A brilliant IDEA

Hi guys! Howโ€™s the day going? Hope youโ€™re having a wonderful Tuesday!

Packing mountain is currently in effect, since Iโ€™m heading to Anaheim for the IDEA World Fitness Convention and BlogFest!ย

Are you going to be there? Iโ€™m stoked to take new (and fave!) classes, and signed up for some fascinating lectures (mainly focusing on Pre- and postnatal fitness, and HIIT). Iโ€™m also so excited to hang out with blog friends. If you see me, be sure to say hi! Iโ€™ll be the girl with the giant bag oโ€™ snacks if you forgot any ๐Ÿ˜‰ I LOVE fitness conferences and seem to do a mediocre job of fueling myself. Last year, I remember Kristin had all of these amazing snacks and breads and nut butters with her and I was like shoot. I need to pack some better snacks next time.

Hereโ€™s what Iโ€™ve got in the stash to easily enjoy during lectures and in between classes:

(Coconut waters, Shakeology portioned out + the pink protein shaker the Pilot picked up for me, some fruit, energy balls, plantain chips and Perky Jerky.)

Iโ€™ll be going out to dinners and lunches with the girls, but Iโ€™ve found that snacks are pretty hard to come by at conferences. Previous tactics include raiding the expo sample tables in between classes haha.

My first IDEA conference was last year, and was by far the best fitness conference Iโ€™ve ever attended. They offer an incredible variety of classes from world-renowned instructors, in addition to top lecturers in an array of fitness and nutrition-related topics. Iโ€™m confident that Iโ€™ll come back inspired and armed with new teaching skills and knowledge to share with my classes <3

I was so excited that Ashley and her sister Lauren came to take this morningโ€™s class. I loved chatting with them afterwards, and hit up the juice truck on my way to the car.

    Have fun I was supposed to attend this year but unfortunately a serious injury has prevented that. I will live the conference through your update. ๐Ÿ™‚

    Perky Jerky! So good.

    By the way, I work part-time for a fitness promoter (body building, bikini, physique, etc.) and we have an event in San Diego this weekend if you want to come and check it out! He’s actually one of the biggest fitness promoters in the world. It’s not at all health oriented, and thus is not really my thing, but the shows are pretty entertaining. Kind of the way a circus is entertaining. Haha! There are alway fitness companies there with samples of protein products and whatnot, so as a fitness instructor, you might be interested! I’d totally comp your ticket if you want to stop by. But like I said, you’re much more health oriented than the competitive fitness world, as am I. So you might just be grossed out by all the over-the-top muscles. Anyway, have fun at IDEA conference! I want to eat all your snacks. ๐Ÿ˜›

    Yay! Looking forward to seeing you there! I’ve got a bag full of snacks etc. in my suitcase and plan to have the taxi driver stop at Whole Foods on our way to the hotel to stock up. I can’t live off bars the whole time ๐Ÿ™‚

    I’m so excited and leave tomorrow for the conference! Hope to see you there! My husband said “wait…you workout and then go to lectures all sweaty??” Yes!! It’s the best part about a fitness conference! Yippee!

    That Perky Jerky looks delicious! After looking at the photos you posted, I definitely was able to create some fun snacks and outfits for my workout routines ๐Ÿ™‚

    I feel like a huge problem with my diet and exercise is the lack of innovation. A lot of it is routine and it gets very tiresome and boring. But after reading articles like this, it’s refreshing to know how much more creative I can be with both my outfits (to look sexy) and my snacks as long as I put some thought into it.

    Hi Gina! I’ve been trying to make amazeballs but they’re always super dry and don’t come together in neat balls like yours. What am I doing wrong? I tried adding water but it doesn’t really work. Thanks!

      add more maple syrup or more nut butter. it helps when the nut butter is super drippy/liquidy

    I’ll be at IDEA and Blogfest and I can’t wait! I’m planning my snacks too. It’s even harder when you’re vegan. I always seem to feel so hungry during these things, so I’m trying to be smart and have plenty of food with me. Hope to see you there!
