Bloggies in the pod

Hi friends! How’s your weekend going? Hope you’re having a beautiful and relaxing day so far 🙂

Thanks so much for the Philly recommendations! The official HLS events are over, so we’ll see what kind of shenanigans the Pilot and I can get into today 😉

Yesterday, in between events, we met up with some friends to hit up the Rittenhouse farmer’s market.

bloggies

Gabriella, Heather, Sabrina and the Pilot 🙂

My preg buddy:

The market was really cute- lots of flower vendors, produce, goat cheese (!) and fresh lemonade. We each grabbed one, and I loved the option of having it sweetened with Stevia instead of agave.

berries

As much as I love to visit other farmer’s markets, it’s always a legendary tease because there isn’t a ton you can take on a plane home with you.

I’m hoping to head back to that area today, because the surrounding stores looked very appealing 😉

For dinner, we went to pod, which is a modern family-style Asian restaurant.

The atmosphere was pretty amazeballz:

pod

Sleek, modern, and I’m a fan of any place with conveyor belt sushi 🙂

To start, we shared some salty warm edamame:

edamame

Thai salad for me (cabbage, cilantro, egg, peanuts, avocado, vinaigrette)

salad

+ one of the few rolls I can roll with for the next few months: California

roll

[The crab is cooked, so it’s NBD. It’s also nowhere near the awesomeness of salmon sashimi.]

The best part:

brownie

Chocolate hazelnut brownie with espresso ice cream.

Yeah.

The group:

bloggies

Gabriella, Tina, Brittany, Julie, me, Courtney, Allison (+ the Pilot, who took the photo)

It was so much fun chatting with the girls, being told crazy stories by the Pilot and feasting on glorious food 🙂

After dinner, we went to a wine bar, the hotel bar and called it a night. It was the latest this old lady’s been up in a while 😉

Have a great day!

See ya later this afternoon <3

    I. Love. Pod. We got a “pod” for my sister in laws b-day last year. So fun.

Looks like you all had a great night!!

Please. I know you don’t do cows dairy. Neither do I. When I could…it was as a treat..and my treat was Bassetts peanut butter swirl ice cream. At least have the pilot get some at RTM. It’s good stuff.

Enjoy the rest of your time. Weather looks nice today 🙂

I LOVE your maxi dress! Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous!
And I also love how that California roll is minimal on the rice- I hate it when sushi has too much rice in it…kind of covers the taste of all the other goodness

  9. mi-an on August 21, 2011 at 11:40 am

    cute dress!

  10. Haley on August 21, 2011 at 11:46 am

  17. Annie@stronghealthyfit on August 21, 2011 at 12:56 pm

Looks like an awesome restaurant! Would have loved to meet you at HLF, but every time I spotted you you were with a group and I was too intimidated! 🙂

  18. Hillary on August 21, 2011 at 1:05 pm

Looks like a great time all around!

  19. Kimi on August 21, 2011 at 1:12 pm

Ahh Pod is so great! Stephen Starr restaurants are one of the best parts of Philly. You should hit up White Dog if you have time – they try to do local food as much as possible.

  20. Jessica @ Sushi and Sit-Ups on August 21, 2011 at 1:13 pm

I really wish they’d open a conveyor belt sushi place where I live! Of course then my wallet would be in serious trouble. Looks like fun! Salmon sashimi would definitely what I’d miss most if I were pregnant.

  21. Allison on August 21, 2011 at 1:17 pm

There’s a conveyor belt sushi restaurant in the local mall I’ve wanted to try but have been hesitant! I know it’s fresh but can you customize certain dishes [aka no roe for me, please]?!

  22. Felicia (Natural + Balanced) on August 21, 2011 at 1:19 pm

too stinkin cute with that bump of yours 🙂

  23. fittingbackin on August 21, 2011 at 1:23 pm

SO CUTE – what a great visit and the food looks wonderful! Nice job staying up late. 🙂 I’m sure it’s hard!! So fun that pilot got to go to – awesome trip!

  24. Danielle (Shrinking and Studying) on August 21, 2011 at 1:44 pm

I love that ALL of my favorite bloggers seemed to be in Philly this weekend. I love seeing pictures of bloggers I read together, so much awesomeness united just makes me happy. 😉

I LOVE your maxi dress, you’re such a glowing pregnant lady!! Not eating raw fish sushi will definitely be one of the hardest parts about being pregnant when I get there someday.

Enjoy the rest of your time in Philly!

  25. Amy @ My Life as a Lazy Girl on August 21, 2011 at 1:49 pm

Aw! You and Julie! My 2 favorite bloggers! Cool!

  29. Yolie @ Practising Wellness on August 21, 2011 at 2:59 pm

That looks like so much fun! 😀 What a wonderful way to spend a day and evening, and in such great company…the Pilot is such a dude to hang out with so many girls and endure a girl talk / blogging talk extravaganza, lol! 😀 It must be so nice sharing the HLS festivities with him, and doing it all together…just lovely! <3 Coolness. That sushi looks divine, and the fact that you can get stevia sweetened lemonade? Wow! So progressive! 🙂 Take care and have (more!) fun! xyx

  32. Lauren @ Sugar Coated Sisters on August 21, 2011 at 4:07 pm

What does a push up to side plank look like?

Sounds like you had a blast at HLS, sushi dinner + wine bar + catching up with friends… winning combo

This workout is exactly what I needed today! I’m feeling super lazy and have been running around at a bridal shower all day but this is perfect for me to do in my room at the end of the day! Thank youuu

  35. Averie @ Love Veggies and Yoga on August 21, 2011 at 4:39 pm

Thanks for the lovely pics and recap of things…you all look awesome. And I love the belly shot of you and Sabrina. Too cute!!!

Chocolate hazelnut brownie with espresso ice cream = that is destined to just be stunning!

And the Pilot’s lobster roll…omg wow. About 10 yrs ago when I was still dabbling with fish/shellfish on a blue moon here and there, I used to eat this lobster roll that was divine. I love lobster. When I was dating (back in another lifetime ago) I used to select restaurants of places I wanted my dates to take me to that had the best lobster tails. That’s how my brain worked 🙂 lol

Safe travels back home to you two!

  43. Chelsea @ One Healthy Munchkin on August 21, 2011 at 9:27 pm

Thank goodness for California rolls!! Otherwise I don’t know what I’d do when I get pregnant. I can’t go a week, let alone 9 months, without sushi. 😛

Great shot of all you ladies. You all look gorgeous!
