Un-beetable Lunch + a Giveaway

Heyyyyy ๐Ÿ˜€ How are ya? Hope your day is going well <3 I loved reading about which workouts get ya excited. Itโ€™s always a good idea to take the โ€œworkโ€ out of working out ๐Ÿ˜€

Itโ€™s going to STORM here any second.

I know this because Viesa can tell when itโ€™s going to rain:

My little Shiba chicken ๐Ÿ˜‰

This morning, I got some work done and snacked on my beloved smoothie whilst typing away:

After a while, I went up to the yoga room to TURBOFIRE it up!

Oh. My. Stars.

What a workout. Today was Fire 45 + Stretch 10 and I loved every schweaty, booty-shaking, jumping second. โ€˜Twas amazeballs.

Electrolytes:

coco water

For lunch, I really wanted a salad beast but our greens stash is dwindling, so something even better happened.

I peeled a giant beet, chopped it up and seasoned with olive oil, sea salt and pepper.

Mark of a hardcore beet lover:

After roasting for 20 minutes at 400*, I added the chopped beet to an oat bran pita with arugula, goat gouda, Fig vinegar and Garlic Gold.

pita

Mind was blown. I LOVE beet + goat cheese + arugula and in pita form, it was incredible.

Dessert was the last raw cacao-cayenne truffle:

Guess Iโ€™ll have to make some more ๐Ÿ˜‰

As you guys have probably figured out, I havenโ€™t been eating as raw as usual lately. Our organic produce has been scant here in Valdizzy, but Iโ€™ve enjoyed quite a few raw desserts (like this raw strawberry tart and multiple macaroons!).

Iโ€™m pretty stoked because Pure Market Express (a raw food delivery service, reviewed *here*) is offering an awesome deal on shipping right now- itโ€™s $10 for orders over $50. This is pretty amazing because shipping is a beast and is usually very expensive in order to get the food delivered quickly. When you add $50 worth of product to your cart, the $10 shipping deal will happen automatically. Baller.

Executive Chef Rebecca Irey:

rebecca

Iโ€™m really excited to order some food from Pure Market Express this week (love the Mexi rice!!!) โ€“I know how to make it but food always tastes better when someone else does the work- and am even more excited that Rebecca is offering a giveaway for yaโ€™ll.

Giveaway time!!!

-One lucky winner will receive a free entree or dessert from Pure Market Express

Bonus: Iโ€™ll throw in some raw cacao macaroons ๐Ÿ˜‰

How to enter?

-Check out the website and leave a comment with what you would choose for your freebie (entree or dessert)

Winner will be announced before my AM weights sesh tomorrow, 7/13 (around 8AM EST).

Readyโ€ฆ setโ€ฆ go!

xoxo,

Gina

    The raw pizza!!!!
I need some advice…I am having such a hard time sticking with eating healthy. I do really good until about 3 or 4 o’clock and then I just give it up! I am so frustrated and don’t know what to do to kick this! Any advice from all would be really appreciated ๐Ÿ™

    • Jennifer Plourde on July 12, 2010 at 5:09 pm

Make sure you’re eating enough up until that point. A lot of times when we are focused on eating healthy, we tend not to eat enough. Also, you could try healthier sweets (dried cherries do it for me) or a small portion of a less healthy food to curb any cravings.

      • Ashley Robert on July 12, 2010 at 5:24 pm

Thanks Jennifer! Those are some good tips! I have about 60 pounds to lose so I really need to stick with this! I just feel like there is so much information out there and I don’t know what the best “path” to my weight loss is?

  7. Katheryn on July 12, 2010 at 4:58 pm

I would pick chocolate cheesecake or chocolate macaroons.

  8. Whitney P. on July 12, 2010 at 4:59 pm

  11. Carrie on July 12, 2010 at 5:00 pm

Not gonna lie, I really want the Chocolate Cheesecake or the Chocolate Ganache Raspberry Layer Cake. I have a sweet tooth if you can’t tell.

I’m getting some golden beets in my CSA box tomorrow, really looking forward to trying a version of your pita with whole wheat flat breat + feta + herb of choice (not sure yet, but my arugula plant is growing fast!)

  12. Kristina on July 12, 2010 at 5:01 pm

Mmm, I have wanted to try them for a while… if I win this I’d pick an entree (possibly the salmon + hollandaise, or the lasagna…) and I’d LOVE to pair it with your ROONS !

Oh, boy. This is tough – everything looks so yummy. I guess for an entree it would be the pepperoni pizza. For dessert it is hard to choose between the key lime pie and the lemon pie. I guess the lemon pie would be my choice if I can only have one!

    Thanks.

Mac n’ cheese all the way!!

By the way, one idea I had for a post you could do is on hormones and women. Im pretty sure my hormones are way out of wack because I get adult acne all along my jaw and chin…and I think it has a lot to do with your liver? There are ways to cleanse your liver and get your hormones balanced, but theres just so much information. I am going to make an appt with the owner of my local health food store soon, but would be curious if you have any input. Thanks!

The tostad looks fantastic – and that strawberry shortcake is too pretty to eat – almost!

Poor puppy – my dog hates firecrackers/fireworks, but thunder doesn’t seem to bother him. I just give him a big hug to keep him from shaking!
