Living in the Room

Hiiiii ๐Ÿ˜€ Happy Sunday! Hope youโ€™re having a beautiful and relaxing day <3

For my lunch break yesterday, I came home to have a random lunch

lunch

2 smoothies (almond milk, banana, frozen organic berries, Sun Warrior, almond butter, cacao powder, cinnamon and stevia) + a bowl of broccoli with Goddess dressing

then I took a little pre-Zumba nap with Bell ๐Ÿ˜‰

nap

When I left to teach Zumba (my last class of the day), I was a little stressed out. Our internet modem got here a day late, and the connections in the house are different than the standard one- no phone jacks, itโ€™s cable only. We couldnโ€™t figure out how to get it set up, and the cable people wouldnโ€™t be able to get here until next week. I was not really stoked about living at a coffee shop for the next few daysโ€ฆ. especially since I have an enormous project due tomorrow that I need the internet for.

I went to teach Zumba, which ended up being one of the best classes ever. I did a few new dances, it was PACKED, and everyone was yelling and shaking itโ€ฆ a Zumba dream

aaaaaand when I came home, we had internet, cable and a new sectional from Crate and Barrel. My husband is a magician.

living room

*3-piece Axis Wedge in Coffee

[Side note: sometimes we call Crate and Barrel โ€œCracken and Barrelโ€ and say it like pirates. Weโ€™re really cool, haha]

So exciting to have technology and a comfy place to chill!!!

Kyle and Meg came over last night to hang out, and brought Eclectic Cafe to-go.

dinner

Saturday night is usually my treat night, so I giant tuna salad + order of sweet potato fries ๐Ÿ™‚

It was so nice to see people LIVING in the living room:

Big change from this, eh?

den

The boys went to pick up froyo for dessert, while Meg and I stayed here. I was way too full from dinner, but asked them to pick up something for this little lady:

froyo

A tiny serving of froyo with half a doggie treat. She was very happy ๐Ÿ™‚
We all watched Hoarders and everyone else watched Jurrasic Park 3 while I snoozed on the couch (dinosaurs scare me) and called it a night.

SO much to do today! Time to werk ๐Ÿ™‚

xoxo

Gina

Something to do:

Itโ€™s Sunday! Take a few minutes to plan out your meals and workouts for the week. It will make grocery shopping so much easier, and itโ€™s always better to hit up the gym with an idea of what youโ€™d like to do that day <3

cookbook

Iโ€™m actually cooking in the new kitchen this week! Let me know if thereโ€™s anything youโ€™d like to see ๐Ÿ™‚

Pretty new sectional! Isn’t it awesome to feel like you are getting things back to normal and not living out of boxes anymore? I know the feeling!

    • Fitnessista on July 31, 2011 at 1:05 pm

I’m horrible when it comes to weekly meal planning ๐Ÿ™ It would probably help me get my diet in check though for sure lol.

You could check out http://e-mealz.com/ I’ve heard good things about it and it seems like a great idea at least for a little while!

Looks beautiful my friend! It just feels good when you are settled in, cozy and the boxes are gone!! I actually like moving to see the change happen in my life and to set up all new furniture…..I’m crazy like that though ๐Ÿ˜‰

Internet problems are horrible, aren’t they!? A couple of weeks ago, I couldn’t connect and we had the cable guys out twice and no one could figure it out until one of my compie friends figured out my computer anti-virus software was blocking my internet! UGH! It was so frustrating!

    Room looks great! ๐Ÿ˜€

Ah! My husband and I watch Hoarders once a week and immediately get into a crazy cleaning frenzy. I think if we keep up this schedule our house will always be clean ๐Ÿ˜‰

Sounds like Zumba was a blast- love those kinds of classes. Have a fun Sunday!

Your living room looks absolutely dreamy. I can’t wait until I buy a house and have enough space for a sectional or at least a chaise lounge!

thank you! it def passed the test when i crashed out on the couch last night ๐Ÿ™‚

  15. Lindsey on July 31, 2011 at 2:21 pm

Love the new sofa! How is the quality of C&B’s furniture? Hubs and I are considering new furniture and don’t have a store in the area ๐Ÿ™ . I love sitting back on a Sunday afternoon and planning my week – workouts, meals for the fam and myself, and filling out my to-do lists for each day. There is something oddly therapeutic about it.

    • Fitnessista on July 31, 2011 at 2:27 pm

Your family room looks so cozy, comfy and classy! I have decorated with similar colors and furniture so IMO you have great taste!

  25. Leslie Wingate on July 31, 2011 at 4:02 pm

My family decided they wanted McD today. Oy. I had 1/2 an Asian salad with grilled chicken and b/vin. I was actually not happy about McD, but the salad had almonds, mandarins, peppers, and edamame. (sp?) instead of all of that bacon/cheese/crouton business. It wasn’t half bad for a fast food salad that probably had some weird junk added in there. ๐Ÿ˜‰
    Living room is GAW-GEOUS!

So happy for you that you got your internet up!

There is nothing more unsettling to me than not having internet and feeling out of touch with the world. I admit it! I “need” to have my internet connection going or I am not a happy camper. You have been thru so much…the packing and move (I just did it 3 weeks ago) but I wasnt pregnant. You’re handling it like a champ!

And your living room looks great!

Congrats on a great zumba class!

And I’m impressed you have your cookbooks unpacked. I did a post that I actually did NOT unpack my cookbooks b/c I get so many ideas from blogs, from online recipe sources, that I rarely reach for my paper cookbooks anymore. But there are a few Ani books buried! wayyyy at the bottom of a huge and heavy box that one day I need to fish out ๐Ÿ™‚

  39. Holly @ The Runny Egg on July 31, 2011 at 8:56 pm

Well I’m glad you have internet! Isn’t it amazing that we used to live without it? Now we go a little nuts if we stay at a hotel without WIFI (we just assumed every hotel had it!). So I’m glad it all worked out and you don’t have to live at the coffee shop!

That couch is amazing — I wish our living room was big enough for a big comfy sectional like that. It looks great!

  40. 'Dee on July 31, 2011 at 10:03 pm

Isn’t it amazing how unsettled we can feel after a move? And then how tangible the ‘ahhh’ moments are when things start coming together — like being able to LIVE in the living room.

Great post – and I love that couch.

PS, big awww to the nap photo.

That happens to me too! If I am stressed out and teaching is the last thing that I would think would make me happy- it ends up being the best. class. ever! I love that about our job- the people and energy of the class or client can completely remove you from a bad day ๐Ÿ™‚

  45. Mo on August 1, 2011 at 9:21 am

Love the living room – and the sectional. Beautiful with your rug. We are need of new furniture and the way my living room is situated – I think a sectional would work best. You’ll have to keep me posted on how you like it. And I want one of those huge arm chairs with an ottoman – something I can almost lay in! I noticed in your next post – you’re napping on leather – don’t you stick???? Love you guys – take care.

I love your living room set up! looks so cozy! Funny thing I ran across this! I am turning a spare bedroom into a media room and I just got this Axis sectional in the same color off Craigslist for a great price! The only difference is the corner is not the wedge. Picking it up this weekend. ๐Ÿ™‚ Beautiful color!
