Tony devotions

I love, love the mala beads that Tiny Devotions sent me a year ago. [AutoCorrect changed “‘mala’ to ‘male.'” I got a good laugh out of that.] I really think they bring me luck and good energy. I put the bracelets on when I’m having an “off” day and something about looking down to see them makes me feel better and turn things around. Whenever I need an extra boost or bit of good vibes, you can bet our booty I have my mala beads on. Each color cord has a different meaning, so you can choose to wear one or two, or the entire stack.

From their website:

“Our Tiny Devotions mala beads are perfect for beginnings and endings – goals, struggles, worries, dreams, intentions and prayers.

Mala beads transcend cultures and religions and can be found in some form in nearly every tradition around the world.

The word bead, historically coming from the word “prayer” or “to pray”.

These sacred and beautiful beads help us live in the moment – staying present to the beauty of life.

We combine rudraksha seeds with semi precious crystals and pearls to create beautiful designer malas that each have their own specific intention. Rudraksha seeds are known as the eyes or tears of Shiva – and are worn for their protective and sacred qualities.”

Tiny Devotions kindly offered to send a lucky reader the abundance stack of mala beads, valued at $108.

  19. Janice on June 5, 2012 at 2:13 pm

My goal is to switch my goals from end point goals to action goals, i.e. bad goal “I’ll lose x # of pounds by some future date” good goal “I’ll be active at least six days a week”. So I guess my goal is to change my thinking about goals! 🙂

  20. Morgan J on June 5, 2012 at 2:14 pm

I’ve signed up for a full marathon this year so that’s a goal for sure! I’m also trying to get in the habit of waking up and hittin the gym immediately to get it out of the way!

My goal is keeping a positive attitude during my husband’s 12 month deployment. It’s easy to have a negative attitude towards this stuff (bc it sucks!) but I know that if I spend a year of my life moping and miserable and pissed off about it, that’s just a year of my life wasted. So far I’ve signed up for and completed a half marathon, dove into work and am seeing the payoff there, taken this opportunity to form better friendships with people here (I’m farrrrrrrrrr from home), and, unfortunately, have cut out some people who are too negative about the deployment and were bringing me down too much (I’m sure you know those people, who post daily about how sad they are and how this is the worst year ever, and who post links to articles every time there is an incident over there).

  22. Jessica @ Busy Living Healthy on June 5, 2012 at 2:15 pm

  28. Erica B on June 5, 2012 at 2:18 pm

After running my first race last year, my goal is to run a half marathon this fall. Running is my way to relax and practice weight management. It has been hard getting back into the swing of things post Canadian winter and these would be a great reminder to not only push myself but to take time for myself too 🙂

  29. Beth on June 5, 2012 at 2:18 pm

My goal is to focus more on how exercise makes me feel, rather than the physical effects, like looking good in a bikini. Sometimes it’s easier to get out of bed in the morning when I remind myself how much more energy I’ll have and how proud of myself for getting to the gym.

Other goal – participate in the summer shape-up each week! Can’t wait!

  30. Cathy on June 5, 2012 at 2:20 pm

Hi, Gina! My goal is to successfully transition into my second career and graduate as a Registered Dietitian. I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in business four years ago and after a TON of soul searching, I decided to quit my job and go for my passion. It’s been a wonderful and tough beginning and I most definitely identify with needing some good vibes on a tough day and friendly reminder that my goal is just as much about the journey as the end result!

  38. Lauren W. on June 5, 2012 at 2:30 pm

After a rough last couple of months, my goal is enter my 30th year happy and healthy and to make more decisions based on what I want instead of what others expect.
HOLLA FOR MY MALA! (sh*t yogis say…never gets old)

  39. Ann on June 5, 2012 at 2:35 pm

At the beginning of the year, I have changed to a clean diet, and new exercise program. I already taught body pump and ran, but this program completely changed my body . I lost about 12 pounds (I was not overweight in the least), but saw the lean muscle that I have been working hard to obtain. My online coach and friends have encouraged me to do a figure competition this August. I am very self conscious and barely wear a bikini on the beach, but I am going for it!! I am entering a Fitness America Pageant in August, bikini division. And I am 45 years old to boot!!! YAY me!!
