Friday Faves
Hi friends. Happy Friday! Whatโs going on this weekend? Anything fun? Iโm off to Jacksonville with some friends and you know weโll be all over the mall. The shopping in Valdosta has much to be desired. (The mall has like a race car jacket store and a Victoriaโs Secret straight outta the 1990s with gold heart wallpaper.) Weโre spending the day in JAX shopping + eating, and I canโt.wait.
Iโd love to hear whatโs going on with you! Weโll probably have our neighbors over for some snacks and sangria, enjoy a date night, and spend lots of time at the pool and the splash pad. Itโs been a blast to take the girls almost every day, and Iโm excited that the Pilot will get to join in the fun. I feel like weโre already living up summer: splashing or swimming, then driving home with wet ponytails and the girls in the backseat eating vanilla ice cream cones.
In usual Friday style, here are some faves from the week and around the web! I always love to hear what youโre enjoying, too, if youโd like to shout it out in the comments below.
One pieces. Before, I pretty much never wore one pieces, because I felt like they made my legs look shorter. But now, especially since Iโm still not suuuuuper comfortable with my extra skin post almost-11-lb turkey baby, Iโve been digging the one pieces.
Itโs nice to splash and play with the kids without worrying about my goodies showing, ya know? I picked up this one at Victoriaโs Secret (before they stopped doing swimwear! WAH), this one at Nordstrom (which is the most flattering ever), and am going to order this one from Anthro since itโs no longer on backorder.
Coconut oil is good for EVERYTHING.
Iโm obsessed with this romper right now,
and wasnโt sure how I felt about man rompers. Maybe men need a chance to feel the comfort, simplicity and freedom a romper brings, lol. I told the Pilot that I was going to order him a rompHim, and he was like, โIโve been wearing rompers way before it was cool.โ Touchรฉ.
The best neighbors ever. Since we moved into the neighborhood, weโve been able to meet a lot of the families closeby. Everyone has been so kind and welcoming, and many have dropped off homemade treats and wine. We were just finishing up the last batch of insanely delicious oatmeal raisin and chocolate chip cookies, and then our neighbors across the street stopped by with this incredible gift basket. Iโm not really sure how we got so lucky on the neighborhood front?? We are thankful to be surrounded by so many wonderful people.
(She even included pinwheels, bubbles and a book for the girls)
In the fitness world, Iโve kept track of all of my workouts this week so I can post a full recap on Sunday.
(Before starting rowing intervals)
I hope you have a very happy Friday and Iโll see ya soon!
Whatโs something youโre looking forward to this weekend?? Where should we eat in JAX? Anything that made you laugh/cry/happy this week? Link away, friends!
xoxo

hahaha flight suit romper! My husband couldn’t be happier to wear his “pajamas” every day to work – I don’t know how he could ever have a job that required separate pants and shirts!

Florida is always a good place to go shopping:) Enjoy your stay in Jacksonville!
thank you! hope you had a great weekend ๐
Have a great weekend! I live in Minnesota which means myself and my baby girl don’t see a lot of sun for a good portion of the year. This means pale skin!!!! What sunscreen do you use with your girls?
hey! hope you had a great weekend! we use the babyganics sunscreen and i keep the beautycounter sunscreen stick in my purse ๐
I had to put on a new bathing suit for the first time last weekend since my surgery and I was going to be with my boyfriend. I literally thought I was gonna die, but it turned out everything fit fine. lol!
Love those swimsuits! I’m looking forward to seeing my family in Houston this weekend. Have fun in Jacksonville!
Hello from Jax! ๐ I would recommend Black Sheep or Corner Taco for eats. And if you’re near the St. Johns town center, FreshJax has tons of healthy (vegan/GF) options & sweets.

Love the splash pad!! We live 40 minutes outside of town and I am pretty sure that there isnt even one IN town…we put a sprinkler under the trampoline in the summer and consider that about the same ๐
Adorable suit!!
I’m so envious of how many date night you and your husband go on. How do you do it?? Please do share! My husband and I can’t manage to go out with having a 19 month old.
I often wonder the same thing! Please do share:)
almost every time we leave, p is sleeping already (she goes down between 630 and 7). liv goes to sleep shortly after! so the sitter just has to read books to liv and put her to bed, then keep an eye on the baby monitor. we have an awesome sitter, and try to go out once a week, just the two of us. it’s good for our marriage because it’s one of the only chances we have to talk just the two of us.
Thanks for answering. Very inspiring. I have heard that going out on a date weekly is one of the keys to a successful marriage.
Thanks for sharing! We don’t have a local babysitter. We absolutely need to find one!
it’s definitely worth it! xo
Gilbert’s Social.
Here’s a video that made me cry (but in a good way because of the sweetness of little girls!)

ok. sobbing. so sweet <3
One thing I was looking forward to this weekend was not leaving the house at all! My allergies have been going completely crazy (in fact I’m sneezing as I’m typing this sentence), so spending some time catching up on all things indoors was sounding really great to me.
oh man. i hope you get some relief soon!
I shared that same video on my blog! It is so sweet and really made me stop and think. I TRY to put myself in his little mind.
I love that swimsuit! I am so sad VS stopped selling swimsuits! That was my go to! Especially living overseas. I am scared to look at the Japanese swimsuits here. I’d need a XXXL lol
Hope you had a good time and good shopping in Jax! I have to laugh, remembering my Jax to Valdosta shopping experience many years ago. We had just PCS’d from DC area, the ship was deployed for six months, and Jax shopping was dismal. The only outlet mall was in Valdosta, so another friend and I decided to drive to Valdosta to shop. Early that morning the police called her to tell her they had recovered her van. Apparently in the middle of the night someone found the spare keys (that her DH forgot to remove from the van) in the unlocked van, and took the van from onbase at Mayport for a joyride. She had no idea it was gone. Very fortunately, the van was left by the side of the road and wasn’t damaged so we decided we still could go. It was kind of gross driving up to Valdosta in a just-returned-from-stolen van, but we needed to get our shop on LOL. Unfortunately, the outlet shopping was not that good. Good story anyway ๐
