Friday faves + Jabra Rox giveaway
Hi! Happy Friday! What are you up to this weekend? Any fun parties or BBQs planned?? (Here’s a post with some healthy BBQ ideas if you’re planning ahead!)
We’ve had a wonderful time hanging out with the Pilot’s mama/MIL/Livi’s nana this past week. It’s been so much fun to show her around San Diego and enjoy time together. Since the Pilot has been gone frequently since we’ve been here, it took a little longer than we’d hoped to get her out here for a visit. Thankfully, it finally happened, and it’s been great to have her here.
Some faves from the week and around the web:
The Old Spice Guy’s ice bucket challenge video.
THIS HOBO. I’ve been eyeing it for a while and now it’s on s-a-l-e…
The science behind making the perfect cookie.
THIS WINE. We’re fans of the classic over here, but I was stoked to see the Midnight version at Baron’s. It is to diiieeee for; probably in my top five inexpensive reds. We’ll definitely be getting it again!
Finding my beloved eyebrow brush. This is a random thing to love so much, but my Anastasia stencil and eyebrow brush have been missing for a week. I unearthed them from under the makeup drawer, in the way, way back (along with a long lost lipgloss). It was like Christmas!
More reasons coconut oil is awesome.
Yoga Rave in Tucson! I love Session Yoga and the cause (Ben’s Bells); hoping to make it down there for this. If you live in Tucson or nearby, check out the details here. It’s going to be an incredible event.
Stability ball exercises for a strong back.
These earbuds. It was my first time trying wireless headphones, and man, I’ve been missing out! I’m notorious for getting my hands tangled in the wires while running, and violently ripping the earbuds out of my ears. It’s a little painful. I was pretty excited when Jabra ROX offered to send me a pair of their Bluetooth wireless headphones to try.
The sound is crystal clear and AMAZING. They’re also easy to set up and use. At first, I was worried they were too big for my ears, but after using the attachments, they stay put pretty well. I’m excited to see how they pass the “ear sweat” test on a distance run.
Jabra kindly offered a pair of these for a lucky reader as well (valued at $130!). To enter, just leave a comment below with your current favorite workout song and I’ll pick a lucky winner Monday night at midnight (EST).
Happy Friday! See ya later today for Fitness Fashion Friday.
xoxo
Gina

All About that Bass – I love it!
I’m horrible when it comes to artists and song names so I use the Rock my Run app. You pick what type of music you want and the duration and listen to “stations” they put together. So easy, especially for someone like me.
I need to read all these comments and add some to my running playlist! My current jam is Pink’s Walk of Shame.
Lately I’ve been loving Don’t by Ed Sheeran. There’s something about that beat when I’m running….!!!
Loving Anaconda!
Taylor Swifts Shake It Off!
Those are awesome! I’m the same as you..I hate cords! My fave workout song is ‘Til I Collapse’ by Eminem. Running fave!
I know this will sound crazy, but I’ve actually been enjoying listening to podcasts while I run. There’s a Sherlock Holmes Adventure one that’s probably from the 50s, but it’s so fun to run to. Gets my mind off of the fact that I’m… well… running! =)
Shake it Off by Taylor Swift. I think it is super catchy and the video is hilarious!
This one has been around for several years now, but I still love Blackout by Breathe Carolina. The lyrics are spot on when I’m running – “I’m only getting started – I won’t blackout.” 😉
I love running to Pink – Just Like a Pill. I’ve been thinking about getting some wireless earbuds – so helpful to read your comments on the Jabra’s.
Lately I cannot get enough of Iggy Azalea’s new song “Black Widow” – obsessed!!!
Hideaway by Kiesza while I’m doing spin! There’s a remix that’s the perfect climb song!
This week has been all about Taylor Swift’s new song “Shake it Out” but Avril Lavigne’s “Girlfriend” is GREAT when I need a boost while running
I still get energized listening to Robin Thicke’s Blurred Lines. Thanks for the giveaway!
“Pumpin Blood” by NONONO gets me through my long runs!!
I can’t stop listening to “Chandelier” by Sia!
Regarding the contest entry, I like to listen to books on tape while I run. I hope that doesn’t disqualify me! I love totally escaping into the story and I really look forward to the run so I can hear what’s going to happen. Right now I am listening to Maya Angelou’s “I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings”.
Also, re: the wine. I picked up a bottle of Apothic Dark after considering the Midnight you wrote about it. It was only about $2 more, and it was SO delicious. If you can find it, try it!
I have been loving Chandelier!
Beautiful pictures, Gina! I love Coronado so much it hurts. Maybe I am missing it, but is there somewhere on your blog where you have some dining recommendations in SD? I will be visiting later this month, and I would love some healthy/vegetarian friendly options.
The drumming song by Florence and the Machine!
I’ve been totally into “Bang Bang” by Jessie J, Nicki Minaj, and Ariana Grande! The chorus is so catchy!
Currently my favorite is Taylor Swift’s “Shake it off.” I know there’s all this buzz about it, but it’s so darn catchy – and it has a great beat. 🙂
Anything Could Happen – Ellie Goulding. I love all of her songs actually.
My current favorite workout song is Black Widow.
And omg that food looks amazing! I want to eat all that avocado!

Still love eminem, pretty much any of his songs work perfectly for any workout
