, I can think of like a million more things I need to make. 🙂

  18. The Dainty Pig on April 6, 2011 at 6:31 pm

    All your recipes looks delicious!
I think I’d go for some raw kale chips, then some macaroons to balance them out 🙂

  20. Anna Crouch on April 6, 2011 at 6:32 pm

    OOOO!! !I Want a dehydrator!!!

  21. Dana on April 6, 2011 at 6:34 pm

Gosh, it would be so hard to make a decision between the kale chips and the roons. I think the roons would win out for what I would make first, but there wouldn’t be much down time before I had some kale chips a cookin’!!

  22. Elissa Denker on April 6, 2011 at 6:35 pm

I have read your blog for over a year now, and absolutely love everything you have to say. I have modeled several meals after your eats and appreciate your advice. I have lost 130 pounds through changing my lifestyle and am currently switching to a more plant based diet…I could really put a dehydrator to good use! I would make kale chips in a multitude of flavors!

  23. jc on April 6, 2011 at 6:38 pm

    kale chips please!!! yum

  24. rori on April 6, 2011 at 6:39 pm

oh boy. overwhelmed. i don’t know. probably veggie chips?

  25. Mindy on April 6, 2011 at 6:39 pm

Oh.my.god. I can’t believe you are giving away a dehydrator! I emailed you a few weeks ago asking about one but it’s not in my graduate school budget so I just gave up hope for having one, haha.

My first thing to make would be beet chips. I bought some at WF a while back and devoured them in a couple days!! Healthy and yummy! I would also attempt to make macaroons but would have to find another recipe since your’s is top secret for now. 😉

I just bought Ani Phyo’s book and am venturing into a vegan diet so a dehydrator would be an amazing resource to add to my kitchen. I will pray to the kitchen gods to help me win. haha.

  26. sophie on April 6, 2011 at 6:41 pm

how could i not say ROooOOOOoons??!!!

  29. Elise Foree on April 6, 2011 at 6:44 pm

I would make my own dried fruit! I spent way too much money on buying dried fruit.

  30. Marilu on April 6, 2011 at 6:44 pm

A dehydrator would be amazing! I would for sure make kale chips and also dry my own fruit since most dried fruit you purchase at the store has additional sugar added.

  31. kate on April 6, 2011 at 6:45 pm

Macaroons, fo sho 🙂 Yours always look so delicious!

  32. Catherine on April 6, 2011 at 6:45 pm

  35. Kaycee Alvesteffer on April 6, 2011 at 6:47 pm

I’ve seen so many posts floating in the blog world about kale chips and it has made me intrigued — they’d definitely be my first item made in the dehydrator!

  36. Amelia on April 6, 2011 at 6:47 pm

No freaking way! How am I so late to this party? What an awesome giveaway Gina!

This item has been on my list of wants for a couple of years. My sister, Dad, and I chipped in and purchased one for my mom for her birthday two years ago. She too, uses hers daily and is in love with it. She makes these raw tortilla chips that are better than any I have purchased at a store. No joke. I would probably make those first. 🙂
