Future Pet Hoarder?

Hey friends 🙂 How’s your day been?

I fell in love with about 50 dogs today. As a little adventure, we went to play with puppies at the Humane Society… especially since the fam knew I’ve been looking for a little friend for Bella. Ever since Viesa went off to college, we can tell Bella’s a little lonely, even though I walk with her every day and we all play and snuggle with her. She doesn’t have anyone to speak “dog” to, but we’d like it to be a dog who doesn’t want to eat her.

Today, we met Tiffany.

tiffany

She’s a 3-year-old dachshund and her past owner’s couldn’t care for her anymore. She’s a sweet and lovey little thing, and we all think that she and Bell would get along well.

We’ll have to see if the queen approves…

bell

(Bell loves ALL dogs)

they’re meeting tomorrow!

Wouldn’t they be cute little friends??

I talked to the Pilot about it today, and after he called me a future animal hoarder (there were at least 4 dogs I was ready to take home), he said he was ok with it. Winner, winner

Cheesecake Factory for dinner 🙂

(The standard Fresh Vegetable Salad with goat cheese instead of cheddar, blackened salmon, balsamic on the side. That’s an appetizer portion! CF doesn’t mess around)

To celebrate my bro’s b-day, we all had linner this afternoon together.

+ a dozen family members that I didn’t ask for permission to blog 😉

It was a delicious meal, and since I dominated my salad, I just had a little snack to seal the deal for the evening.

Brown rice cake with goat cream cheese 🙂

I’m actually off to a meeting right now about another potential teaching opportunity. Looks like I’ll be a teaching machine pretty soon here! Can’t wait 😀

Have a great night and I’ll see ya in the morning <3

Upcoming: We may launch the new blog sooner rather than later—I’ll let ya know the official date very soon 🙂

Tiffany is so cute! I wish my dog was a snuggler! Both my dog and the husb are anti-snugglers. Yet they snuggle and I get left out…hah.

Can’t wait to see the new blog. I would be a pet hoarded to, thats why I cant go to such place like the SPCA. I am really sensitive when it comes to animals.

Love your blog!! My parents have a red dachshund, Scarlet, and she is soooo sweet!! You will love the breed. I think that’s good so that Bella will have a friend…my hubby and I have 2 boxer puppies and it’s so great because they always have a buddy to play with! 🙂

Poor puppy…I hope Bells approves so you can give her a home!

  9. Lindsay@livinglindsay on April 21, 2011 at 10:32 pm

Yay for Tiffany!!! She’s precious and deserves a fabulous home where she’ll be loved! I so hope it works out and Bella loves her! I’m so happy you are rescuing a dog. I wish everyone would start with a shelter or rescue when they are in search for a new family pet. So many animals are ready to be loved and need to find homes. Tiffany will be a lucky girl – Tiffanista 🙂

I love animals too!! I wish that they could all live with me 🙂 My dog is the reason I became a Vegetarian.

  23. Ashley @ Feeding Ashley on April 21, 2011 at 11:20 pm

    I spot twisty bangs!
Aw the puppy is so cute, but I’m confused. If Viesa wanted to eat Bella, why would Bella miss her?
I can’t wait for the new blog, its gonna be amazeballz.

awwh, bella is getting a friend. i hope this doesn’t mean we’re going to see less photos of bella. i really enjoy the daily updates and pics of her. speaking of bella pictures, one of my absolute faves was back in valdosta, you were doing yoga or some other workout, bella was looking at you, and your comment “she judges me” was so fitting. LOL. in the picture she literally looked like she was judging you. LOL. hilarious.

    • Fitnessista on April 22, 2011 at 10:48 am

bella will still be a regular on the blog 🙂
hahaha and she’s judging me while i type this

Your salad at Cheesecake factory looks amazing. How much extra do they charge for the blackened salmon on top of the salad?

    • Fitnessista on April 22, 2011 at 10:47 am

      i’m not sure :/ i don’t think it’s anything too crazy- maybe a few $?

  35. Char on April 22, 2011 at 6:39 am

  39. Katie on April 22, 2011 at 7:23 am

Awwww Tiffany is so sweet! Bless you guys for going there and not coming out with every animal, I can’t ever go to a shelter, it breaks my heart : ( I used to volunteer though and help walk the dogs at local shelter back home! I hope she works out!

Your bro is cute and his girlfriend is so pretty! Glad he had a great birthday!

Have a good day! yay for Friday!! xoxo <3

  40. Christine @ Burning It Off on April 22, 2011 at 7:39 am

I have to stay away from pet shelters because once I’m in one, I find it so hard to leave. I hate hearing about animals who’ve been abandoned or abused.

  41. bonnie on April 22, 2011 at 7:51 am

she’s adorable! can’t wait to hear how the meeting goes! i know how you feel about wanting to adopt them all. a few weeks ago the hubby and i went to visit some friends that volunteer at a cat rescue and we wound up adopting one of the cats! she jumped from her cage and right into my lap. it was a done deal right there! 🙂

  42. Erin@GlamPersuasion on April 22, 2011 at 8:03 am

Our family owns several dachshunds but they are very stubborn little creatures! In fact my FIL owns a long hair, English cream – I can’t tell exactly from the picture if that’s what Tiffany is but it looks like it. They are gorgeous dogs! Good luck on adopting <3

  43. Nicole @ Fresh & Fit on April 22, 2011 at 8:15 am

The mall near my house has a pet store, I feel so bad for all those little pups I have to play with one every time I go. The shelter, forget about it. I cry ever time I go there.

I hope the pups get along! Tiffany is so cute. Her name suite her!

  44. Chelsea @ One Healthy Munchkin on April 22, 2011 at 8:36 am

Tiffany is so cute! I hope her and Bella get along! 😀

Also just wondering, did you have a dog back when you were a student? I’m dying to get a dog, but I don’t know if it’s a responsibility I could take on while I’m still in school.

    • Fitnessista on April 22, 2011 at 10:46 am

yes, i had bella for the second half of junior year and all of senior year. for junior year, my schedule wasn’t too bad, so i left her at the apartment while i went to class, and when i taught dance, i dropped her off at my mom’s house. by senior year, she was totally fine to be home by herself while i went to school for longer blocks (my mom still watched her while i went to dance at night)
sometimes, i brought her to class with me. she was SO tiny, and no one noticed during lecture 😉

  45. Mo on April 22, 2011 at 8:59 am

What a wonderful thought to get Bella a buddy. I love how you refer to the V dog as being in college. I could never set foot in our humane society – it would break my heart to leave any of them behind. I can’t even go to their darn website and look at photos! Bless you for rescuing Tiffany – seems to be a perfect match, for you and Bella. I’m so excited for you. Have a terrific Friday and an even better weekend.
