Sweet Friday Giveaway
Hi friends! How are you?
[The Bella ball says โHappy Friday]
Itโs another lovely, cool day over here. Itโs very refreshing to walk outside without being blasted with heat.
Iโm a little late blogging this morning since I had to take my car to the dealership to be serviced. The good news is that they offered me a loaner car to have for the day, but I canโt find the emergency brake on it and keep picturing it rolling back from the driveway and crashing into our across-the-street neighborโs mailbox.
I packed up some oats with almond milk and a crumbled Chocolate Cherry Torte Larabar to take with me to the dealership:
and couldnโt help but notice this surplus of almonds while I was scrounging for breakfast ingredients.
Since it would take forever to polish off that giant bag of almonds by myself, I think theyโre destined for macaroon glory.
So how about a little giveaway?
Since the weather is cooling down, I thought it would be fun to talk about how you change and adapt your workouts in the fall weather.
For this giveaway, just leave a comment and let me know what your favorite fall/winter workout is. For me, I take more of my workouts outside to take advantage of the cooler temps, and when it actually gets to the freezing point, lots of hot yoga to warm up.
Iโll pick a random winner tonight at midnight and announce in my am post. The winner will receive a batch of macaroons in a flavor of their choice (chocolate, mocha, blonde, super roon, almond butter chocolate, Meyer lemon lavender).
Just to make things a little more fun, Iโll also add in a $50 Sephora gift card to celebrate all of the new fall colors and shimmer collections that are out.
Hope this makes your Friday a little sweeter!
See ya later today with a Family post <3
xoxo
Gina
********************************This giveaway has ended. Stay tuned for the next one!
My new found love the elliptical! Ps… I’m working my way through your elliptical workouts… kiler! ๐
My favourite fall workout is spin classes because I find it too hot to really enjoy them in the summer (my gym does NOT have air conditioning…). The only sad part is having to walk home all sweaty and freezing my buns off afterwards!
When it gets cold outside, I start to take advantage of the Groupon type deals I’ve purchased for yoga studios/bootcamps/personal training sessions. Its a great way to stay motivated and mix it up when I’m too cold to run outside!
I hope this isn’t a double post – I don’t think the first one when through.
Winter is a great time for me to focus on strength training. I do it year round, but when the weather is nice, I tend to want to get out to hike/bike/run/swim more, so rainy days, colder temps, and darker mornings are a great time to hit the gym, stay inside, and get my lift on.
Unfortunately (in nice weather) and fortunately (in bad weather), my weights workouts are inside and I usually use the treadmill at our rec center to run on weekdays. Although this is my first year running, so I’m looking forward to experiencing the seasons during weekend runs ๐
Living in the south, fall means that I can finally exercise outside again! I’ve been running, taking the dog for long walks, and doing some yoga in the back yard. I’m trying to soak it up as much as possible before the rainy season hits and I’m forced back inside most of the time (I’ll still run in the cold drizzle, but that’s about it).
I live on an escarpment, and there are two sets of stairs separated by a beautiful trail… there is nothing better than jogging the trail with the beautiful fall scenery! The stairs are a FANTASTIC workout too! ๐
What a sweet Friday giveaway! Fall is my fav time of the year. I love to get outdoors in the cool crisp air and take a stroll with the hubby & pups. Have a great weekend Gina!
Speed walking outside since its so gorgeous!
Favorite Fall workout is definitely running with my dogs at the off leash dog park … Beautiful colors, beautiful river, beautiful dogs … Can’t go wrong with that!
Woohoo! Great giveaway! Thanks! I really like being outside more… I feel like October/November are the perfect months for outside running/walking, before the cold weather really hits the Boston area. I try and spend as much time as possible outside, because I know that the winter is filled with treadmill workouts and the walls of the gym!
I love being able to run/walk outside – I load the ipod with audio books and really enjoy the nice weather.
I take advantage of the weather cooling down (never THAT cold in Florida or Louisana, where I just moved) and bike everywhere. It’s my favorite way to get in exercise and enjoy the weather!
Indoor rock climbing to prepare for spring/summer and challenge my strength!
Running outside and hearing the leaves crunch beneath my toes!
My favorite fall workout is running outside…since the weather is not too hot or too cold! Winter, well I live in MT, so you would think I would say skiing or something, but really I don’t have a fav. Winter workout…I usually stick to the treadmill/elliptical so I don’t freeze.
I love to walk outside in the fall. In the winter, skiing burns up the calories!
I love bundling up to run outside when it gets cold – there’s nothing as motivating as being the only runner on the road! Hot yoga is another fave for when the temperatures drop – the worst part is having to leave ๐
definitely snowboarding outside in the cold or circuit training inside!
My favorite fall/winter workout has got to be Bikram Yoga. I miss it during the summer and always love to go back once the temps cool off.
Because of the climate where I live, fall means moving workouts indoors! My favorite is yoga.
I hate the cold weather, but sometimes running in the cold just feels good!
Hey Gina,
My favorite fall workouts are running, biking, and hiking. Any excuse to be outdoors during the cooler weather is what i enjoy. <3
My favorite fall workout is long walks outside. Love the cool temps! When it gets really cold I stick to the treadmill/elliptical inside.
I love to switch things up and go skiing or ice skating. However, living in the South sometimes makes it difficult to do snowy activities so I usually take workouts indoors to the gym (or at home) and lately have been trying to do more hot yoga – love it!
I love to take advantage of the cooler fall temperatures to really push myself in my outdoor runs. It’s so much easier to do intervals, tempo runs and hill sprints when you don’t feel like you’re going to collapse from the heat!
My favorite fall (and winter) workout is more running outside. I would much rather do a long run in cool or cold weather!
My fav is hot power yoga to warm up!
I love to walk outside in the fall. The crisp air and lovely leaves make for an enjoyable work out! Winter time is indoor workouts…although sometimes I like to go sledding when we have enough snow!
The weather is only slightly cooling off here in Los Angeles so far… but I can’t wait for outdoor runs again! There’s nothing better than bundling up for a chilly morning run. ๐
For now, I’m sticking to indoor workouts, like intervals on my treadmill and Physique 57 DVDs.
I run in the afternoons after work when it’s warmer instead of the cold mornings.
I actually like running outside in the FL heat, makes me feel good to sweat. So in the winter I increase my bikram yoga visits to stay in shape! I was in Arizona for work that last year and I know the heat is intense! Glad it is cooler!
It’s hard for me to run outside when it’s cold because I have asthma and it acts up in frigid temperatures so I try to keep it inside. I tend to do more spinning classes because I won’t do as many in the summer because I’d rather be outside running!
My favorite fall workout is running! I love to run but I never manage to do much in the summer because I hate the dreadmill and it’s to hot outside so I really kick it up in the Fall!
I have been hoping to win a batch of your macaroons forEVER.
Ok I already thought you were awesome for giving away macaroons but the Sephora just put it over the edge. That place owns me, haha. You’re so sweet! My fav winter workout is snowboarding for sure! It’s fun and never fails to leave my muscles sore!
I’m looking forward to long, outdoor walks with my pup! She has tons of fur, so it’s too warm for her to walk for long in the summer heat!
I love hiking with all the fall leafs changing colors and not sweating to death doing it, then having some hot milled apple cider!
I love hiking in the fall!
yum! ๐ i have a 2 year old and 3 year old. and they love being outside. they also will ride in our double jogger for well over an hour with no complaints. they just sit back, relax and take it all in. so lately, i’ve been walking/jogging the sidewalks of the n’hood and they grab for bushes and tree and we chit chat. i normally get in about 3 miles while pushing 60+lbs. I call it a pretty good workout! ๐
Hot yoga when it’s cold out is the best!!
I too LOVE warm/hot yoga for my fall and winter workouts! I love walking to the studio (or a room in my house where I set up a space heater) with a hoodie on, knowing I’ll be tossing that source of comfort to indulge in the warmth of my own skin! My body stays warm for a long time after the workout, which is such a plus for those colder winter days!
I love running in the mornings or doing turbofire instead especially since it gets pretty cold here!
I love going to a sweaty spin class when it starts getting cool. Nothing like sweating your butt off at 6am to get you ready for the day!
I am a gym person, so my favorite workouts are usually the same regardless of seasons, but right now I am really loving interval workouts. They get me so sweaty and going outside afterward is nice because the fall breeze cools me down!
Hi Gina!
During the cooler weather I love to take my bootcamp workout outdoors! I use all elements of the outdoors and use all body strength. I also like to incorporate some fun elements such as: hoola hoops, speed hop scotch, ect.
In the winter i LOVE doing tabata training work outs in the show IN MY SNOW PANTS! I end off peeling off my winter jacket because you sure work up a sweat doing burpees and squat jumps in the snow!
hot yoga, definitely! the gym usually feels too cramped for me since everyone is inside rather than outside. and yoga stretches me all out due to so much sitting/cuddling in contrast to outdoor activities ๐
I live in South Florida so my favorite “winter” workout is being able to run outside! This summer nearly killed me with the heat and humidity.
Thanks for hosting another macaroon giveaway — I keep telling myself that one of these days I’ll win! For fall/winter workouts, I’m going to continue running (started this past spring), and really up the strength training too. My poor dumbbells have been neglected lately. =)
Thanks for the giveaway, gina!
I love running or walking outdoors in the fall and taking in the beautiful fall colours. This weekend will be prime!
