Land of bees and honey

A lovely, lazy Saturday over here <3

Breakfast on the patio:

a Bella in the sun:

and a blooming orange tree, which is making our entire backyard smell like honey.

The bees also recently discovered this, but weโ€™re leaving them alone for now and letting them enjoy their pollen fun. Random tip: dish soap mixed with water and sprayed on the leaves keeps the bees away without killing them or the tree

I was excited to try these new oats for breakfast this morning:

pretty decent stats:

(love the quinoa, chia seeds and amaranth in there, too!)

and amazing mixed up with defrosted organic cherries, almond butter, Brewerโ€™s yeast, cinnamon and almond milk.

Iโ€™m off to a Zumba class! Itโ€™s my third since Iโ€™ve been off, and I start teaching again pretty soon. I always like to take classes before I start teaching again to get back into it, and also for inspiration to choreograph. Iโ€™m hoping to get at least 4 new songs into the rotation soon. If you have any suggestions for new Zumba songs, please let me know! ๐Ÿ™‚

Street Fair this weekend!

Hope you have a great day- Iโ€™ll see ya later.

Something to talk about: Hunger Games hype- Iโ€™ve read the synopsis at least 13 times and have no desire to read the book, but the movie looks pretty cool. Then again, I was about a year late to hop on the Twilight train, so who knows ๐Ÿ™‚ Have you seen the movie already? Read the books? Am I missing out? Haha

Something to think:

That poem is so beautiful…just like a parent’s love to a child. On another note, I haven’t read Hunger Games yet, but since there is such a hype, I might as well…and probably before watching the movie!

That doctored up oatmeal looks amazing! I’m planning on making up a grocery list inspired by your meals and heading out early this week to jump start my healthy life changes. You’re very inspiring, especially because it looks like you eat so well, for health and taste!

You should definitely give the books a shot! I was skeptical, but they’re very good. Honestly, they’re surprisingly well written, and the characters are far more interesting than I expected.

The Hunger Games books are great! I’d say you’re definitely missing out, haha! Although… I like the Twilight books more (much more romance ๐Ÿ˜‰ ). I haven’t seen the movie yet, but the trailer looks promising….

I’ll join in with the others – read the books! I was skeptical at first – mainly because it’s not at ALL the genre I normally gravitate to – but they are so compellingly written that it’s impossible to put them down. Yes, there are parts that are very disturbing, especially in the third book, but there is such heart and integrity there, too. Definitely worth reading.

I read the book and saw the movie last night! the movie was SO. GOOD. I didn’t expect it to be, because the book was “eh”, but it was amazing. i definitely recommend seeing it!

I have no interest in the Hunger Games either. Please let the honey bees enjoy the pollen though! There are fewer honey bees now than ever, because people spray for them, because native plants are being removed for developments, etc. We really need the bees to pollenate the crops that we eat, so letting them do their thing is essential! I know you said you were leaving them alone for now, but just wanted to say to anyone else thinking about spraying their plants with the “harmless solution” that if the bees can’t find pollen, it doesn’t matter that the trees are ok. ๐Ÿ™‚

That poem is one of my faves!! So beautiful, gave me chills the first time I read it.
The Hunger Games is a good series, I really enjoyed it & I HATE scary movies/tv shows/books.
