Midnight roons
Hiiiii ๐ Happy Saturday! Hope youโre having a lovely morning <3
Last night, I decided to make it legit that we really live here.
{Thanks for the tips on fixing the yellow! Per your suggestions, I set a custom white balance and it worked like a charm}
Midnight macaroons are dehydrating away!
But depending on how many *disappear* over the weekend, I may have quite a few left overโฆ.
I wonder what Iโll do with the extrasโฆ ๐
Todayโs lunch + snacks are packed up and ready to go:
TBLT ๐
{Tempeh bacon, avocado, lettuce and tomato on brown rice bread}
Goatโs milk yogurt, a peach, wasabi seaweed snacks (canโt wait to try these)
Bfast was a smoothie + toast. Definitely feasting on carbs today because itโs going to be a longie at work!
Iโm also being trained by this one guy again all day, so it should be a LaBlasty ๐
See ya later!
xoxo
Gina
Something to talk about: What exciting fitness event do you have going on this weekend? A race? New fitness class? I love hearing what youโre up to ๐
All I want out of life is to taste one of those Lavender ‘roons! Maybe an extra one will appear at HLS! ๐
i’m going to bring a boatload with me to hls ๐
Yessssss!
HUBBA HUBBA!! I love late night baking! Late last night I made a crunchy quinoa cereal that is ready for me this morning ๐ LOVE!!
Have a great day!
xxoo
Ohh! That sounds tasty. I bought some quinoa, but have yet to experiment with it!
Have fun today! A bunch of my zumbies and I are heading to a summer concert today that Pitbull is headlining. I think there will certainly be some concert Zumba going on there! ๐
Just on my way to run a trail race in beautiful North Vancouver, Canada!!
I’m eating a bowl of chocolate chia pudding (made with light coconut milk – yum) and blueberries after an especially sweaty Bikram yoga class tis morning! An awesome way to start the day!
You inspired me to make a BLT for lunch today! Thanks.
This weekend is a Bodyrock type of weekend ๐
Hi! Just found your blog and I love it! I am not much of a cook so your photos and ideas inspire me ๐ Look forward to reading more.
~Robin
strength training today and cardio tomorrow! btw, i did your work out yesterday and it was so awesome! thanks! going to a wedding later today in my seksi dress and sparkly shoes and clutch..all sore but it’s all good! ๐
I do believe some of those extras will go to one lucky reader? Oh yes please!
Love the dedicated counter space for your dehydrator! I need to do that. hehe
That TBLT looks amazing. Yum!
Wow you have some great ideas for meals. I just had a Greek quinoa salad. I want to try the seaweed snacks soon. Im following your OpenSky account and noticed some fun stuff on there too.
Check out this site about creating fun lunches… http://bentozen.wordpress.com/ . Unbelievable…now if only I had time to try that. Im a new Mom so my workouts right now are mostly walking the neighborhood or the mall with some ab exercises to get my stomach fit again. He runs the show right now so its hard to get to a gym but I really do miss working out.
And yes I agree with Andrea… a lucky reader should would like some Midnight Macaroons!! Woohoo!
Im hitting up a bikram class tomorrow!
I agree, that TBLT looks fabulous! ๐ I have yet to try tempeh bacon but I’m definitely inspired now! A giveaway of macaroons would be lovely! ๐
Where do you buy tempeh bacon? I’ve been searching for it but my trader joes doesn’t carry it ๐
i made it ๐ it’s linked in the post- super easy and SO good
gah me wants roons ๐
I need to get my dehydrator going, gotta get some dehydrated meals made for camping!!
Ahhhh the wasabi seaweed snacks have a kick to them, but I love them!!!!
Happy Saturday! xoxo <3
Hi Gina!
Your ‘roons rock my world! I made (and devoured) my first batch the other day ๐
Also, I just wanted to tell you how inspiring your blog has been for me!! ๐ I’m working towards becoming a nurse and personal trainer, and you always have such great ideas that totally motivate me to keep working hard! I’m just entering the world of blogging, and I love reading your blog for inspiration!
Thanks!!
Rachel
I’m going to the beach this week and have been absolutely dreaming about running on the boardwalk in the morning (while the fiance sleeps till noon, of course). Time to get that bikini on! ๐
OMG where did you find the seaweed snacks?! I need them! (I buy that brand often).
This weekend, nothing new on the fitness front! Might go running in the rain, which I haven’t done in ages but LOVE to do!
sunflower market ๐
I’m doing a 10K trail run tomorrow morning at 10,000 feet. We get to run up and across Durango Mountain Resort….yay!
have an amazing run!
The ‘rooms look delicious! I went to Zumba this morning… The ultimate killer of negativity. It’s sort of ridiculous how much I’m loving it lately. Later I’m headed to the beach to chill, then a long bike ride through northern Indiana tomorrow!
Lunch looks yummy! I don’t even like tomatoes, but I often add them to my meals just because it makes them look prettier and more appetizing. Kinda weird? haha.
The highlight of this weekend’s fitness agenda was the half marathon I ran this morning. Not my best performance, what with the 90% humidity and having taken 4 months off running due to injuries, but it was fun to race again. ๐
Totally unrelated to this post, but I was wondering what your fave Lululemon gear is? I’m heading over there for the first time this weekend, and would like to know your thoughts ๐ Thanks!
cool racerback, power y tank, flow y bra, wunder under crops, groovy run shorts, knock out shorts ๐
Thanks, Gina! So excited ๐
I’d love to hear what you think of the wasabi snacks! Also– since you recently posted about inspiring people to start thinking about spring races, I’d love to hear your thoughts on adjusting (read:increasing) your fuel intake as training ramps up. My track workout this week was an epic fail, probably due to the fact that I hadn’t eaten enough or the right stuff that day. 11 miles this morning went MUCH better because I made sure to eat enough yesterday/last night, and I had a little bit before heading out into the heat early this a.m.
you definitely need to increase your fuel along with your activity level- do you wear a heart rate monitor?
and the wasabi snacks were AWESOME. my new fave ๐
I love your special place for your dehydrator! It makes it seem so legit!!
I completed my first half marathon today! I cannot believe I did it but I needed to get back to my car somehow!! haha Everyone was so supportive of all the participants! It was very emotional!!
Yoga today, BodyPure (taking a friend for her first class!!) and yoga tomorrow, and lots of walking in between. Errands become an adventure when I park at one store and walk to another, especially when it’s like Frogger to cross busy streets. Success = six stores and only three parking lots. (4 of the 6 stores were food-related <3)
This morning was my favorite spin class…favorite because it’s instructed by one of the best…he plays awesome music and it’s more like a spin party with an awesome amount of energy and the hour is over before you know it! ๐
music makes all the difference in the world
Hi Gina! (I’ve gone from being a lurker to commenting 3 times in a week!)
This weekend on the fitness front I’m going to try running 4 miles without stopping for the first time since I did a half-marathon back in May 2010! I’m nervous (I stopped running for a while and I’m not a naturally strong runner anyway) but I’m hoping I can push through! I’m rewarding myself with 2 luxurious hours of yoga and Zumba on Tuesday, regardless ๐
yay for stepping out of lurkdom, and for being a workout rockstar- enjoy your yoga and zumba day on tuesday!
I made my protein cinnamon raisin oat bran cookies last night — ummm so good. You betta be giving dem roons away!
Strength-training today and kickboxing tomorrow!
This weekend, the boyfriend and I ran in a torrential downpour. It was an adventure.
The custom white balance setting…girl I can totally see a decease in yellow in just one post..awesome tweak!
The dehyd running all night..ok so I have this paranoia about it getting too hot and something bad happening and can never fully fall asleep when I try that. I wish I could, but I can’t. I know, I’m weird! I wish I could sleep thru it because I hardly ever use it.
And I need to make macaroons in it..not just in the oven but in the dehyd. Yours always look AMAZING!
TBLT’s are bomb!!! I love the idea to put avocado on them. It looks idyllic!
I just bought some tempeh for the first time ever and I think I’m going to make your tempeh bacon!
dang I still can’t find those seaweed snacks!! ๐
I love how roon making is your way of christening the house! I couldn’t think of a better way!!!
it definitely feels official now ๐
Wow, that TBLT looks perfect! I’ve never tried tempeh before, but this has made me want to get some asap!
I miss my dehydrator badly! We just PCS’d from Guam to Japan last week. We spent all day Saturday taking the train to Yokohama and wandering around ChinaTown and Yokosuka. This morning I did a short run in Yokosuka and after showers and breakfast, we’re headed to Kawasaki to Costco and more walking.
I love TLT’s! I call my version the STAT – sprouts, tempeh, avocado, and tomato. It’s my favourite combo! ๐
I got quinoa and tempah today! I’m so excited! I also found So Delicious coconut milk yogurt. ๐ Time to experiment!
Those roons like A-MAZING!
I did a Zumba certification today!!!! It was an absolute blast!!
who taught?!
Ooh hope LaBlast was fun today!
I went for a nice run today, and will be horseback riding tomorrow morning. Good times!
sounds awesome!
yes, it was a lablast ๐
Haha I didn’t bake at midnight…. but I have been known to do so! Featured your quinoa tortillas in my most recent bloggie! xoxo http://anniessimplelife.blogspot.com/2011/08/end-of-era.html
yay, glad you liked them!
I picked peaches for the first time today. I haven’t eaten one yet but I’m hoping I like it!
Love the midnight roons! There is no better way to make a new place feel like you’re truly home than baking an old favorite!
Fitness events: traveling in Cambodia, so hopefully I can do some yoga/jumping around in the hotel room. So hot and hard to work out here!
I have to tell you, I always ate my sandwiches open face, just like you. The fillings are the best part! I used to make pb and j sandwiches with so much pb and j that you could not have closed the sandwich and lifted it to your mouth even if you tried. I would just drag the bread to the edge of the plate and munch from there. Gross to think of now, but your super stuffed open faced sandwiches reminded me of that!
that’s so funny! i eat the toppings off mine first with a fork, then the bread ๐
Just got back from climbing Mt. Whitney. It was incredible. Took 10 hours to ascend (averaging 1.1 mph on the way up) and 8 to descend. Will need to wait 10 years until I forget how brutal it was. Haha. Definitely more of a Half Dome fan, but glad I tackled Whitney!
The TBLT looks amazing. I’ve had renown once before and wasn’t crazy about the texture but maybe I should give it another chance. My fitness plans were to go to the gym despite it being the BF’s birthday weekend but celebrating got in the way. Hoping to go tonight, I need to lose some weight for a wedding at the end of the month.
I am making TLTAs for my family birthday picnic today. ๐
