Sweet Friday Giveaway

It’s another lovely, cool day over here. It’s very refreshing to walk outside without being blasted with heat.
I’m a little late blogging this morning since I had to take my car to the dealership to be serviced. The good news is that they offered me a loaner car to have for the day, but I can’t find the emergency brake on it and keep picturing it rolling back from the driveway and crashing into our across-the-street neighbor’s mailbox.
I packed up some oats with almond milk and a crumbled Chocolate Cherry Torte Larabar to take with me to the dealership:
and couldn’t help but notice this surplus of almonds while I was scrounging for breakfast ingredients.
Since it would take forever to polish off that giant bag of almonds by myself, I think they’re destined for macaroon glory.
So how about a little giveaway?
Since the weather is cooling down, I thought it would be fun to talk about how you change and adapt your workouts in the fall weather.
For this giveaway, just leave a comment and let me know what your favorite fall/winter workout is. For me, I take more of my workouts outside to take advantage of the cooler temps, and when it actually gets to the freezing point, lots of hot yoga to warm up.

I like picking pumpkins at the pumpkin patch. I carry and move them myself. When not at the patch, I like walking around the neighborhood looking at Halloween decorations with my fiancee. My gym is even having a Halloween costume party. See Halloween and fitness go well together!
My favorite fall workout is just a nice walk outside. Love the fall weather.
I’m an organic farming apprentice, so the fall is a welcome respite from working outside all day in the heat. I do a little more clamming on the farm, too, and even thought I’m on the cold water it’s more than enough of a workout to get me quite warm on the coolest of fall days!
I love the cooler weather so that I can run outside without sweating bullets. I also enjoy doing more intense cardio and weights at the gym and then heading outside in the cool air after I’m all sweaty – gross, but I love it. And I’d LOVE to try your roons! 🙂
During the warmer months I like to work out in the evenings, but once the cooler weather hits I always get an urge for early morning workouts! Strange, but I think it just helps me stay energized during those chilly days!

I love doing long runs outside on the weekends and coming home to a warm breakfast!
I am able to do long runs during the day now instead of going in the evenings or early in the mornings.
I actually enjoy running when it’s chilly more than when it’s warm! I put on my jacket, m ear-covering headband, and a pair of leggings and work through the chill. Plus, it gives me another reason to get out of my warm, cozy bed a little earlier. 🙂
Hot yoga! It’s always nice, but nothing like a great hot yoga session on a cold day to warm you up and keep you energized!
I love outdoor runs during the fall–so refreshing!
I love taking my dogs on walks. Hiking in the crisp weather and crunching leaves, too.
I <3 <3 <3 running outside during the fall! I too live in a hot environment (Florida!) and there's nothing better than a cool run outside, as opposed the heat of the summer! It's also nice just to go on long walks in the early morning, it makes me feel like I'm still living up north! : )
I’m with you — anything outside! I live in Texas so I’m all about the days under 100 degrees 🙂
Fall to me has always meant soccer when I was growing up! I had a recent knee injury/surgery, but played again…and after a year off from the sport I love (didn’t want to walk down the aisle on crutches 😉 ), I just began playing on a team again! Our games our Saturday mornings, and by about Tuesday afternoon I can walk normally again…but it’s so worth it! 🙂
My fave Fall workout is prob walking the pups more! It’s their fave too :). Otherwise I don’t change up my gym routine too much. Just add more layers 😉
Arizona is finally cooling off! I’m super excited to start running outside again!

I’m in Houston, TX, and winter around here means rain, but we have been in a worst drought in ages so even that would be welcome sight. The gym is where its at, no excuse valid for not getting your sweat on!
LOTS of dogs walks – especially just before sunset. And some yoga in the backyard 🙂 Mmm roons!
I definitely take my workouts outdoors. It’s finally cool enough where I live to ditch the gym treadmill and take my runs outside. I love it!

I am loving long walks outside and then some sort of fitness video inside. Got to love variety!
I have to say, I love love love running in the cool fall temps! And when it gets colder…even better! I love bundling up and going for a run!
My favorite fall workout is hill sprints. We have a huge hill by house and I love to sprint to the top and knockout a set of burpees. Killer and so fun!

It has finally cooled off enough to run outside! That’s where I do my training in the Fall/Winter. I just layer up as the temp gets colder 🙂 And, it’s almost time for snow sports, like snowshoeing!

I do a lot more strength training in the winter. It helps me warm up!

I actually love running in the fall/winter. When it’s cold, I can run much farther and faster for some weird reason. I’m convinced I’m part polar bear.
Since I live in Chicago, the fall/winter can get pretty cold. If it’s a nice fall day, my favorite workout is a run/walk to take advantage of the cool (but not too cool air). Once, it’s really cold, I take my workouts indoors and workout with my BFF Chalene via DVD.
I live in Florida, so anything outside is heaven right now! My favorites are runs in historic neighborhoods or a nice long trail hike.
My fav for winter is definitely hot yoga!

In the fall, hiking is my favorite activity! In the winter, Zumba! Really gets my blood pumping! And I always feel good leaving the gym and immediately feeling the cold sting in the air as I walk outside.
Spinning! I am curious to see if I will like Bikram in the winter as well…shall see!!!
