Meg: Winged Tips
Iโve had a few people ask me how I do my eyeliner, so I put together a simple how-to. Winged tips can be an easy way to add a little vintage flare to your look, or just jazz up an overplayed eyeliner routine!
What youโll need:
Eye liner- I use Macโs Fluidline, but you can use an eyeliner marker, or anything else you have!
Brush- If you use a gel formula like I do, youโll need a fine tip brush. Mine used here is Macโs 208 brush (meant for eyebrows) but they have an even thinner 209.
Patience ๐
- Line your top lid, staying as close to your lash line as you can. Donโt wing out the sides yet.
- Now, lightly wing up the corner using the tip of your brush. Youโll want it to wing out a little more than 90 degrees.
- Finally, blend the wing by smoothing the lash line and connecting at the tip of your wing. This will fill in the winged space and make it a smooth fluid line.
Thatโs it! The trick is patience, your lines wonโt always be straight the first try and getting both sides to match can be a pain, but youโll get it. Practice makes perfect!
To see my #1 fashion icon give a tutorial on winged tips, check out the following link. She uses a liquid liner, which makes for a much thinner wing:

Meg, I miss your other Blogs ๐
While I love this look and have all the tools, it’s pretty hard to do with hooded eyelids. ๐
looks great! I love eyeliner but I’ve never tried gel…I will soon!
I always try to do a wing on my eye and end up messing it up. I’ll have to try these tips tomorrow morning when I am beautifying myself. ๐
I love winged tipped eyeliner; I do it almost every time I wear makeup. My husband isn’t big on me wearing makeup, but he loves when I do “Cleopatra eyes” (his term) and red lips. I guess he’s into the retro look!
I’m confused on the degrees…wouldn’t 90 degrees be straight up?
DEM EYES THO
we miss you. that is all
Meg you do a fantastic job lining your eyes and thank you for this beauty show and tell.
Thanks Meg! I was admiring your eye makeup while reading one of your other posts. I’ll have to try this soon!
Thanks so much, Meg! I love this look and have always wanted to do it. Like Leah, I’ve admired your eye makeup before too…mad skillz, girl!
