Party at the FM
Heyyyyy ๐ How are ya? So glad you guys liked the tamale how-to post! They seem intimidating at first, but I promise theyโre super easy to make.
Farmerโs market was bumpinโ today!
So many amazing vendors.
Madre and I took Bella with us to see what we could find, and met up with Michele and her dad ๐
There were the usual goodies (cheese, meats, veggies, fruits, emu oil, soaps, lotions, salsas) and some fun new stuff, like homemade organic dog treats, teas, and a goat cheese booth.
The goods:
Beautiful goat cheese, perfect tomatoes, prickly pear syrup, beets and carrots for juicing
Peas and carrots dog treats for the hounds
and a pound of soft, caramel-ly dates for that one guy Iโm in love with ๐
Todayโs b-fast:
Coffee steel cut GF oats (with a pack of Via, almond milk and Stevia), egg whites and smoked salmon
Iโm off to visit my dadoo– hope youโre having an amazing day <3
See ya in the morning with my inspiration board post!
xoxo
Gina
Something to think:

I’m looking forward to your inspiration board post! I won’t have mine done by tomorrow, but it’s in the works.
I’m jealous of your access to farmer’s markets and all the interesting goodies (prickly pear syrup!). In upstate NY, it’s more limited at this time of year (not to mention…too cold to be wandering around a farmer’s market)!
Your breakfast looks fab…I may take a stab at it tomorrow.

Ohh those dates look so fresh and delish!! Fewer wrinkles = softer texture and wayy better taste. Lurve. Are you still asking people to send their inspiration board pics? I made mine today!!
The weather looks so amazing there! Our farmer’s markets won’t start again until the spring. We are covered in snow!
Your tamales look really good. It is interesting to see different methods of making them. We make them completely different in NM. ๐ We put red chili in ours.
Bella is SO cute! And her little coat is adorable! Matches your background haha! ๐
I am so envious that you have a farmers market to go to this time of year. What I wouldnt give for farm fresh, local fruits and veggies (aside from what’s at Whole Foods of course!)
I really need to try your coffee oats! It’s funny how you think you don’t need/want coffee in you life anymore then when you have it, it’s the best thing in the world!
I gave it up in college but as soon as grad school started I was back at it ๐ Now, I wouldn’t give up my morning cup for anything! haha
Happy New Year chica!
I’m so jealous you have a farmers market year-round. ๐ Michigan doesn’t have that. Milwaukee (Wisconsin) has an indoor winter market, but I moved away before it opened. ๐ Hope you’re having a good day!
Love your farmers’ market finds, as usual! I can’t wait to see your inspiration board. One of these days I’ll get on board (*giggle/groan*) and make one myself! ๐
LOL
Just the way you described those dates – caramely – has me craving them!
Caramely dates? Sign me up! I’m working on my inspiration board right now! Can’t wait to see everyone’s tomorrow! ๐
oh those dates look amazing!!!!!! I may need to make a rode trip to tuscon and get some ๐ Hope you have a great rest of the day!
i just had a date with some dates.. so creamy and good, perfect when i want something sweet! they never let me down ๐
I miss the outdoor farmer’s market. It’s just not the same going indoors even if the produce is just as awesome.
Love your flower/outdoor pictures right now. We have about four inches of snow and our high today was ten, yes ten, degrees! Have a great week…
Looks like a fun day!
“Friends don’t let friends eat farm fish” haha, wild caught all the way! ๐
I only recently learned how awful farmed salmon is. I have to say, living in the Twin Cities, the sunny warm pictures with fresh produce makes me more than envious.
Daaaaaates! Thanks, hottie ๐ I’ll return the favor with some dates when I get home. Don’t even get me started on the tamales… <3
we’ll talk about that ๐
Bella’s sweater is cuter than most of mine ๐
Love the FM finds! I love love love farmer’s markets and getting local, organic, wholesome awesome stuff!
Our farmer’s market today…well, I slept thru that one…whoops ๐ and inside just did some damage at Target.
Those dates you got for the pilot look beyond good….I could eat a pound of dates I swear…i love them sooo much!
Are there ever any good farmers markets in or around Valdosta?? I miss the amazing ones that Tucson had to offer!
Did your Dog like the biscuits.

hey lew!
yes she LOVED them. the lady who made them gave her samples and she was shaking her tail the whole time, and then sat pretty so she would get some more
lol Honestly, I can’t believe that’s your January! ๐
I live in the Rockies, where we’re probably knee deep in snow. I’m going to have to wait until May for any Farmer’s Markets to come back my way. So for now I’ll live vicariously through you bloggies down South!
My kids call my husband Dadoo too. ๐ So cute! I love Farmers Markets but do not go enough!
i’m wishing i lived close to such a fabulous farmer’s market! we have a few here, but they are pretty small.
I’m so jealous that you have an awesome farmer’s market to attend this time of year! I’ve got five months to go before ours starts back up…
I love Farmer’s Markets! They are super fun! ๐
Hi there! I loved your idea for an inspiration board for the New Year & I posted my own a few days ago. You can see it at
http://infitation.wordpress.com/ Hope you have a great New Year & I love following your blog for it’s positive encouraging content – plus I’m an Air Force wife too, so I can relate ๐
Thanks for the idea for the inspiration board! I used to do one (a smaller one that would fit in my journal)..but I sorta forgot about doing it every year for a while now until I started reading your blog and got “inspired” once again. Check it out when you get a chance..

Happy New Year to you and your readers!!
Bella looks for freakin cute!
can’t wait to see all the inspiration boards
ooh what are you going to use the prickly pear syrup for? The restaurant where I used to work had a prickly pear margarita and it was pretty much to die for!
not sure yet! those sound amazing though!
my inspiration board will be up tomorrow http://iheartkiwiws.wordpress.com
Thanks Gina for all you do, it’s an inspiration, and I can’t wait to make some tamales!!
I found your blog through Keri’s Blue Eyed Runner Blog. ๐ New follower.
Farmer’s markets are the best….it’s too cold in Eastern WA for that to be year round–I’m so jealous of your local eats!
hey jess,
welcome to the little blog ๐
i’ve never been to wa, but heard it’s beautiful!
Bella has a jacket! Sooo cute ๐
I love that quote, and my mouth is watering at those fm goods!
I am jealous that you get to frequent an farmer’s market in the winter.
Ah, I’m jealous! My FM is on Saturday and I usually go every week but it was closed yesterday due to the New Years holiday. good finds this week – btw, can’t wait to make those tamales soon, they look delish!!
ahh i just missed our FM today. i looove farmers markets though. and i like today’s quote.
This makes me miss our outdoor farmer’s market! I can’t wait til it starts up again in the summer! ๐
I don’t have any pups yet, but if I ever plan on having one, she has to be like Bella! Can’t wait to see your inspiration board!
