Sweet Friday Giveaway
Hi friends! How are you?
[The Bella ball says “Happy Friday]
It’s another lovely, cool day over here. It’s very refreshing to walk outside without being blasted with heat.
I’m a little late blogging this morning since I had to take my car to the dealership to be serviced. The good news is that they offered me a loaner car to have for the day, but I can’t find the emergency brake on it and keep picturing it rolling back from the driveway and crashing into our across-the-street neighbor’s mailbox.
I packed up some oats with almond milk and a crumbled Chocolate Cherry Torte Larabar to take with me to the dealership:
and couldn’t help but notice this surplus of almonds while I was scrounging for breakfast ingredients.
Since it would take forever to polish off that giant bag of almonds by myself, I think they’re destined for macaroon glory.
So how about a little giveaway?
Since the weather is cooling down, I thought it would be fun to talk about how you change and adapt your workouts in the fall weather.
For this giveaway, just leave a comment and let me know what your favorite fall/winter workout is. For me, I take more of my workouts outside to take advantage of the cooler temps, and when it actually gets to the freezing point, lots of hot yoga to warm up.
I’ll pick a random winner tonight at midnight and announce in my am post. The winner will receive a batch of macaroons in a flavor of their choice (chocolate, mocha, blonde, super roon, almond butter chocolate, Meyer lemon lavender).
Just to make things a little more fun, I’ll also add in a $50 Sephora gift card to celebrate all of the new fall colors and shimmer collections that are out.
Hope this makes your Friday a little sweeter!
See ya later today with a Family post <3
xoxo
Gina
********************************This giveaway has ended. Stay tuned for the next one!
My favorite fall exercise is hiking! I just love taking in the beautiful scenery around me and unwinding after a long day at work!
I like to hit the heated vinyasa yoga studio in the winter, to counteract the winter rain here in California. It’s too dark in the winter to run outside before or after work, which is so depressing! Spring can’t come soon enough for me.
Ahh Ive never won a blogger giveaway, and I think this would be a SUPER amazing one to win 🙂 My favorite fall/winter workout would be after dinner walks with the pups and my boyfriend around our university campus. It’s such lovely weather and it’s even better when it snows a little! 🙂
I live in New England so hiking and checking out the amazing foliage is pretty sweeeeeeeet. But also love that I don’t need to run at either 6 am or 8 pm to beat the heat!
Hi Gina! Living in Florida, Fall marks the beginning of being able to exercise outside without baking in the heat. I love taking my interval running and upper body stuff outside. Thanks for the giveaway!
I live in Michigan, so it gets a bit chilly in the winter to do much outside. But…I’m thinking of renting some snowshoes this winter….
I love walking my dogs in the fall. The changing colors are so pretty!
I love going for walks outside this time of year.
I absolutely love taking long walks outside in the fall! Fall is absolutely gorgeous here in New England, and is definitely too short. Thanks for an awesome giveaway!
Being in Arizona, I definitely am ready to take more long walks with the dogs. I felt horrible for them over the summer because even at night the ground was too toasty for their little paws. I also want to go hiking – I moved to AZ just before the HOT summer, so I haven’t gotten to experience the awesome hiking yet 🙂
I love walking/running in the fall when the weather is nice and cool!
My favorite fall workout is riding horses outside — having suffered through many summer shows wearing long boots and a wool coat, fall always feels so refreshing!
I also like taking my dog to the local parks.
I like to go on more walks outside with my hubby in the Fall 🙂
I like taking walks at night with my mom and dog!
Definitely, more runs/walks outside during the northeast Ohio fall. The foliage is breathtaking. I’ll tend to workout earlier in the morning, say 6am, and I look forward to getting some spicy-smelling candles to augment my yoga flows!
I like bundling up and going for an early morning (or pre-bedtime) stroll with my daughter. We love all the different scenery and smells that fall brings.
I love love love love kick boxing or boot camp classes in the winter.
And I would love love love some chocolate macaroons 🙂
Def walking outside in the cooler temperatures (I’m in Texas, so there is a wide swath of summer where it is ridiculously hot outside).
In the fall I love taking lots of long walks. Being in Chicago, I wanna soak up the beautiful weather while I can! In the winter I like spin classes.
I look forward to running outside when the weather gets cooler. And when it gets too cold I pop in a TurboFire DVD. Love Chalean. I just decided to do a marathon in April so I will be training all winter for that.
I would love any kind of ‘roon.
Congrats on being named a top 20 fitness blogger. You’re my number 1!
I love running outside when it finally cools down a little. I went to the park for the first time in weeks on Wednesday, and it was perfect—a little breezy, a little cool, and so refreshing!
I love riding my bike on my favorite trail to enjoy the beautiful fall foilage!
My favorite fall workout is the turkey trot I do with my mom and the runs we do before to prepare. Nothing like running in fall weather!
Fall weather in New England is perfect for lots of foliage hikes!
Running in the fall is amazing- a welcome reprieve from the humid summers in DC. Also taking a few indoor classes- pilates/yoga/kickboxing when I can!
My favorite fall/winter workout is running, inside! of course 🙂
My favorite fall work out is as much outdoor cardio as is possible to enjoy the last days of nice weather (and i love crunching in the fallen leaves lol I’m forever a child) and in the winter, I do the treadmill (kinda boo because I get bored on it soooo easily) and the elliptical and I’m actually going to do some of your winter work outs from last winter to add some strength training so I’m pretty pumped about that! My husband is deployed, so it’ll be a lot of what I can do at home with my 1 year old 🙂
Running when the weather cools down is AMAZING!!! So much better than running in the hot summer heat. And the winter exercise you can’t beat (if you’re lucky enough to get decent snow) is sledding! 🙂
Does kneading bread count? What if I send you some?
i also take advantage of the cooler temps and walk outside more & i continue my tracy anderson mat workouts, which i stick with year round!! thanks for the chance to win – i LOVE coconut!
I like to get back into the habit of doing yoga in the morning since it can be hard to get moving when it is cold out
I love running outside in the fall when the leaves start to change and participating in various 5k events that usually happen before the really cold weather starts. I also really enjoy Birkham yoga to warm up and maintain lean long muscles that can often be shortened from the cold and running.
I love running outside when it get colder. I tend to migrate to the treadmill during the hot summers, so it’s a welcome relief to run in the cool weather. I also love to do spinning class when it’s super chilly out!
I live in Alaska, so my favorite winter workout has to be shivering! 🙂 Just kidding. I really like cross-country skiing and really rocking it out in group classes like dance cardio or zumba during the winter months. It’s a little too cold to do much else!
Love going to school in MN because I take my runs down to Lake Superior….so beautiful! Once allllll the snow hits I try and get a work out via fun things like sledding and snow-man/woman building! <3
Being an AZ girl its hiking/trail running season bbaabbyy!! Love getting out and hitting new trails! I might try mountain biking this fall. Maybe.
I love, love, love running outside in the fall. I live in a really hilly area so often times I’m walking and not running, but either way it is fantastic.
Unfortunately, my workouts happen at around 5:30 am. I don’t exactly live in the best neighborhood to be running or walking outside at 5:30 am is the safest thing to do…alone. So, I usually only run outside on the weekends.
My favorite fall workouts are races! Fall is race season and as the weather cools it is perfect for longer distances (until it gets too cold!!) When it gets really cold, I take full advantage of the gym we have at work. No need to bundle up before and after, since I am already in the temperature-controlled office!
I have a trail behind my house that is basically 2 miles uphill….its pretty treacherous during the summer, so its perfect when the weather is crisping up to go with a group of girls in the morning. And when you get to the top it overlooks several cities…GORGEOUS!
I love a chilly morning run 🙂 There is always the built-in workout of raking leaves!
I just started running outside on this beautiful trail; so pretty with the changing leaves!
Since I try to work out in the morning, fall is a time to experiment with new moves indoors. I start going to the gym again (I’m mostly an outdoor athlete in the summer) and when I can’t be at the gym replicate my workouts with free weights and yoga videos at home.
I love running outside in the fall! The crisp air, beautiful fall colors, and comfortable temps make it so nice!
I love running outside on trails in the fall.
My favorite fall/ winter workout is definantly zumba all the way! Up here in Indiana it gets so cold that outdoor workouts are almost unbearable!
It’s the perfect time of year for bike riding! As long as the cooperates, I’m outside. Then I take it inside for more weights and pilates. I actually love winter workouts!
With the weather as wonderful as it is outside, there is NOTHING better than riding my horse and having my dog follow behind. My dad’s house backs up to a couple creeks and a river with sandy beaches, so its a great place to pass up LA swamps and relax with just me, my horse and puppy!
My fall face is running outside. Oh and PS- the emergency brake might be a foot pedal in the top left of the foot area. An old car of mine had it there and took me forever to.find it!
my favorite is running in the crisp fall air, the leaves falling. Especially in the mornings in the fall. Possibly with a little drizzle of rain in the air! 🙂
My fave fall outdoor workout is simply a brisk walk around the neighborhood. Without the excuse of the summer heat, I can push myself and have a more productive workout.
I love winter workouts because I can run in the rain! I live in Seattle, so right about now it starts misting every day. It’s usually a perfect temperature and the mist feels so good while your working out.
