1/19: Meals and fitness for the week

This post is on auto-publish because Iโ€™m with some friends filming the Winter Shape Up videos! Iโ€™m SO excited about this yearโ€™s Shape Up. It starts next week (January 27- mark yoโ€™ calendars) and is going to be the best one yet. Anne and I have been hard at work getting everything together, and it will be the first Shape Up with full videos and meal plans, lots of giveaways and a secret Facebook group. Whoโ€™s stoked?!

Hope youโ€™ve been enjoying the weekend so far. My MIL got in Friday night, so weโ€™ve had a blast hanging out with her and taking her to some new Tucson spots. Yesterday we hit up the Desert Museum, which was especially lovely since itโ€™s been so gorgeous lately. (Iโ€™m sending sunshine your way, freezing friends who actually get a winter)

Things are a little unique this week with company and Liviโ€™s birthday party, Iโ€™m not planning on prepping a ton of food. 

A couple of the usual staples:

-Pick up lots of fruits and veggies to have on hand for snacks and juices

-Make some Paleo bread (oh, and more brownies.)

Thatโ€™s probably it. Tonight weโ€™re having a BBQ party at the casa, and will probably be restaurant dining the next couple of days ๐Ÿ™‚

The tentative fitness plan:

Sunday: Winter Shape Up videos (weโ€™re filming 3 of them, so itโ€™s totally going to be my workout)

Monday: Barre 3

Tuesday: Tempo run

Wednesday: Teach Zumba

Thursday: Strength

Friday: OFF

Saturday: Long run

A few people have asked for an update with my knee situation, and knock on wood, itโ€™s going well so far. I think that letting it fully rest from running for 12 weeks was helpful, and Iโ€™m excited for some PT sessions. Iโ€™ve been doing easy and shorter runs lately, adding in some walking when I feel like I need it. I feel like itโ€™s a good mix.

    Iโ€™m REALLY looking forward to this yearโ€™s shape up. I first found you due to last yearโ€™s shape up. It made an incredible difference in my body. Thank you. I now need to focus on losing the fat (the muscle is under there!) and I believe itโ€™s going to take a good hard look and change at my eating habits. I think the extra help with the meal plans will really do it for me. I KNOW what I should eat, I just feel like I need more guidance to plan out the week for me and my family. Canโ€™t wait! Thanks for all you do. . . . . itโ€™s much appreciated. J

    I have a tentative plan for the week workout wise but I need to work on some meal prep!

    No meal prep but planned out the weekโ€™s meals in list form so I can be on top of things day to day. Excited for this weekโ€™s training schedule though, with the first week of my added strength training over, Iโ€™m hoping Iโ€™ll be a little less sore this coming week and my runs will feel fresher ๐Ÿ™‚

    Yay for WSU! I am so excited about it, which is saying a lot since Iโ€™ve misplaced my workout motivation. I wasnโ€™t able to do the last SSU, so Iโ€™m excited to get back to it. I appreciate all of the hard work and time you put into your programs.

    I think I need to finally participate in a Shape Up. Iโ€™m getting bored with my usual indoor winter workouts. This could be a nice way to shake things up until warmer weather gets here!!

    I am beyond excited for the winter shape up series. Iโ€™ve been anxiously awaiting it! Iโ€™ve just got back into running outside but Iโ€™m ready for some indoor cario challenges since we have another arctic freeze coming our way in Indiana.

    Iโ€™m glad to hear your knee is doing well. Hopefully it will keep healing properly.

    Okayโ€ฆI tried the brownies and they came out really dry and crumbly. Okay on some almond milk ice cream, but not as yummy as I hoped. I did use 1/2 pb and 1/2 almond butter. Wonder if that had something to do with it?? Are yours coming out dry?

      hmmm it might have been that you used peanut butter instead. you want your nut butter to be really more like a liquid, so iโ€™d go with almond butter or maybe sunflower seed butter for these

    I am so excited! Iโ€™ve participated in two of your Summer Shape Ups, but this will be the first WSU! After the Christmas season, itโ€™ll be good to get back on track. Looking forward to the 27th!

    I am so excited for the WSU! I think this will be the motivation I need to get back to working out consistently ๐Ÿ™‚ Prep wise I made black bean burgers, whole wheat flax bread and quinoa for the week. We are supposed to be another blast of cold tomorrow so I think I will be making pumpkin chicken chili in the crock pot later this week.
