A one-car family

Hi friends ๐Ÿ˜€ How was your day? Hope itโ€™s been great ๐Ÿ™‚

Weโ€™ve been busy bees over here. No one showed for my early Zumba class โ€“mayjah sad face- so we went to pick up the car from being serviced and ended up at Beyond Bread.

The day they start serving gluten-free bread, Iโ€™m having a party. And youโ€™re all invited.

The Pilot enjoyed a Danish while we waited for his to-go meal, and I demolished most of his orange juice ๐Ÿ˜€

His feast of feasts:

bfast

Potato pancakes + an egg, turkey, onion, cheese, roasted red pepper sandwich

My at-home oatmeal with blueberries:

oats

-1/2 C GF oats cooked in water

-frozen organic blueberries, added right before it was finished cooking

-sea salt and cinnamon

It was everything I wanted ๐Ÿ™‚

We had lots of errands to run today and got most of that ninja-kicked. Lunch was the other half of last nightโ€™s Choice Greens salad:

salad

The salad beasts are SO giant, I asked if theyโ€™d mind splitting it into two for me last night. Dinner and lunch, done. Baller.

-Mixed greens, romaine

-albacore tuna

-chickpeas

-kalamata olives

-artichoke hearts

-sundried tomatoes

-avocado

-hard boiled egg

I know, right?

Weโ€™ve been going out to eat WAY more often than prefer lately. We havenโ€™t made grocery shopping a priority, especially since my appetite is still all over the place, so weโ€™ve been winging it. Going out to eat so often feels gross and is a major money sucker, so Iโ€™m hoping we get to the store tomorrow for some staples.

Another thing weโ€™ve been doing that Iโ€™m not a fan of?

Sharing a car.

Ok, ok, so it was my idea for the Pilot to sell his Jeep and fly out here.

Buuuuut, we were planning on getting him a car as soon as he got to Tucson. He doesnโ€™t want to take money out of our mutual for a new car until the house loan goes through, but I talked to the bank and they said it will have no effect on our loan processing.

We only fight during two times: sometimes while heโ€™s gone, and often while heโ€™s driving. I always tease him that I have no idea how he flies a plane for a living ๐Ÿ˜‰ He says itโ€™s all in my head.. and often asks me if Iโ€™ve ever driven with myself.

The bonus: weโ€™re being eco-friendly in the meantime ๐Ÿ™‚

Iโ€™m going to work on a fun fashion post and then itโ€™s workout time up in herre.

Have a fabulous night <3

xoxo

Gina

Are you a one-car family? Are you a better driver than your significant other?(hahah)

we have one car…we’re lucky to be able to use public transit here in Seattle…although when we drive i’m definetly the better driver ๐Ÿ™‚

My husband and I have been carpooling for the last year and a half and it works out really well since we have similar work schedules/locations. I think he drives like a grandpa some of the time and he thinks I’m a little aggressive, but he likes to be the one to drive and I love to let him, then I just get to relax on the way, and I usually do my makeup in the car which saves me time getting ready. We actually have two jeeps and a motorcycle on top of our commuter car, but we are selling them.

Beyond bread is seriously one of the biggest things I miss about Tucson! mmm

My BF and I share a car. He also sold his when we moved. I don’t like the one-car thing at all, but it hasn’t been too disruptive. I live close enough to walk to my job and he is considerate about coming home right after work in case I want to do errands. But I still don’t like it and can’t wait until he/we can afford a 2nd car!

my hubs and i share a car…we have the entire time we’ve been married. at first he was in school and could take public transportation…now he changed career paths and we work at the same place and carpool. it’s frustrating at times but we make it work for the most part…and like you said, it makes me happy to help the environment in our own little way ๐Ÿ™‚

My fiance got into a crash in January, and we’ve been a one-car household since then because he’ll lose his license if he gets into another accident before next January. I hate it and want to bite him, especially since he has absolutely no concept of how much it inconveniences me. Since it’s summer, I ride my bike 3+ days per week to work, which is alleviating some of the problems now. Grrrr.

Random question: Do you equate your out-of-whack appetite to anything in particular? I sometimes get that too, but obv we lead very different lives lol. Just wondering if you have any thoughts?

We’re a one-car family. My husband and I have different opinions on who is a better driver, but we both agree I’m a better parker. We are traveling the country right now and living out of a trailer, so we have to drive a big diesel. We try to ride bikes to work or walk if possible, but when I get groceries or do a lot of errands in one day I always take the truck so I’m just more used to driving and parking it. Every time he parks somewhere I pick on him.
