Mediterranean Movie Night
Hi guys π ITβS INDIAN FOOD WEDNESDAY! Sorry to yell, I just get so excited about it π Hope your morning is off to a great start.
Falafel Feast 2010 was a success <3
I made the batter (mix? dough?) into 8 patties- with some mix leftover in the fridge for egg or salad topping.
On med-high heat with a lil olive oil, I cooked each side for about 3 minutes until they were brown and toasty.
The pilotβs plate:
My plate, in a To-Go container:
Yup, I took it to the movies with Jeni π
I was the girl whose movie treat smelled like cumin and garlic, and I happily munched it while gazing into Edwardβs eyes.
The pilot understands my love for Edward π
The movie was even better the second time. By far, the best in the seriesβ¦ Iβm just bummed theyβre making us wait over a year for the next one! Punks.
B-fast this morning was overnight oats with chia:
(I didnβt stir it very wellβ¦ There were still chunks of powdery magma that would float up and explode in my eye. Dane Cook, anyone??)
-1/2 C oats + 1 T chia goodness soaked in 1 C almond milk overnight
-1 T brown rice protein
-cinnamon and cacao nibs
-1/2 bananner
Iβm off to do some weights (legs and abs today) and teach bootcamp!
Have a lovely day <3

Zumba song of the day: βQuiere Masβ by Angel y Khriz
My dinner was almost exactly the same, but my food processor shorted out, so I have to improvise. Mine didn’t stay together as well, but was still yummy!
I love that you brought your whole salad to the movies! I still really want to see Eclipse…maybe I’ll drag the mama there with me tonight π Hope you have a wonderful hump day love!!
THE MOVIE DUNE IS IN MY CHOCOLATEY DRINK!
hahah YESSSSSSS! thank you for that- made my day π
Hahaha love that you took it to the movies!
OMG You’re SO good taking that to the movies…I allow myself to chow on popcorn at the movies…it’s an unwritten rule π
I need to go see Eclipse for a 2nd time too…I have a friend that hasn’t seen it yet who’s counting on me….my cousin and I were saying how we felt like Cougars drooling over Jacob (Taylor’s) abs..omg!!
Falafels look great!
hahahahahah i knew someone who brought a chipotle burrito to the movies once. i roll with standard snacks from wawa, but i have been known to bring ice cream in. was anyone looking at you funny? hahaha. i made falafel once. best move everrr. and i def need to see this one. i DETESTED twilight, so much that i walked out bc i thought it was ridiculous. but ive heard great things about this.
Falafel looks amazing! Can’t believe you took it to the movies – way to go! Thinking of making this tonight, can I use canned chickpeas instead of dried to save time?
of course π
I always bring my own snacks to the movie–especially my own popcorn =)
I am eagerly anticipating that movie…don’t give anything away!
It just got released in Korea today, but I think I will hold out till next week…it will be a little insane this weekend I think.
I had a really similar dinner!
Can’t wait to see that movie… I don’t know if I can justify seeing it in theaters – in NYC it’s so expensive!
Haha I’ve brought snacks with me to the cinema, but I’ve never tried an entire meal!! I’m not really a huge Edward fan, nor have I seen any of the Twilight films, but after seeing Taylor Lautner on Oprah last week I just may have to go! π
I heard breaking dawn will be shown in TWO parts! Understandable if you’ve read the book. There’s just so much in the final book and they can’t leave all that good stuff out! So excited! Lol
2 parts and in digital 3d!!! it will be like i can reach out and TOUCH edward! hahah
i totally agree that this was the best movie! my second fav was the first one, followed by the second! love jacob…..sexaaaaaay! lol!
Hahaha, LOVE the Dane Cook reference! π
Your din looks fabulous – I wish I’d be able to convince my hubby to eat it!
Oh Edward… I’m a more of team Jacob person just cause he seems a bit awkward…but it’s still fun to dream π
I haven’t seen Eclipse yet but I keep hearing good things! I know New Moon was way better than Twilight so this is giving me some more hope for the third one. I laughed at your bringing falafel to the movie theater. I always bring my own food. Usually a big ol’ ziploc of veggies and everyone just loves me as I noisily eat carrots, lol.
you re so adorable! i love the idea of taking your dinner to a movie π
I don’t like it when the movie Dune is in my drink!!
And then the talking bowl of fruit punch would come busting threw the wall and all the kids would be like, “Yes! Yes!” Oh no!! Naughty naughty kool-aid!
Haha. I love that you quoted Dane cook, my friend and I do it all time, like fo real.
i don’t like when juice wears tights π
The Greek feast is totally going to happen in my house soon!!
π Happy IFW!
Those look great! Though I’d probably be one of the other moviegoers whining about people bringing stinky food into the theater. π
I saw the movie last night too and thought it was great! There really is just something about Edward that is so incredibly sexy. I think it is the passion and intensity. It’s funny bec Robert Pattinson himself doesn’t make me think anything of him, but Edward…oh yes. I didn’t know the next one wasn’t coming out for so long. Ick!
haha yes, edward is a totally different person than robert pattinson π
Haha, I can’t believe you took it to the movies! I get nervous when I bring in my own candy! π
I loooove falafel!
I really don’t know much about Twilight, just saw the first movie because my friend had the DVD, and even I can’t wait to see Eclipse! I’ll have to catch myself up and go see it because everyone swears it’s the best one yet! π And I totally agree with Tina above. Edward = Sexy. Robert Pattinson? not so much.
Fabulous looking dinner!!! I like to bring my own meals to the theater too. π
I have been craving some good old mediterranean food for weeks now! I may have to try my hand at making falafel π
I love that you brought those to a movie. It reminds me of when I brought homemade tabbouleh on a flight and the guy sitting next to me kept looking over and commenting on the garlicky smell!
Wow your falafel dinner looks ahh-mazing! π Totally cracks me up that you snuck it into the movies! haha
I finally saw Eclipse this past weekend– somehow I convinced the hubby to see it on our date night. I’m pretty sure I’m going to owe him for the next 80 million movies we see. Poor guy. haha. It was soo good tho! π By far their best one yet.
i want to try falafel, i’ve never really had it! And omgoodness, i love love love that you brought it to the movies with you! hilarious.
AND your dane cook reference just made my day. I saw him last summer (2009) on tour and almost fell out of my chair for various reasons π
I hate to be Debbie Downer here, but I detested ECLIPSE. Watched it once with my teenage nieces. They loved it of course. Then I went back with my husband. He hated it. Thought it was the worst of the 3, and I agree. Something was completely off about it. The sets, makeup, and acting were off. And the thing that bothered me the most, was Sam. Did anyone notice that he gained weight. At one point, he bent down to help Jacob, and I swear I saw love handles. We’re gonna stick with Twilight and New Moon!!! We’re not even planning on going to see Breaking Dawn. I’m so sad!
I just tried overnight oats for the first time this morning and I have to say, I didn’t love them. I’m so disappointed! π
no worries.. 99% of the time i think they’re nasty, but have been enjoying them more lately π
I forgot about Indian Food Wednesday (gassppp) so does that mean I should break out the frozen paratha tonight? π
Andddd I have a feeling I need to see this Dane Cook clip!
hahah definitely watch the dane cook clip… and you know what my vote for the indian food is π
I thought Eclipse was the best of the series too and can’t wait to see the next two movies.. those are going to be so FANTASTIC!!!
That is HILARIOUS that you took your indian food to the movies! (I’ve been sneaking in froyo recently.) And yes, my bf has accepted my love for Edward too. I finally got him to see Twilight–I think he *gets* it π
mmm those falafel look awesome, I have to try making my own, I haven’t had any since going gluten-free!
I love bringing my own food to movies…when I went to go see Eclipse, I brought a salad in a tupperware, topped with lots of garlicky hummus and salsa! I agree it was so good!! Though I’m a Jacob girl myself…
Falafels look great, I have not made falafel in awhile.
We are have stuff in our purses to eat during movies ; ) shhh
We hope to go see Eclipse soon, it is killing me!
I’ve been using Grooveshark for MONTHS and never had a single problem. I bet it’s clicking on the site’s ads that have caused viruses, and not the website itself. When it doubt, never click on ads!
So I’ve been avoiding this whole Twilight thing ever since it came out… until last weekend. Rented Twilight and New Moon, watched them in 2 days, then went and saw Eclipse the next day. I am completely addicted, sucked in, and in LOVE with the whole thing. Uuugghh!! And I’m definitely team Edward, I can’t even believe it’s a question for some people haha. Seeing that pic you put in your post made my heart flutter!!
hahahah YES. read the books!!!! they are a million times better than the movie
I can’t believe I just saw this post. A thousand points to you for Dane Cook π I love the exaggerating girlfriend one! I seriously thought your overnight oats was a smoothie in a bowl (which I’m obsessed with now..)
Stephen and I enjoyed Eclipse. I agree that this book translated into a movie even better than the others. I can’t believe you brought your fragrant dinner to the theater…LOL.
Garlic and cumin treat for the movies? I’m in love.
I also love the Zumba song of the day. Thanks!
