Sweet Friday Giveaway

Hi friends! How are you?

bella

[The Bella ball says “Happy Friday]

It’s another lovely, cool day over here. It’s very refreshing to walk outside without being blasted with heat.

I’m a little late blogging this morning since I had to take my car to the dealership to be serviced. The good news is that they offered me a loaner car to have for the day, but I can’t find the emergency brake on it and keep picturing it rolling back from the driveway and crashing into our across-the-street neighbor’s mailbox.

I packed up some oats with almond milk and a crumbled Chocolate Cherry Torte Larabar to take with me to the dealership:

and couldn’t help but notice this surplus of almonds while I was scrounging for breakfast ingredients.

Since it would take forever to polish off that giant bag of almonds by myself, I think they’re destined for macaroon glory.

So how about a little giveaway?

roons (2)

Since the weather is cooling down, I thought it would be fun to talk about how you change and adapt your workouts in the fall weather.

For this giveaway, just leave a comment and let me know what your favorite fall/winter workout is. For me, I take more of my workouts outside to take advantage of the cooler temps, and when it actually gets to the freezing point, lots of hot yoga to warm up.

I’ll pick a random winner tonight at midnight and announce in my am post. The winner will receive a batch of macaroons in a flavor of their choice (chocolate, mocha, blonde, super roon, almond butter chocolate, Meyer lemon lavender).

Just to make things a little more fun, I’ll also add in a $50 Sephora gift card to celebrate all of the new fall colors and shimmer collections that are out.

Hope this makes your Friday a little sweeter!

See ya later today with a Family post <3

xoxo

Gina

  2. Bethany I. on October 7, 2011 at 4:49 pm

I definitely do a lot of yoga and treadmill running because I don’t like being cold so staying indoors where it’s nice and toasty is great. Also it’s a bonus after a sweaty run to step outside for a few seconds to cool off.

  3. jean on October 7, 2011 at 4:49 pm

i love hiking in the fall and not having to worry about waking up to go before it gets too hot. in the winter i really love going to bikram yoga because walking into the room feels so good!

  4. KAY on October 7, 2011 at 4:49 pm

  7. Erica on October 7, 2011 at 4:50 pm

Running is finally pleasant in Louisiana in the fall/winter.

  8. Katie on October 7, 2011 at 4:50 pm

Hi Gina! Oh i’m dying to try your macs! they look so tasty. crossing my fingers for your book deal so i can finally learn the secret! Anyway my fav winter work out a hard kickboxing class in a hot sweat gym (does that sound lame?). The walk to my car in the cold air feels so refreshing and my body still has the work out buzz!

  9. Lyndsey on October 7, 2011 at 4:50 pm

  10. Christine on October 7, 2011 at 4:51 pm

Since I live in Miami, I love to go for runs outside in the fall and winter. Now that I have a 4 month old I can’t wait to take him on long walks on the beach!

  11. gina g on October 7, 2011 at 4:51 pm

I join the basketball team! I am a college student and used to play basketball all through elementary and junior high, so I figured this year why not join a team to escape my stress and get a good workout? I love it and also love taking walks outside. Thank you so much Gina for this opportunity! 🙂

  12. AJ on October 7, 2011 at 4:52 pm

My favorite fall workout is taking my yoga mat outside to enjoy the beautiful weather and get my stretch on!

  13. Necia on October 7, 2011 at 4:53 pm

My favorite fall/winter workout is pushing that iron. I love strength training, but seem to love it even more in the winter. It’s nothing like torturing those muscles and feeling it under all the clothes the weather requires me to wear.

  14. hawley on October 7, 2011 at 4:53 pm

the best fall workout is definitely walking in the woods! a beautiful hike with the beautiful autumn colors is my absolute favorite thing.

  15. Betsy on October 7, 2011 at 4:53 pm

Even though I live in a temperate climate, I still prefer running in the cool and wet over the moderate heat of summer. So fall means plenty of outdoor running!

  16. laura on October 7, 2011 at 4:53 pm

I love to go running outside in the fall

  17. Gina on October 7, 2011 at 4:53 pm

What an awesome giveaway! My favorite fall and winter workout is power walking around my neighborhood. I live in LA, so I love when it’s finally October and not so hot. And even though people say there are no seasons here, there are! You can definitely tell when the “fall” weather sets in, and it’s perfect for long walks. Have a good weekend–always love the blog. 🙂

  18. Kaylene on October 7, 2011 at 4:54 pm

I love to jog– I’m in Florida right now, so fall is the best time to do it.

  19. Katie in DC on October 7, 2011 at 4:55 pm

I love running in the fall. Cool weather, long sleeve running shirts, and getting to watch the leaves change: perfection!

  20. sophie on October 7, 2011 at 4:55 pm

In the Fall, my yoga class starts up again! I also love to go hiking in the hills – all the leaves changing colour is wonderful to see 🙂

  21. Mary Ann on October 7, 2011 at 4:55 pm

I’m in Portland, so walking outside on the dry fall days is wonderful…but again, I’m in Portland, so we have like 2 dry fall days. But the two we have are glorious!

  22. Kelly on October 7, 2011 at 4:56 pm

I love to take long walks in the fall with the puppers!

  23. sophie on October 7, 2011 at 4:56 pm

  24. Ali on October 7, 2011 at 4:56 pm

Long bike rides with my boyfriend, or walks with said boyfriend and puppy 🙂

  25. LindsayH on October 7, 2011 at 4:58 pm

I LOVE running in the cool/cold weather!

  26. Kelsey on October 7, 2011 at 4:58 pm

I live in upstate NY, so I love going for runs/walks outside to enjoy the beautiful fall foliage. In the winter, I only run on the dreadmill, it’s way too cold for outside running for me!

  27. cassy on October 7, 2011 at 4:58 pm

i have been recently working with a trainer and it was kicking my booty!! now that it’s cooler (and I am a wee bit stronger!!) i am feeling even better through out my work outs! runs no longer kill me– love the cooler weather!!!

  28. Mo on October 7, 2011 at 5:00 pm

My favorite fall workout is cleaning up the yard!!! We have two of the messiest trees ever – a willow and a chestnut tree – and they make for one heck of a schweaty workout. Once the yardwork is done – I take advantage of the cooler weather and run sprints in my backyard. I figure if my 14 year old border collie can catch me – I’m not running fast enough! Take care and enjoy your cooler weather. Mo

  29. Janet on October 7, 2011 at 5:00 pm

My favorite way to switch up my fall work-outs is to hit the gym in the morning and spend sometime walking there in the evening. Living in Chicago means colder temps fast, but staying active keeps me from getting depressed about the lack of sun for the next 5 months!

  30. Lenae on October 7, 2011 at 5:01 pm

I love to walk around our community to see the leaves changing colors with my son. And then in the winter I love to cross country ski. Its a great workout and I love being able to see the wonderful winter wonderland.

  31. Britt on October 7, 2011 at 5:02 pm

Intervals for sure. They keep me from getting bored by lazy fall days!

  32. Amanda on October 7, 2011 at 5:02 pm

I love running with my dog. Since he’s got a thick dense coat, I can’t run with him during the summer. But once it cools off, he doesn’t seem to mind it and running keeps me much warmer than walking would!

  33. Bernadette on October 7, 2011 at 5:02 pm

I love to do hiking Yoga….awsome time of the year to just get outside and get your workout on 😉
It would also be an awesome time to finally get to taste your AWESOME MACAROONS –any flavor!! Thanks Gina

  34. Kahee on October 7, 2011 at 5:02 pm

During the fall, I looooved long walks and boarding during the winter

  35. Victoria @ The Pursuit of Hippieness on October 7, 2011 at 5:03 pm

I’m all about hikes in the woods in the fall! Love being around all the changing leaves.

  36. Lacey on October 7, 2011 at 5:03 pm

Hot vinyasa yoga is the best way I know to warm up when it is cold and dreary outside. Thanks for the giveaway!

  37. Sara L. on October 7, 2011 at 5:04 pm

Running/walking outside in the cooler temps 🙂

  38. Caiti on October 7, 2011 at 5:05 pm

I’m from Northern Michigan so my favorite way to switch up my workouts in the fall is to run in the woods among all the changing leaves:) The Mid-60s temps are a nice change up too:)

  39. Lea on October 7, 2011 at 5:05 pm

What a great giveaway! My favorite fall workout is running! I love running in the cool air!

  40. Stacey w on October 7, 2011 at 5:05 pm

I bring back alot of outdoor running! In the summer it is usually too humid, so the fall is the perfect time!

  41. Kerri on October 7, 2011 at 5:05 pm

WOW! What a nice give away! THANK YOU!!!

I actually LOVE running in fall/winter. I live in Minnesota so we get some NASTY snow…but it actually motivates me to run longer! I do noooot like humidity and heat, so running in the summer is kind of OUT for me! Come winter, I layer up and head outdoors. Because it’s so cold outside, yet my body is so hot, I end up feeling perfectly comfortable the whole time 😉

    Have a great weekend!

  42. Kerry on October 7, 2011 at 5:05 pm

In the fall, I like to take long walks outside – as long as it isn’t raining!

  43. Pam on October 7, 2011 at 5:07 pm

I love hiking in the fall…..sorta of in the winter. But more in the fall because the outdoors are beyond beautiful here in good old western PA.

  44. ash on October 7, 2011 at 5:07 pm

    walking outside!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  45. Sarah on October 7, 2011 at 5:07 pm

I love fall because we can get out of the house and enjoy AZ! Its the only time when weather is perfect!

  46. Lizzie @TheWeekdayVegan on October 7, 2011 at 5:07 pm

My favorite fall workout is RUNNING because the weather is nice, the leaves are nice and crunchy when you step on them, and the trees and scenery are beautiful! Also it reminds me of cross country season in high school! There are a lot of great and fun 5ks, half marathons and full marathons (and everything in between) in the fall too.

  47. Rosanne on October 7, 2011 at 5:08 pm

I love taking a spinning class, such a great workout and it’s indoors:)

  48. laura t on October 7, 2011 at 5:08 pm

Love doing hot yoga on a cold winter day!

  49. Taya on October 7, 2011 at 5:08 pm

Now that the weather is cooling down and the leaves are turning gorgeous colors, I’ve been spending more time outside than in the gym! I’ve officially caught the running bug! But once it starts getting cold (I’m a wimp in the winter!) I retreat back to the gym!

    Awesome giveaway!

  50. Kate Harts on October 7, 2011 at 5:09 pm

Even though I’m taking the fall/winter off running to heal from injuries I love crisp fall runs!
