Friday Faves
Hi friends! Happy happy Friday. Donโt forget to enter the Zeel Massage and Bitsyโs Brainfood giveaways that are going on!
What are you up this weekend? Any events coming up? I hope you have a beautiful, relaxing, and fun weekend ahead.
Itโs an exciting weekend for us because weโre headed to Tucson for two weddings! My friend Annie, whom Iโve known since kindergarten, is tying the knot, and my cousin Cal is also getting married. Itโs going to be an eventful week, filled with family, friends, and festivities. Iโll still be blogging regularly, but it will probably be more *life* stuff than beefy workout posts. Hope thatโs cool. ๐ Per some requests, Iโll do a What I Ate Wednesday post next week, too.
So now, letโs get the Friday Faves party started! I always love sharing some of the things Iโve been reading, eating, enjoying, or wearing during the week. I enjoy hearing about whatโs going on with you and the things youโre enjoying if youโd like to shout them out in the comments section below.
Purple roses blooming in the yard. The color is even brighter than the photos. Theyโre enormous, and absolutely gorgeous.
Two amazing beach days this week. While it was fun to spend some time with our toes in the sand, and splash in the water,
the best part was hanging out with Michele, Dave and their kiddos. I was so happy we could catch up and spend time with them!
These two have known each other since they were born.
And now, look at them. ๐
Mitchโs seafood! We will definitely be back. The fish tacos were my favorite, and you canโt beat this view.
P and I had a lunch date with Betsy at Swamiโs Cafe. They have gluten-free pancakes on the menu, fresh salads, kombucha on tap, and delightful salads, so they were instantly a friend of mine. I had some doc appointments -my nerve repair hand surgery is next week- so it was a treat in between appointment days.
Iโve mentioned it before, but the new Liberty Station Public Market is OUT OF CONTROL. They have so many vendors, and new ones seem to pop up all the time: lobstah rolls, cheese, wine, Mexican food, pastries, fresh seafood, a full-up bar, juices, natural pet supplies, anything you could wish for, really. The Maine Lobster stand had whoopie pies (that look AWESOME) and I was like yep. They officially have everything here.
I tried the โDragonโs Breathโ shot, which had lemon, ginger, tumeric and cayenne. It made my face and ears burn in the best way possible.
Sephora finds. I replenished some of the staples (like the eyeliner, BB cream, eyebrow gel, and lip shine), but also tried out a couple of new things.
I am obsessed with this palette (the colors are neutral, not too shimmery, and last), and this mascara may be my favorite Iโve tried. For mascara, only a small few work for me. I wear contacts and my eyes are beyond sensitive, so anything will make them neon red and itchy. Tarte products are one of the select few brands that actually work and donโt irritate my eyes.
The forgotten art of untucking the tail.
Peanut butter baked steel cut oatmeal.
Find the best running shoe for you.
Another heartfelt post from my friend Janae sharing her experience with an eating disorder.
19 things your Spin instructor wonโt tell you.
And now, the P smile of the day.
Happy Friday, friends!
Hope you have a great weekend. Iโll see ya Monday morning, and also over on the PBB site.
xoxo
Gina
Thanks for the recent shout outs to peanut butter runner, I’ve started following her blog as well ๐
Tarte mascara is my all time fave (the Sephora in Europe doesn’t sell them so I stock up on all things Tarte when I visit home)! I haven’t tried this new one, but the Amazonian Clay mascara is my #1 beauty pick!
Hey Gina! Hope you have a great week in Tuscon! Where did you get the grey dress you’re wearing in the pic with the hat? Thanks!!
“The lie I gave up” was amazing. Thank you so much for sharing–this really resonates with me.
Glad I’m not the only one with super sensitive eyes to mascara! I’m always afraid to try new kinds because of that but I may branch out and try that one!
Have a great weekend! ๐
1) I always buy clear mascara and use it on my brows. Thanks for sharing the brow gel! ๐
2) I really appreciate you sharing my post. <3
Happy weekend and safe travels!
Safe travels and enjoy, friend! ๐
Roses! So pretty! I noticed this morning one of my rose bush buds has opened. Yay! The first rose of the season.
Love the makeup you picked up! Good luck with your hand surgery next week. I hope you have a great time visiting friends and family in Tucson!
OMG, I ventured over to liberty public market “real quick” last week and ended up working (“working”?) from grape smuggler allllllll afternoon. someday I will be less lazy about leaving the island and go to liberty station more ๐
haha! last time i went, i only had 10 minutes to walk around and i was so mad i didn’t plan it better so i could spend more time there. it is so amazing!
A playground at the beach?! Duh! Why can’t they have that at the beach we go to:( Love that pic!
Always love how you end w/ P’s smile of the week, and I certainly didn’t hate a half nekkid Pilot holding her. ๐
hahaha a swimsuited pilot is a very nice pilot indeed ๐
OMG !!! The photo of P is priceless!!!!!!!! OX – Gina (from Mass)
she is a nut haha ๐
