Hi everyone! How’s your day been? Hope your weekend is winding down nicely 🙂 Bella and I just got back to Valdizzy! It was sad to leave beautiful Orlando, but home always feels so good after being away.

There have been two poodles in my day.

Something to talk about:  Do you have any vacays coming up this summer?? Tell me about your future travels! Or are you planning a stay-cation? (Relaxing at home can be just as baller, or even more relaxing than going out of town). I’ll be off to Vegas next week and then the Bahamas in May (CAN’T WAIT!) 😀

We are going to Newfoundland, for 3 weeks in May! 1 week in good old St. John’s and then 2 weeks traveling around visiting hubby to be’s family!! Hopefully we will see some icebergs!

As for this summer, we will probably stick to stay-cations. Especially since we are probably moving to a funky new little town with lots of summer activities to partake in! 🙂

  2. Jessica @ How Sweet It Is on April 11, 2010 at 6:08 pm

Vegas!? I love Vegas! We went there on our honeymoon – we absolutely love it and had a blast. My family takes 2 vacations this summer – to most they probably sound boring – Cape May and Northern Michigan, but they are amazing and so much fun!

    • Fitnessista on April 11, 2010 at 6:32 pm

that doesn’t sound boring, it sounds wonderful!!

  3. La on April 11, 2010 at 6:09 pm

<3<3<3 poodles. theyre just so pretty and elegant…we have a poodle/lassa apso mix currently

  4. brittany on April 11, 2010 at 6:38 pm

We are going to New Zealand for a late honeymoon, and then to Sweden to see family!

  5. Lindsay on April 11, 2010 at 6:40 pm

Oh let me know how that insanity workout is! I’ve heard a lot about it. My husbands race season is in full bloom so we’ll be traveling a lot. Its usually 3-4 days at time. Kinda short and sweet. Glad your home safe!

  6. Diane on April 11, 2010 at 6:40 pm

We have a bichon frise but he looks SO much like Bella! Maybe we got mixed up and he’s actually a poodle, haha.

We always go down the shore for summer weekends, to New Jersey or Maryland, and usually go to Florida once a year. This year was the first we didn’t go in a long time because we’re planning a trip to Bonaire.

Vegas sounds like so much fun! I can’t wait to see your pics. And I am SO excited for stories from the Bahamas 🙂

  7. Samantha on April 11, 2010 at 6:44 pm

Insanity is pretty wicked (but I’m not in wonderful shape) but a great workout. That being said, I haven’t done it as written as I have a running relay coming up in a few weeks. I use the workouts as supplements but hope to do the 60 day challenge afterward. I don’t have nearly enough time or energy to do it + run + yoga.

Enjoy your trips! My only hopeful “vacation” this year will be to fly to the States but layover for 3 or 4 days on each end in HI to visit my husband whose TDY there was extended to summer, and plan on being in the US for 2-3 weeks. We haven’t seem family since Nov 2008. 🙁

  8. Danielle (Coffee Run) on April 11, 2010 at 6:46 pm

haha you look like you have some beef with that apple 🙂

My summer is looking super boring but a staycation doesn’t sound like a bad idea!

    • Fitnessista on April 11, 2010 at 7:09 pm

hahah it’s a little different from the dessert i ate all last week 😉

  9. Jessie (Vegan-minded) on April 11, 2010 at 6:49 pm

Bella is so adorable! Is she a bichon? My dog would look a lot like Bella if she let us anywhere near her to trim her fur. She hates haircuts so we basically let her walk around with an afro most of the time. It’s pretty cute. That garlic stuff looks awesome, I can’t wait to hear what you think of it. 🙂

    • Fitnessista on April 11, 2010 at 7:08 pm

      bella is a maltipoo 🙂

  10. Morgan @ Healthy Happy Place on April 11, 2010 at 6:50 pm

This is the year of vacations for me! Starting in 5 weeks with my HONEYMOON to St. Lucia! In October we’re going to Jamaica for a friends wedding, and the day after Christmas we’re off to an unknown tropical location with my fiance’s family. I don’t think I’ve ever had so many trips planned in one year!

    • Fitnessista on April 11, 2010 at 6:53 pm

      that’s AWESOME! you’re going to have a blasty 🙂

  11. Heather (Heather's Dish) on April 11, 2010 at 6:52 pm

i’m so jealous of everyone that’s getting the garlic samples…it’s my FAVORITE flavor in the world 🙂 make something extra good for me?! 🙂

    • Fitnessista on April 11, 2010 at 7:04 pm

i will, friend. i LOVE garlic, too. a meal isn’t nearly as good without it 🙂

  12. Haley on April 11, 2010 at 6:55 pm

I can’t wait for the summer time.. I am taking a LONG vacay (also known as moving to San Diego) and a week long one in Cancun with my boyfriend. We bought an all-expenses paid trip a few months ago… and I am itching to go.. NOW! =) Have fun in Vegas… gotta love that place!

  13. Erica on April 11, 2010 at 6:57 pm

Glad you made it home safe. The necklace it totally adorable. Travels? We’re going to Pennsylvania for Josh’s bro’s graduation, Hilton Head this summer, and back to Jamaica for our comp trip at some point!!

  14. Lauren @ BIOCHEMISTA on April 11, 2010 at 7:01 pm

SOOO jealous of your upcoming vacations!!! I LOVEEE the Bahamas!!! …but who doesn’t, right? 😉

Can’t wait to hear your Insanity review!!! I’ve been debating ordering it for a while..

  15. Katherine on April 11, 2010 at 7:03 pm

    I love garlic!
I wish I had a long comment to post here about summer [insert entire text of blog]. everyone else is looking forward to summer and I’m dreading it without a clue as to what I’m going to do (one month and counting!)

    • Fitnessista on April 11, 2010 at 7:22 pm

      you’ll figure it out! <3

  16. Hallie on April 11, 2010 at 7:07 pm

Well…since you asked…I’m going on vacation next month (technically not summer but probably the only travel I’ll really do). Remember that Oikos yoga-in-a-toga bloggers contest? Well, I won(!!) so I’m going to a yoga retreat in Western MA for 2 days. And since I was alrealy going across the country, I extended my flight and I’ll be spending about a week in Boston visiting friends from college and seeing the sights. My boyfriend and I don’t go on “real” vacations often (I don’t count weekend camping trips, haha) so I’m very excited. Countdown is ON!

    • Fitnessista on April 11, 2010 at 7:21 pm

ahhhhh! you won?!? that is SO AWESOME. have an amazing time!!!

  17. shelly on April 11, 2010 at 7:10 pm

We are going to visit my little brother in Victoria in July and we have rented a cottage in Nove Scotia in August. By the end of the summer we will have been from one end of the country to the other… but not much in between.

  18. Holly (The Healthy Everythingtarian) on April 11, 2010 at 7:12 pm

ahhh this question is totes right up my alley! heading to banff, canada to go hiking for a week in june, san fran in july for a 1/2 marathon, then hopefully (*crossing fingers money magically ends up in my bank account*) london, england to visit a friend who just moved there, LA to visit my bestie and perhaps a yoga intensive training in mexico?

  19. Melissa on April 11, 2010 at 7:15 pm

I went to Mexico for a friend’s bachelorette already (all inclusive – so much fun) and have that same friend’s wedding in Miami in May and then a few weeks later another bachelorette in Miami. ohhh the woes of being a bridesmaid 😉 OH and I’m going to Israel this summer for two weeks, which tops everything…I cannot wait for that!

    • Fitnessista on April 11, 2010 at 7:21 pm

israel is going to be BEAUTIFUL!

  20. kelli on April 11, 2010 at 7:17 pm

you’re totally right- we used to go to vegas for family vacays every summer when we were kids. there’s a TON to do there, even if you’re not 21!

  22. Jacuqie on April 11, 2010 at 7:19 pm

Yay for fun traveling! I love it and can’t wait until after graduation for our trip to Italy and Switzerland for 2 weeks in May. After that, I’m really not sure when the next vacation will be, but maybe something like the NC coast during August with some girlfriends.

  23. Michelle @ Give Me the Almond Butter on April 11, 2010 at 7:30 pm

You are quite the traveler Gina!

I will be going down to Arizona for a convention, but that is about it. I love the poodle necklaces!

  24. Jess on April 11, 2010 at 7:32 pm

I’m actually going to be doing a 3-week course on Italian Cuisine and the Mediterranean Diet (I’m in a grad program for nutrition)! I’ve never been to Italy, so even though I’m technically taking a class and doing research, I can’t wait for all the markets, factory and farm tours and wine tastings, of course : )

    • Fitnessista on April 11, 2010 at 8:29 pm

      wow that sounds incredible!

  25. Michelle on April 11, 2010 at 7:35 pm

Not any traveling plans in my near future, but my hubby and I hope to make it to ireland sometime in 2010 🙂 What are your plans for Vegas?? I live a little bit away from there and would love to meet up for a meal or something! 🙂

    • Fitnessista on April 11, 2010 at 8:28 pm

      hey girl,
no solid plans yet but i’ll post something about a meet-up for sure!

  27. Kelsey on April 11, 2010 at 7:37 pm

Ive really wanted to try the insanity workout but its pretty spendy and I wasnt sure if it was another gimmick or if it really is agood workout plan. Definitly let me know what you think 🙂

  28. Natalie on April 11, 2010 at 7:38 pm

I’m going to Vegas in sept to get married! We r going out there with a bunch of friends, and it will be the first time on a plane! That’s right, 28 years old and never been on a plane lol. Haven’t tried Insanity, but I’m staring my 4th week of p90x, and I hear they are familiar. It’s a kick butt workout!

  29. Marianne on April 11, 2010 at 7:48 pm

Insanity is tough!! I tried it a couple of times with some friends at the gym just to switch up the routine and learn some new moves for our intervals class. We did do the fit test and were amazed at how hard it was and then proceeded to do one of the workouts….by the end we were on the floor in a sweaty mess!! Some of the moves are tough to pick up and you wonder how in the heck they are going so fast. Good luck!!

    • Fitnessista on April 11, 2010 at 8:28 pm

ahhhhh! i’m scared. but in a good way 🙂

  30. Caroline on April 11, 2010 at 7:57 pm

I have that same pink suitcase! As for my travel plans, this summer I’m studying abroad with a program that goes to Spain, Greece, Italy, Croatia, Turkey, Egypt, and Morocco on a 2 1/2 month long cruise! I can’t wait!

  33. Melissa (MelissaLikesToEat) on April 11, 2010 at 8:08 pm

I’m finishing P90X on Tuesday and I was also curious about Insanity. Please let us know what you think!
I’m going to Vegas a couple of times in May (once for a wedding and the other for the Mayweather fight), Austin, Texas in May to visit family.

  35. mmclaughlin on April 11, 2010 at 8:42 pm

We are going to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic this coming Friday (for a week) with 2 other couples. Then we are taking 2 weeks to drive ourselves (and everything we own) from Charleston, SC to Alaska! It’s over 4500 miles of driving, but we’re really looking forward to it!

  36. Ash Bear on April 11, 2010 at 8:44 pm

We’re heading down to Atlanta for a wedding in May, the Vermont home a few times, and then taking in all the NYC summer scene!

  38. Midgetkeeper on April 11, 2010 at 9:08 pm

We’re going to do a few days in Boston and NYC, they are only a few hours away but we want to travel as much of the North East as we can before we go to our next duty station next year. Other then that home to Texas and Iowa to visit our families.

  39. Emily N on April 11, 2010 at 9:20 pm

I’m going to Israel this summer! So excited as I’ve never been to the Middle East. Then in January, the SO and I are planning a backpackers trip aroud Africa (still haven’t decided which countries) with another couple for two weeks. I’m very excited for both!

    • Fitnessista on April 11, 2010 at 9:47 pm

do you have a gina-sized backpack or suitcase to put me in? 😉

  40. Karyn on April 11, 2010 at 9:21 pm

you look very unhappy with that apple hah! no real summer plans, probably going to stick close to home and make some money. maybe a weekend trip to lake winnie (in NH) or two. pretty boring but i think i need that ha!

    • Fitnessista on April 11, 2010 at 9:45 pm

haha i just got a little too used to last week’s dessert festival. time to get used to naturally sweet food again!

  41. Katie on April 11, 2010 at 9:27 pm

I was in Vegas two weeks ago! We saw Kendra and Bob Saget when we were there. Totally random celeb sightings 🙂 You will have a blast!

    • Fitnessista on April 11, 2010 at 9:46 pm

  42. Nicole @ Making Good Choices on April 11, 2010 at 9:27 pm

We just took a vacation to Costa Rica, we usually go away one week and to my in-laws beach house for another week in Jersey. I have the whole summer off (teacher) so I usually visit friends in Boston too!

  43. Elizabeth on April 11, 2010 at 9:44 pm

I haven’t tried Insanity but I LOVE Chalean Extreme and TurboJam and P90x. Basically, anything Beachbody ROX MY SOX. Shameless plug (sorry!) I love it so much I became a coach: http://www.beachbodycoach.com/elizabetharina. A few of my teammates are doing Insanity and love it.

  44. Kaitlin on April 11, 2010 at 9:45 pm

I may go visit my sister at Myrtle Beach since she’ll be lifeguarding on the beach all summer, but thats all I have planned. I’m so jealous that you’ll be going to the Bahamas, that sounds awesome!

  45. Fallon on April 11, 2010 at 9:58 pm

I live in Las Vegas!!! What are you plans?

My boyfriend is finally coming back from Iraq in May and he has told me in June he is getting 2 weeks leave…. So I mentioned we need to go to a place with a BEACH! So I’m keeping my fingers cross. I need to get out of this Sin City 😉

  46. Sarah Anne on April 11, 2010 at 10:10 pm

Never done Insanity, but I’m just finishing my last phase of P90X and it kicks my arse. I LOVE it. I don’t love the gimmicky people, but I’ve heard Shaun T of Insanity is just…crazy. Lots of P90X grads go on to that program and I”ve heard nothing but sweat sweat sweat!

Can’t wait to hear how it is!

  47. Jenn @ LiveWellFitNow on April 11, 2010 at 10:24 pm

INSANITY!!!! Woohoo! Love that program…it is intense though. Very high impact and full of plyometric moves. Lots of high intensity intervals followed by a small recovery.

I’m actually a coach with Beachbody and LOVE their products so shoot me an email if you have any questions or thoughts!

I’m starting Insanity tomorrow as a matter of fact. A full dose of round 2. Will be tracking all of my workouts each day for a full review! 🙂

So glad you are having fun!

  48. Vicki on April 11, 2010 at 10:41 pm

The Bahamas will be so fun!

We are doing a California trip (San Diego for 5 nights, Anaheim for Disney for 3 nights) in June. I can’t wait! The first week of September we’re doing Virginia Beach. Nothing in between, though.

  49. Emily J on April 11, 2010 at 10:59 pm

My whole family is totally addicted to garlic 🙂
I actually just got back from NYC! We stayed on the Upper West Side and two blocks down there was a HUGE market called Fairway- maybe you’ve heard of it? It is so incredibly well stocked with fresh fruits and veggies- so many they have to have stands out on the sidewalk cause it won’t all fit inside! If you’re ever in the city you’ll have to give it a go.
Where in the Bahamas are you going?

  50. Charlie on April 11, 2010 at 11:12 pm

Love the poodle necklace, but the real thing is even cuter! 🙂
Glad you made it home safe & sound, but can’t wait till you come back!! Have a blasty in Vegas next week!
    xx
