Guest Post: Julie from PBF
Hey guys! We’re in San Diego this week enjoying some family time, so I thought it would be a great opportunity to invite some friends over here for guest posting while I’m away- I’ll be back with my usual workouts and shenanigans later this week 🙂 Today’s guest post is from Julie, whom I’ve had the opportunity to hang out with several times. She’s just as wonderful as you’d imagine her to be, and I’m so excited to have her blogging over here today! Enjoy <3
Hello Fitnessista fans! My name is Julie and I am the blogger behind Peanut Butter Fingers, a light-hearted little place on the internet where I blog about my life with my husband and our insane dog.
I frequently feature my workouts, recipes, fashion updates and random musings. It’s a fun little space, but I’m excited to be here with you guys today since Gina’s blog is one of my all-time favorites! Thank you for the wonderful opportunity, Gina!
When Gina reached out to me about guest posting on her blog, she sent along three topics she thought might be interesting to address so I’ll follow her fun fitness and food-related format and get to it!
- What is your favorite way to sweat?
My all-time favorite workouts are circuit workouts. I get bored really easily in the gym and find that circuit workouts that target a bunch of different muscle groups and incorporate heart-pounding cardio keep me interested. It’s hard to get bored when you’re not spending more than a minute on a certain exercise!
Here is one of my all-time favorite circuit workouts:
Time absolutely flies by in the gym when I tackle that one!
- What is your favorite ingredient and how do you use it?
The first thing that came to my mind when I saw this question was old fashioned oats, though I rarely use them to make oatmeal. I think oats are very versatile and I enjoy using them to make a variety of breakfasts, including:
- Oatmeal Cookie Dough Overnight Oats (Dairy free)
- What is something you’re excited about or a goal that you have?
I recently decided to get my personal training certification and am really excited to learn everything I can about fitness. Another fitness-related goal I have is to complete a two or three-day walk for breast cancer in honor of my mom. I have my eye on the Avon 2-Day walk in Charlotte, North Carolina at the end of October!

Thank you again to Gina for allowing me to hang out with you guys on her blog today!
Great post. Those pancakes looks yuuuuummmmy!!
I’m a big fan of both PB Fingers and HRG! Great choices for guest bloggers, Gina!
Love both of these blogs! And those recipes look delish! One of my fitness goals is to work up to running longer and longer intervals. I’m trying to switch it up from a long and steady elliptical workout to a shorter, but more intense cardio workout! That and blogging more often!
I love all your non oatmeal oat recipes – especially the protein pancakes. 🙂
Yay, I love Julie! Two of my all-time favorite bloggers coming together is a wonderful thing 🙂 Great post! I’ve made both the banana bread protein pancakes and the banana coconut pecan baked oatmeal and they’re really great recipes. That looks like a really good workout, too, although I haven’t tried it yet – I do love Julie’s interval incline treadmill workouts, though!
How great it is to see one of my favorite bloggers on one of my other favorite blogs!! Julie’s circuit workouts are awesome btw! 🙂
I love Julie’s blog. And have definitely enjoyed a few of her recipes and workouts as well.
Awesome cardio circuit! Circuits are definitely great to keep things interesting and moving- literally!
I loooove PBF!! And I agree with you: i prefer circuits as it’s less boring than normal cardio! I just did one circuit this morning (abs and arms workouts, only things i can do now…) and loved it! xxx Nadja
I love Julie’s blog! I am so glad she guest posted today! And the overnight cookie dough oats…AMAZING!!!
Question -Is it OK to do circuit workouts as often as you want? Or is it similar to lifting weights where you want to give your body a day of rest inbetween? 🙂 I also get bored at the gym and think these circuits would keep me entertained and keep me coming back!
Those pancakes look so good!
All of those breakfast recipes look fantastic. Thanks for sharing! 🙂
thanks so much for having me, gina!! 🙂 hope you, tom and olivia are having a blast on your vacation!
Yummmyyy! Those pancakes look so good! I just started Jamie Eason’s 12 week LiveFit program – my goal is to stick with it ’til the end.
Aw 2 of my bloggers on the same page! Great post, Julie!
2 of my fave bloggers*
Yay! Julie, I’m glad you got to guest post. I love your blog!!! I just read about Sadie and the ferocious turtle 🙂
I have a goal to get my fitness endurance back up by the end of the year and run a 5K at Christmas. I had a baby a few months ago and suffered from an injury. I’m just now getting to exercise and run again after 4 months of nothing! I was sad to see how much endurance I had lost but that’s ok. This just gives me something to work at! And blogs like yours and Gina’s are gonna help me get there.
Great choice of guest blogger! I love PBF <3
Just did PBF’s cardio circuit! I am a sweaty beast!! Thanks for sharing!
I love oats SO much!!!! <3
