Don’t you love when something totally unexpected makes your day a little brighter?

moon

(Gorgeous full moon last night! Now if only I knew how to make my camera photograph it like an actual moon instead of a dot, that’d be kinda cool)

Well, that’s what happened yesterday 🙂

package

First I was excited to see a package that didn’t have the Amazon smiley face on it –those tend to pop up over here pretty frequently- and then I saw “perishable food” and things got even more ridic.

cookies5

A package of Chicago foodie goodies from our good friends Mara and Adam 🙂

Carol’s cookies, Garrett’s popcorn and a deep dish pizza. No words.

I couldn’t open the popcorn fast enough….

and put the pizza in the oven, just in time for the Pilot to get home from work.

Random acts of kindness are truly amazing, and whenever someone does something nice for me, it makes me want to share the positive energy with someone else… so I thought it would be a great day for a giveaway- it’s been a while since we’ve had one of those over here!

After reading the comments on yesterday’s YouTube fitness post, I remembered that many of you also enjoy working out at home, so I thought I’d share one of my favorite at-home workouts with a blog friend:

image image

Winner’s choice: Insanity or Turbofire

You can read my reviews in the links above and decide whether you would prefer a drill-based high-impact workout, or a dance meets kickbox high-energy workout. It makes it even harder to choose because Shaun T. is fun and verryyyy nice to look at, and Chalene is a firecracker of motivation and energy.

All ya have to do:

-Leave a comment with your favorite at-home workout option

(If it’s your first time commenting, I’ll be approving those throughout the day, so no worries if it doesn’t show up right away)

This giveaway is sponsored by Livi and Bella- the winner will be chosen tonight at midnight EST and announced tomorrow am.

To sweeten the deal:

roons

Hope you have an amazing humpday!

See ya later with a Family post.

xoxo

So nice of you!! My favorite at-home workout of the moment is my treadmill! I’m such a baby about running in the cold, so I’m a slave to the treadmill until it warms up around here. It’s not so bad actually…I really enjoy running and watching movies at the same time 🙂

  2. Nicole on March 7, 2012 at 1:33 pm

I’ve been loving ChaLEAN extreme lately! And it may not count, but I own all the Wii dancing games (the Just Dance ones and the Michael Jackson one) and definitely break a sweat having dance battles with my family!

  3. molly on March 7, 2012 at 1:33 pm

    bodyrock- quick, intense and free!
    i’m a broke college student

  4. wandak on March 7, 2012 at 1:34 pm

I love Jillian Michael’s 30 day shred. I would love to work out to Chalene!!

  5. Melodie on March 7, 2012 at 1:34 pm

I like Jillian Michaels 30 day shred for a quick work out. And then P90X if I have 1 hour+ to put into it. I would love insanity and would never turn down the roons. 🙂

  6. Alicia @culinarybliss on March 7, 2012 at 1:34 pm

I just love good living room yoga 🙂

  7. Hayley on March 7, 2012 at 1:35 pm

I use the treadmill or do yoga!

  8. Avery @ YoungAspirations on March 7, 2012 at 1:35 pm

My favorite at home work out is yoga! Since I’ve am currently taking a yoga class as a college elective, I’ve been memorizing flows on my own and can do them easier at home. Also, I don’t have to jump up and down at all so the apartment below doesn’t hate me 🙂

  9. Trang on March 7, 2012 at 1:35 pm

As a mom of two lil ones, I love running on my treadmill at home. Twice a week though, I am able to get out and do Zumba and kickboxing at a local dance studio. I would love to try Turbofire. 🙂

  10. Lindsay on March 7, 2012 at 1:35 pm

My favorite at home workouts are yoga and anything from the amazing Jackie Warner (lovee her!) 🙂

  11. Kelsey on March 7, 2012 at 1:36 pm

I love to do yoga at home. It’s so great to shut everything off and get my om on! I have been wanting to try both of these DVD’s as I’m getting married in September and wanting something fun to tone up for our big day! Love your bloggie so much <3

  12. cadence on March 7, 2012 at 1:36 pm

I could use this! It would immediately become my favorite at-home fitness option, since right now its a little yoga (which is hard with a puppy–you down dog & she licks your ears!) or running (often, again, with the puppy, which limits me to about a mile). I tend to save my work outs for my lunch break at work…puppys are cute, but they do cut in to your at-home work out time.

  13. nicole on March 7, 2012 at 1:36 pm

I really enjoy bodyrock and appreciate the short but intense workouts. I have been thinking about buying insanity- it would be awesome if I didn’t have to 😉

  14. Lauren on March 7, 2012 at 1:36 pm

When I workout at home I love doing yoga with my boyfriend, there’s nothing more fun than working out together with the occasional interruption from our puppy who always wants to get in on the action too!

  15. Natalie on March 7, 2012 at 1:37 pm

Body Rock (and Zuzanna’s new stuff on her own)! Also, Jillian Michael’s–she’s a little grating at times, but the workouts are nice and tough. 🙂

  16. Shelby on March 7, 2012 at 1:37 pm

I love doing pilates at home, but I’ve always wanted to try Turbofire! I’m an extremely busy student, so at home workouts are really convenient.

  17. Sammi on March 7, 2012 at 1:37 pm

I did P90X all the way through, and while I liked the workouts and how my body changed it too way too LONG. My roommate and I have been meaning to try Insanity for a while though, so this giveaway is just perfect for us!

  18. erica on March 7, 2012 at 1:37 pm

love yogadownload and physique57 dvds, but am really intrigued by turbofire!!

  19. Kristen on March 7, 2012 at 1:38 pm

I love p90x!! I’d love to try Turbofire next.

  20. anna on March 7, 2012 at 1:38 pm

My husband and I used to do P90X, but felt it was too time consuming. I’d love to try Turbofire!

  21. Amelia on March 7, 2012 at 1:38 pm

At home I like to do the Shred DVD or yoga downloads podcasts. Both don’t need much equipment and are fairly quick.

  22. Steph @ funnygirltales on March 7, 2012 at 1:38 pm

Shake weight! Haha just kidding. Since I don’t have any at home work out DVDs I tend to find a random workout post online from you or one of my other favorite bloggers and go to town! I like knowing that the workout was created by someone whose health and fitness advice I trust.

  23. Nicole on March 7, 2012 at 1:39 pm

You are the best!! I love, love, love doing Bodyrock at home. At first I’d watch the videos and think there was no way I could ever do those exercises, but over time I’ve really enjoyed trying out new ones whenever I get the chance. Thanks for the great giveaway! 🙂

  24. Cena on March 7, 2012 at 1:39 pm

I love doing Insanity or a Jillian Michaels DVD at home, after work!

  25. Lindsey on March 7, 2012 at 1:40 pm

ohhhh a giveaway to get us over that “hump” 🙂 My favorite at home workout is yoga. Usually if i’m pressed for time and can’t get to the gym, the thing i need most is to just take some time to “breathe” and clear my head. Funny how a simple thing like the breath can relieve so much stress

  26. kim on March 7, 2012 at 1:40 pm

    yoga dvd’s!

  27. Courtney on March 7, 2012 at 1:40 pm

my Barre3 dvd (love this mix of ballet/yoga/pilates)!! Or, any Jillian workout.

  28. Grace on March 7, 2012 at 1:40 pm

Yoga podcasts are a great strech/sweat sess. But I do love doing BodyRock–and improvising for the equipment

  29. Courtney on March 7, 2012 at 1:40 pm

Jillian Michaels 30 day shred is the only workout vid i’ve used at home but I do lift weights and do abs while watchign TV on days I don’t get a chance to go to the gym!

  30. VMort on March 7, 2012 at 1:42 pm

I prefer to not work out at home, but when I have to, I go old school at it and do push ups, lunges, planks, etc… and I always feel it the next day! 🙂

  31. Ashley on March 7, 2012 at 1:42 pm

My favorite at home workout is videos from myyogaonline.com. Tons of great yoga workouts to choose from. And of course, the Tone It Up girls!

  32. Jenni on March 7, 2012 at 1:43 pm

Oh wow, this give away couldn;t come at a better time! As the weather gets warmer here in Canada, I am realising I might have let my winter insulation get a little out of hand! My favorite at home work out is definately taking my mini shnauzer Sarge for a jog. Something I hope to do tonight after work, since its +15 right now! But I also need something to do when the weather isn’t cooperating. Insanity would be my pick!

  33. lauren alysse on March 7, 2012 at 1:44 pm

favorite at home work out is def. p90x. but i’d love to expand to insanity or turbofire!!

  34. Maggie on March 7, 2012 at 1:44 pm

I love doing bodyweight circuits at home! I also love the Nike Trainer App 🙂 What a great giveaway!

  35. Katherine on March 7, 2012 at 1:45 pm

I love working out at home because I don’t have to leave my dog by himself, silly, I know! As a former dancer, turbo fire seems like it would be a great fit for me!

  36. Maggie on March 7, 2012 at 1:45 pm

I do like the Jillian Michaels 30 day shred…though I haven’t been able to get myself past the first level. Whoops – I guess that’s what happens when you have so much going on.

But I also like to see what Netflix has available as streaming fitness videos, and those are interesting to try. Really hit or miss, and some of them are fairly old, but that doesn’t mean they’re not good!

  37. Tiffany A. on March 7, 2012 at 1:45 pm

What an awesome giveaway! I love doing bodyrock but I also have a treadmill at home that I like to use.

  38. Karina on March 7, 2012 at 1:46 pm

I do most of my workouts out home to videos, right now my favorite dvds are by Kelly Coffey Meyer, she is fantastic. I would love to win TurboFire!

  39. Erica K on March 7, 2012 at 1:46 pm

I have a few “at-home” faves but I have to say I’m an a-la-carte kind of a girl and do a mixture of tabata, abs, and zumba videos.

  40. Melissa on March 7, 2012 at 1:46 pm

Yoga! I especially like to hold certain yoga or stretching poses while studying. That and other stationary exercises (like leg lifts, superman, and core holds) are what get me through some chapters of my reading!

  41. bonnie on March 7, 2012 at 1:46 pm

    Jillian Michaels dvds

  42. Kim on March 7, 2012 at 1:46 pm

I have a few different videos that allow me to break up the monotony but I also really like doing body weight circuits – squats, lunges, push ups, dips, etc.

    Great giveaway!!

  43. Yvette on March 7, 2012 at 1:46 pm

I run on my treadmill in the early a.m., then do a quick circuit like Bodyrock in the afternoon. I also sometimes jump on my mini trampoline after dinner while watching t.v. – which is better than sitting on the couch watching t.v. 😀

  44. alice on March 7, 2012 at 1:47 pm

circuit training! just make up different circuits with different exercises!

  45. laura on March 7, 2012 at 1:47 pm

i love doing tabata intervals! gets my heart rate up real quick!

  46. Ali on March 7, 2012 at 1:48 pm

Girl, I don’t think that you hear it enough. You are awesome. You are so warm and so friendly, your blog is like coming to a safe place. I love all your thoughts and inspiration. I don’t know if you are wanting to send your stuff to canada where I live, but I have already done one round of insanity, so I would so go for the turbo fire! You should try P90X, I think you would LOVE T Horts. He is my fav. <3

  47. Megan Aucutt on March 7, 2012 at 1:48 pm

My favorite at home work out is yoga, using free downloads or Itunes and fun Pinterest workouts. Some of those circuit workouts on Pinterest are hard! And of course I love taking my pup, Brynn, on her walks….(not necessarily at home I know but still counts right?! 😉 )

  48. Cellabella on March 7, 2012 at 1:48 pm

Great giveaway! Workout videos are definitely my go-to at-home exercise routine. I’ve always wanted to try insanity and Turbo fire looks like fun!

  49. Lindsay@LivingLindsay on March 7, 2012 at 1:48 pm

I would have to go with Bodyrock for my fave at home workout. They’re short, intense, and ALWAYS leave me feeling like I’m ready to die – in a good way! 🙂

  50. Liz on March 7, 2012 at 1:49 pm

i love the yoga dvd my dad got me for christmas two years ago!
