10/4: Friday Faves {sneak giveaway}
-My two favorite people in the world, relaxing on the hammock together.
Livi now asks me to please braid her hair most mornings. She’ll tell me if she wants a braid, Dorothy braids or a bun. I tell ya.
-Salmon tacos. We had taco night this week, and this 15-minute meal was blackened salmon with lettuce, avocado and a cumin-lime yogurt sauce on corn tortillas. I heated up some black beans to go with it and boom! Dinner was served.
Dessert: BTO
(Nutella and Reese’s flavor with Reese’s, hot peanut butter and chocolate chipsโฆ)
-A new kombucha scoby! The “mother” scoby is usually only good for about 3 batches, and none of my baby scobies were strong enough, so it was time to replenish the stash. I have a giant batch of kombucha fermenting away in the pantry and am so excited to play with some holiday-esque flavors ๐
–These two posts about the reality of postpartum recovery. Wish I could have read these about two years ago ๐
–This article about knocking doors down and never giving up on your goals. Check it out if you’ve been needed a little motivation boost!
-Physique 57’s new website and an all-new cardio sculpt option for their online classes. I haven’t been able to do P57 at home with half marathon training, but I’m so excited to check out their new workouts when the half is over. If you check out the new ones, let me know how they are!
-Fall decor. As soon as this post publishes, I’m heading out to the garage to bring in all of the Halloween decorations. Scary excited ๐
-Another giveaway! There are THREE going on right now– be sure to enter if you haven’t already. You could win a 16GB tablet, a gorgeous cookbook + set of measuring spoons, or these awesome sneaks.
I asked Reebok if they’d be willing to give away a pair of the new CrossFit Nano Speed shoes since I love them so much. A lucky reader will win a pair of the new Nanos in size/color of their choice (based on product availability). All you have to do: leave a comment with a fitness plan you have for the weekend!
Me? It’s another 10-miler on the books for tomorrow.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend <3

I have a dressage lesson this weekend! We only get a chance to ride with this trainer about three times a year (and her lessons are expensive!) but she makes us and our horses WORK and is a great teacher. It’s totally worth it! I couldn’t ride in those beautiful sneakers but I’d love to win a pair anyway!
I’m doing my longest [20 mile] training run for the Marine Corps marathon!
I convinced my husband to do a half marathon with me in april. Neither of us are runners so it will take us that long to get ready. So this weekend our fitness plans include getting new running gear and mental preparation!

Lots of walking and yoga. Plus a run Sunday.
In May, this old lady (56 years old) decided that she wanted to do items on her bucket list! One was running a 5k. I worked at it and about in August, my exercise-induced asthma resurrected itself. Two weeks ago, the dr gave me an all-clear to start back up. This morning, I wogged (that’s what I call walking and jogging) 4.64 miles. It felt great! I am determined to fulfill my bucket list wish and sure could use a pair of good running shoes to help me thru this journey!
Oh fun! Running a 5k tomorow morning and probably a spin class on Sunday.
I plan on going to hot yoga both Saturday and Sunday. I recently got back into it and I already notice a difference! I’m less stressed, less tired, and happier! More yoga, please !

On Saturday my dad and I are going for a 30 mile bike ride. On Sunday, my fiancee and I are going paddleboarding.
This Saturday I’m going to the gym to get some cardio in on the Elliptical. I usually do intervals for about 45 minutes. On Sunday I plan on doing a few Blogilates videos from home because I have midterms this week and don’t want to leave the house because I know it’ll distract me from studying, but it’s still important to get workout in!
My absolute favorite doughnut is Boston Creme. I eat around the doughnut and save the Creme for last. Yum!
