Holiday weekend + Summer Shape Up Signup
This past weekend was everything I could wish for in a holiday weekend. The Pilot was home for 4 days in a row (!!!), so we were able to take care of projects around the house,
enjoy a couple of parties with friends and family,
grill,
and spend time together.
I would like to let the world know that the Pilot said “it would be ok” if we got another dog.
The major concern is the ratio of humans to pets — he has always said that we can’t have more animals than humans in the houseโฆI agree. Since we have Oliv now, we could have 3 dogs ๐ The above pug-poodle mix made us decide we could add another to the clan.
For the BBQ we attended yesterday, I made a giant batch of guacamole to share.
I used the standard recipe but with 10 avocados. I also nixed the sour cream (I used goat’s milk cream cheese instead), and added a finely minced fresh jalapeรฑo for some kick. It came out pretty dang good.
It’s not the most photogenic food, but let’s just count our lucky stars I could take a pic and avoid making a plateful until we got to the party.
Livi had a blast swimming with all the other kids, the Pilot and I got to see our friends, and it was a wonderful evening. I have to put it down on record as the first night that I’ve ever changed Livi’s diaper and entire outfit without her waking up. She was CRASHED when we got home! I totally get it, though. After swimming (err, floating around), I want to eat an entire pizza and take a nap.
This morning, I managed to get in an early workout before everyone woke up. It’s always so nice to check it off the list early, plus it makes me feel more energized throughout the day. Liv and I are hanging out before heading to story time, and later today, taking dinner to some friends who have new baby twins.
Hope you have a great day!
xoxo
Gina
Guess what?! It’s time to SHAPE UP! Summer Shape Up is almost here, and I’m so excited to share this year’s workouts and meal plans with you. It’s going to be a little different than last year, because I’ll have all of the documents out to you much earlier (by Friday before each new week begins, at the latest) with a workout calendar for the entire month. Another big difference is that everything is going to be in one spot, which will be a password-protected page here on the blog. In previous years, my workouts and recipes were replicated on other sites, so I’m hoping to hinder this by protecting the Shape Up page.
(Shout out to the lovely Cindy, who made the logo for me! If you’re looking for graphic design work, hit her up:ย cindysawochka at gmail dot com)
Some Q&A:
Q: How do I sign up?
A: At the bottom of the comment portion of the blog, there’s a little box to click and subscribe to my newsletter. Click that box and leave a comment to get on the mailing list! Your email address will be used to send out blog info (awesome giveaways, new workouts, playlists, and Shape Up info) and (of course) will never be used by anyone or anything other than myself.
Q: What is the Shape Up exactly?
A: The Summer Shape UP is 4-week meal and fitness plan, which officially starts next Monday, June 3rd. The idea is not weight loss, but rather losing fat (gaining lean muscle), feeling healthier and changing up your current routine. I’ll emphasize at-home routines, while including playlist ideas and giveaways along the way. All of the details will be on the official Summer Shape Up 2013 page.
Q: How much does is cost?
A: It’s free! Always has been, always will be. All I ask in return is that you spread the word with friends if you enjoy it ๐
So, leave a comment and click the box to sign up! This Friday, you’ll get your first email with all of the info, and your “welcome” giveaway is next Monday.

Haven’t seen anything in my email or spam yet and commented a couple days ago. Would still like to sign up for summer shape up if still possible. As a registered nurse I only work three days a week and remain pretty active on my days off. I am always looking for new ways to workout and need some good lunch/dinner ideas.
Much appreciated:-)
Oh and I would love to receive the newsletter as well. Thanks a million!
