Friday faves + Jabra Rox giveaway
Hi! Happy Friday! What are you up to this weekend? Any fun parties or BBQs planned?? (Here’s a post with some healthy BBQ ideas if you’re planning ahead!)
We’ve had a wonderful time hanging out with the Pilot’s mama/MIL/Livi’s nana this past week. It’s been so much fun to show her around San Diego and enjoy time together. Since the Pilot has been gone frequently since we’ve been here, it took a little longer than we’d hoped to get her out here for a visit. Thankfully, it finally happened, and it’s been great to have her here.
Some faves from the week and around the web:
The Old Spice Guy’s ice bucket challenge video.
THIS HOBO. I’ve been eyeing it for a while and now it’s on s-a-l-e…
The science behind making the perfect cookie.
THIS WINE. We’re fans of the classic over here, but I was stoked to see the Midnight version at Baron’s. It is to diiieeee for; probably in my top five inexpensive reds. We’ll definitely be getting it again!
Finding my beloved eyebrow brush. This is a random thing to love so much, but my Anastasia stencil and eyebrow brush have been missing for a week. I unearthed them from under the makeup drawer, in the way, way back (along with a long lost lipgloss). It was like Christmas!
More reasons coconut oil is awesome.
Yoga Rave in Tucson! I love Session Yoga and the cause (Ben’s Bells); hoping to make it down there for this. If you live in Tucson or nearby, check out the details here. It’s going to be an incredible event.
Stability ball exercises for a strong back.
These earbuds. It was my first time trying wireless headphones, and man, I’ve been missing out! I’m notorious for getting my hands tangled in the wires while running, and violently ripping the earbuds out of my ears. It’s a little painful. I was pretty excited when Jabra ROX offered to send me a pair of their Bluetooth wireless headphones to try.
The sound is crystal clear and AMAZING. They’re also easy to set up and use. At first, I was worried they were too big for my ears, but after using the attachments, they stay put pretty well. I’m excited to see how they pass the “ear sweat” test on a distance run.
Jabra kindly offered a pair of these for a lucky reader as well (valued at $130!). To enter, just leave a comment below with your current favorite workout song and I’ll pick a lucky winner Monday night at midnight (EST).
Happy Friday! See ya later today for Fitness Fashion Friday.
xoxo
Gina
Current favorite work out song is Priscilla by Miranda Lambert. Love her new cd!
ROAR by Katy Perry has been my favorite since it came out, nothing has replaced it yet! 🙂 I would DIE for a pair of wireless earbuds… it is my biggest running pet peeve to have the earbud wires bouncing around haha.
Love the pictures! Currently in San Diego for a weekend vacation. Staying at the hotel del Coronado! Super cool! Favorite workout song: anything off of !Pink’s albums!
Shake it off has been getting me energized lately
Currently loving Come With Me Now by the Kongos. Such a good pump up beat!
A light than never comes by linken park has been getting me pumped up during workouts!
ahh! It is too tough to narrow it down to just one! My two favorite songs are “Turn Down for What” by DJ Snake/Lil Jon and “Work B****” by Britney Spears. I could be ready to keel over and if these songs come on I get so pumped! 🙂
I’ll go for All About the Bass, too. So funny.
I LOVE that wine! I just tried it last week and it’s a new fave of mine as well – did you try the Apotihic Dark when they had that out last year around Christmas? If they bring it back this year be sure to try it because it’s very similar to the Menage a Trois Midnight.
As for music, I have a tendency to listen to heavy metal when I run because it amps me up, and Slipknot just dropped 2 songs that are a.m.a.z.i.n.g. for running – HARD and FAST!!
Girl on Fire – Alicia Keys
Excited to try that wine!
My current fave is Seven Nation Army – White Stripes… In Baltimore that is the pump up sports song for both the baseball and the football team so it always gets me moving!
I usually don’t workout to music, except when I teach BodyPump and Les Mills does a fantastic job with their music selections!
all those photos are gorgeous! california sure is a beautiful place, so blessed to get to live here!
I love that wine! I’m waiting to get the okay to run again after having a baby and the wait is killing me!
It depends on the workout! If I’m running I like songs I know all the words to, especially 90s bands like Third Eye Blind.
Black Eyed Peas’ Pump It
I always just play my playlist on spotify. I don’t have a favorite. Anything upbeat is good!
The new Enrique song (Bailando) gets me every time- I just love it!
I play in maybe..3 times a day? 🙂 Too much?
loooove zumba-ing to bailando, and cooling down to pharrell’s happy 🙂
Iggy Azalea gets me energized – still loving ‘Fancy.’
I don’t want to live there — Lonely Forrest. My yoga instructor has this at the end of the playlist, right before savasana.
Happy! (By Pharrel Williams) … Still makes me happy 🙂
i’ve been obsessed with bailando ever since you posted your zumba video recently!
I’ll have to pick up a bottle of that wine soon!
I’m training for my first 10k ever (eek!) and have been listening to Shake Senora by Pitbull. It just never gets old! Also, those headphones look awesome. Thanks for the fun giveaway, Gina!
I love running to any Pink song. I love the tempo and she has such a strong body it helps motivate me.
Chandelier, by Sia. Makes me want to run around and hang off of chandeliers.
I would love to have some wireless headphones…I too have the problem of yanking them out when swinging my arms 🙂 When lifting weights it’s anything by Halestorm. That music just pumps me up to go harder and longer. While running it’s anything upbeat that keeps me going.
Current favorite workout song: Fireball by Pitbull.
Dangerous by Big Data, it’s kinda sexy and has a great bass line that keeps me moving on those long runs 🙂
Have you tried Apothic Red? It’s my fave. I’ve been digging Pink and Black Eyed Peas lately. I usually hit the Pandora Pop Workout station. And if I want something intense my go to is Marilyn Manson or Rob Zombie, heavy metal gets the ol’ heart pumpin’!
yeah it’s one of my favorites!
Upgrade You! By Beyonce and Jay-z
I’ve been looking for some wireless headphones as well. I’ll have to take a look at these!
I love doing some intervals to some old school Pitbull. Great fast beats to do your fast intervals to.
Bang, Bang is my current favorite song to work out with! Those also look like they’d come in handy on the subway, where I frequently tangle my headphone cords with my bag, my book, my yoga mat, the person next to me and even once, in a super embarrassing moment, the pole on the subway.
fancy by iggy
My current favorite workout song actually came off of your website–Daddy Yankee’s Limbo! It always helps me finish out that last mile 🙂
Ring The Alarm by Beyonce. I used to love the Les Mills version for Body Combat, but I have to settle for the radio mix! I’ve been wanting to ask , what podcast do you like for Yoga?
My favorite workout song this summer has been “Counting Stars.” When it comes on it’s like I get an extra burst of energy!
All About that bass! Love it!
I’m loving the xx – Intro right now for my runs!
The song I’m rockin’ right now is “Blinded” by Third Eye Blind… THROWBACK.
Anything by Vampire Weekend!
Currently love “Pumping Blood” by NONONO. Makes me want to whistle along to the tune! 😀
Its a bit silly, but I love working out to Kanye West’s The New Workout Song, I like the beat and for some reason it always puts a smile on my face. Wireless headphones are a great idea! I do the same thing of getting tangled up in my headphones and yanking them out of my ears!
My fav workout jam right now is Clarity! 🙂
Oh, and Im LOVING Bailando!!
Happy by Pharrel Williams
I’ll have to try that wine – loooving the inexpensive reds lately! Usually I go for the Apothic Red. 😉
“Love Runs Out” by OneRepublic is an amazing running song. And some others that are guilty pleasure songs that I don’t like to admit I like. hehe
Something Bad, Miranda Lambert & Carrie Underwood
I have so many go to songs, but right now I’m really feeling Florence & the Machine No Light, No Light *insert heart eyes*
Ghost by Ella Henderson! It has the best beat.
