Don’t you love when something totally unexpected makes your day a little brighter?


(Gorgeous full moon last night! Now if only I knew how to make my camera photograph it like an actual moon instead of a dot, that’d be kinda cool)

Well, that’s what happened yesterday 🙂


First I was excited to see a package that didn’t have the Amazon smiley face on it –those tend to pop up over here pretty frequently- and then I saw “perishable food” and things got even more ridic.


A package of Chicago foodie goodies from our good friends Mara and Adam 🙂

Carol’s cookies, Garrett’s popcorn and a deep dish pizza. No words.

I couldn’t open the popcorn fast enough….


and put the pizza in the oven, just in time for the Pilot to get home from work.


Random acts of kindness are truly amazing, and whenever someone does something nice for me, it makes me want to share the positive energy with someone else… so I thought it would be a great day for a giveaway- it’s been a while since we’ve had one of those over here!

After reading the comments on yesterday’s YouTube fitness post, I remembered that many of you also enjoy working out at home, so I thought I’d share one of my favorite at-home workouts with a blog friend:

It makes it even harder to choose because Shaun T. is fun and verryyyy nice to look at, and Chalene is a firecracker of motivation and energy.

    I love Turbo Jamand Jillian Michaels 30 day shred, but I’d love to try something ridiculously hard like Insanity at home 🙂 I’m probably too chicken to try that in front of an audience at the gym

    My favorite at home workout are the ones you post here! 🙂 I can always count on them to give me a great burn for my time! I love how even the shorter workouts create great results! Also, I think I would love the Turbofire workout as I am a Zumba and Kickboxing girl myself! Love you and the blog! Keep up the great work!

    I have tons of workout DVDs that I do at home, my favorite workouts are by Cindy Whitmarsh, especially here Incredible Abs series. I also like to do strength training, as I have a few different sets of weights at home.

    Oh gosh, they both sound fabulous options for a workout. Right now my favorite at home workout is a spin workout on my stationary bike….intermixed with some tennis ball throwing for my pooch who loves when i am in one place and she can bring me her ball to throw her. I get a good workout with a nice distraction and she gets a workout fetching the ball – Tired me after – tired puppy after! win win 🙂

    My favorite at home workout is definitely yoga. Love dimming the lights, putting my mat down, and becoming a yoga noodle.

    Definitely yoga. When I’m at home, I tend to enjoy doing more stretched focused workouts, so I can spend time running and doing other more cardio intense workouts outside. LOVE THE GIVEAWAY!

    Had been doing Bodyrock but fell off the wagon with the new hosts. The I found myself in a bit of a rut, just exhausted at all times. But now that Zuzana is back doing her own thing, I will be trying to pick it back up with those!

    I love Turbo Jam and do it frequently at home, I love Chalene’s energy and music through out the videos. She makes the time fly. Would love to add turbo fire to my collection

    Guess I’m too late lol but I would say my favorite at home workout is Walk Away the Pounds AND Turbo Jam. So you know which workout I would have chosen.

    And ohhh Garrett’s popcorn. I just tried it for the first time a few weeks ago when I was flying out on a biz trip (there is a Garrett’s popcorn stop in the airport). Yum.very addicting.

    OMG…those Carol cookies are soooo good..they have them at whole foods..right by the registers…dangerous impulse buying spot. They get me everytime..

    oh my gooosh you should do a givaway like this again 🙂 I got P90x from a friend but havent been able to try it yet, but my first choice if i were to buy would be insanity!!
