Sweet Friday Giveaway
Hi friends! How are you?
[The Bella ball says โHappy Friday]
Itโs another lovely, cool day over here. Itโs very refreshing to walk outside without being blasted with heat.
Iโm a little late blogging this morning since I had to take my car to the dealership to be serviced. The good news is that they offered me a loaner car to have for the day, but I canโt find the emergency brake on it and keep picturing it rolling back from the driveway and crashing into our across-the-street neighborโs mailbox.
I packed up some oats with almond milk and a crumbled Chocolate Cherry Torte Larabar to take with me to the dealership:
and couldnโt help but notice this surplus of almonds while I was scrounging for breakfast ingredients.
Since it would take forever to polish off that giant bag of almonds by myself, I think theyโre destined for macaroon glory.
So how about a little giveaway?
Since the weather is cooling down, I thought it would be fun to talk about how you change and adapt your workouts in the fall weather.
For this giveaway, just leave a comment and let me know what your favorite fall/winter workout is. For me, I take more of my workouts outside to take advantage of the cooler temps, and when it actually gets to the freezing point, lots of hot yoga to warm up.
Iโll pick a random winner tonight at midnight and announce in my am post. The winner will receive a batch of macaroons in a flavor of their choice (chocolate, mocha, blonde, super roon, almond butter chocolate, Meyer lemon lavender).
Just to make things a little more fun, Iโll also add in a $50 Sephora gift card to celebrate all of the new fall colors and shimmer collections that are out.
Hope this makes your Friday a little sweeter!
See ya later today with a Family post <3
xoxo
Gina
********************************This giveaway has ended. Stay tuned for the next one!
i love hot yoga in the fall/winter. it takes the chill off and warms me up to the core!
i’m gonna keep up with the turbofire cause i’m in love, but also, cooler weather makes me feel like my body/bones are tightening up and so i tend to do more yoga in the winter to streeeetch. i’m scared of actual yoga classes though.. so i’m too much of a baby to get out there and try the hot ones, but they intrigue me!
i do have an actual question though. i just switched over to almond milk and i can’t remember when i bought it, but it just occurred to me that it might not be good anymore… how long can you keep opened, refrigerated almond milk before it spoils? i was so so so sick the other day (after using it in my oatmeal in the morning) but i didn’t even think it might be the milk until today. i haven’t used it since and have been fine. but it didn’t smell or taste funky or anything… how do i know???
Sweet Friday Giveaway indeed! I’ve pretty much resigned myself to the fact that I will be cold until May (happens every year) so my favorite winter workout is bikram yoga! Even if I didn’t love yoga, it would be worth it just to be toasty warm for 90 minutes.
shoveling the driveway/sidewalk, or raking up leaves! i’m not even kidding. it has to be done anyway, and if you listen to music while you do it, its not so bad! killer arm AND cardio workout ๐
I love a long bundled up walk! Followed by cookies and cocoa, of course.
I want to win this so bad! I just lost my Sephora lip gloss too ๐
taking a brisk walk, complete with coat and scarf!
If it’s too cold outside to walk I usually do some type of workout dvd inside! Those macaroons look delish <3
I love to run outside in the evenings during fall! I live in SC so anytime I can get outside to run when its NOT 100 degrees with killer humidity is great ๐
I live in nothern Vermont, where it’s very cold and we get tons of snow! My favorite winter exercise is snowshoeing up a mountain side. It’s extremely challenging and the scenery is so beautiful that you have no time to focus on how cold you are! The cup of tea and hot shower that I have waiting for me when I get home are pretty much the most fabulous things ever. ๐
Even though it hurts my throat when I laugh for hours after I run outside in cold weather, I love how easy it is to keep my legs going when it’s not a million degrees!
I’ve been dancing like a maniac in my modern and ballet classes for the past few months, so I think I’m going to balance that out by adding yoga back into my routine. I’ve also been going roller skating to practice for roller derby tryouts next week!
In the fall I loove running and biking outside. In the winter, I bring the workouts to the gym. Don’t love it, but I live in Boston and winters are WAY too cold!
cold weather? you’ll find my booty in the hot studios as much as possible! hot vinyasa is my lover but i just started teaching a hot pilates class at my studio, and I’m so excited about it!
Yes, Hot Yoga please. Living in Ohio is a challenge in the Winter. I love hot yoga!!!
I love running in the fall! I think running and fall go together like almonds and macaroons….can’t have one without the other! ๐
I love walking and running outside in the fall! Being a North Carolina girl, it’s SO HOT from about May-September, so now that it’s finally cooling off, I move ALL my workouts outdoors! ๐
I love long runs in the park in the fall and winter (even in snow). It’s so peaceful, crisp, and invigorating! And, I would really LOVE to win/try your yummy macaroons! ๐
Since im here in California I love to go hiking and outdoor things during this time because its crisp and I’m not freezing my a** off!
I live in Florida…so these cooler temps mean that I can finally take my workout outdoors without planning around the sunrise/sunset! In January & February when it’s really cold, I switch it up with some workout videos instead. ๐
Since fall is already here where I live I have been enjoying my out-door runs A LOT more! Soon I will be leaving for Australia (which a $50 gift card and macaroons wouldn’t hurt to have to get some little treats before I go and being a poor college student I wouldn’t get otherwise) I have been contemplating what work-outs to do there!?! I have been deciding to keep up with my pi-yo or bring back the good ol’ insanity while i’m there!
Who knows maybe i’ll even take up surfing! Should be an adventure!
I just started Turbofire and i love it!! I think that will be my go to cold weather workout for the next few months…..it makes you work up a good sweat for sure.
Trying out some fun new fitness DVDs in the warmth and comfort of my own home!
I love a crisp powerwalk around a lake or park in fun fall winter clothes.
I like to alternate running with outdoor bootcamps a few times a week. BTW, I thought of you last night while I was at the Pitbull/Enrique Iglesias concert when Beto and two Zumba girls came out on stage during Pitbull’s set! I think they even did the move you mentioned in your post earlier this week ๐
Love yoga! Or the occasional downhill skiing!
I love doing step aerobic classes.
I love do to hot yoga when it starts to get cold out!
: )
That’s def a Costco sized bag of almonds!
When it gets cooler during the fall and winter months, I like running outside [if it’s not freezing or snowing!], I love the fall smells and sights ๐ If it’s too cold I’ll hit up the gym… But I love winter sports which totes count as a cooler weather workout- skiing, hiking, ice skating, and I’d love to try snowshoeing!
What an awesome giveaway, Gina!! I would LOVE to win this. Like you, I like to workout outside more when it gets chilly (in the fall) – but once it’s winter, back indoors I go to make use of the elliptical, yoga, and pilates!
My workouts don’t really change too much being in FL. It’s either too hot or too cold for outside workouts. We only have a month or two of “perfect” weather. During those days I’d love to get back into the bootcamps I go too since they’re mostly outside.
I love taking long walks to look at the fall colours! Its a short window when the trees are just beautiful so we make sure to get out alot!
I love running outdoors in the fall/winter. I love running during the holidays and looking at Christmas lights in my neighborhood (and adjoining neighborhoods)…it’s usually very quiet and peaceful and it’s so pretty! It makes the run seem like it’s flying by (added bonus).
No question…Bikram ! I go to the Bikram School off of Oracle (here in Tucson) in the winter.
I love to go on more out door runs in the fall and then take it inside with P90x, turbofire and youtube videos in the winter.
In the fall I love to jog outside. In the winter, I workout in the gym on the treadmill or in the weight room ๐
Riding dirt bikes is my favorite fall time activity! Can’t beat the cooler temps while wearing all that gear!!!
Fall is the perfect running weather in Boston, so I take advantage while I can. When it gets too cold I have to move my workouts to the gym, but I try to mix up the treadmill by doing intervals and working on my speed.
Apple Picking!! great workout climbing trees and lugging huge bags full of fresh apples! Plus you can cook/bake with them!!
Fall is perfect walking weather! I love the fall! The temps are perfect to get in a nice outdoors workout.
I definitely take advantage of more classes at the gym when it starts to get too cold to be outside! It’s a nice change of pace.
In the winter I love any kinda workout that really warms me up and gets me sweaty. I have to get started with more warm ups to get the body loosened up from the chilly temps. Also, running outside with my Lululemon jacket with built in mittens is a must!!
I love Physique 57 or Bar Method dvds in the morning- gets me warmed up for the rest of the fall/winter day!
When the weather cools off I love taking my runs from the treadmill to the trails. Dallas has so many great trails, I love taking advantage of them.
I love getting outside to run when the weather starts to cool down and I’m no longer trapped in doors on the treadmill like a hamster on a wheel.
I like to run in the fall, but Michigan gets mighty cold in the winter and I have to move indoors to the gym come December. We don’t have hot yoga around here (kind of a small town), but you can bet I’d be doing it to warm myself up if we did!
after sweating my butt off all summer, i love running outside in the fall. i think anywhere between 40-50 degrees is the perfect temperature for running.
I just started playing indoor soccer, and I absolutely love it! No cold weather or rain to get in the way ๐
i LOVE running outside in the fall. its my favorite time of year and my favorite activity! perfect ๐
I absolutely love running in the fall, from the beautiful blue sky, crisp air days to the drizzly gray ones. I could run all day in the fall. And on running rest days, its yogasu http://theyogafactory.com/Yogasu.aspx…. 60 minute class combining the bosu ball with hot yoga. It is awesome. I have triceps I could only dream about last year ๐
