Don’t you love when something totally unexpected makes your day a little brighter?
(Gorgeous full moon last night! Now if only I knew how to make my camera photograph it like an actual moon instead of a dot, that’d be kinda cool)
Well, that’s what happened yesterday 🙂
First I was excited to see a package that didn’t have the Amazon smiley face on it –those tend to pop up over here pretty frequently- and then I saw “perishable food” and things got even more ridic.
A package of Chicago foodie goodies from our good friends Mara and Adam 🙂
Carol’s cookies, Garrett’s popcorn and a deep dish pizza. No words.
I couldn’t open the popcorn fast enough….
and put the pizza in the oven, just in time for the Pilot to get home from work.
Random acts of kindness are truly amazing, and whenever someone does something nice for me, it makes me want to share the positive energy with someone else… so I thought it would be a great day for a giveaway- it’s been a while since we’ve had one of those over here!
After reading the comments on yesterday’s YouTube fitness post, I remembered that many of you also enjoy working out at home, so I thought I’d share one of my favorite at-home workouts with a blog friend:
Winner’s choice: Insanity or Turbofire
You can read my reviews in the links above and decide whether you would prefer a drill-based high-impact workout, or a dance meets kickbox high-energy workout. It makes it even harder to choose because Shaun T. is fun and verryyyy nice to look at, and Chalene is a firecracker of motivation and energy.
All ya have to do:
-Leave a comment with your favorite at-home workout option
(If it’s your first time commenting, I’ll be approving those throughout the day, so no worries if it doesn’t show up right away)
This giveaway is sponsored by Livi and Bella- the winner will be chosen tonight at midnight EST and announced tomorrow am.
To sweeten the deal:
Hope you have an amazing humpday!
See ya later with a Family post.
xoxo

planks!! i love planks 🙂 im not normal.
I love doing stability ball workouts at home. I got one about three months ago and wouldn’t trade it for the world. I have managed yoga too at home, pretty easily. 🙂 Thanks to Bella and Livi for sponsoring. (although I think the treats might be better if you make them. 😉 )
I don’t know if this counts as a work out, but my new thing to do at home is hula hoop! I will go for 30 or so minutes and it definitely feels like a work out plus it’s a lot of fun.
I just recently bought an elliptical, so I have been using that frequently, but i also love Body by Bethany! I would love to win Insanity! Reading your posts about doing the work out made me want to try it! Also seems like a work out I could get my husband to do with me.
Thanks Livi and Bella for sponsoring!
I absolutley LOVE doing yoga videos at home. I enjoy the down time in the comforts of my own living room to downward dog as I please 🙂
PS – this is my first time commenting but I have been a reader for months now and just LOVE your blog 🙂
Favorite at-home workout…well, I have such good intentions of working out at home–I’ve bought dvds, weights, balls, etc.–BUT, it never really seems to happen. I guess I just love the feel of a live class. After reading about your love of turbofire and insanity though, I’ve been REALLY, REALLY wanting to try them, but couldn’t justify the price in light of the fact that I don’t use the ones that I have (even though they are totally different). I love dynamic workouts and its hard to find classes like Turbofire/Insanity outside of a gym or personal trainer (I don’t have either). I would LOVE, LOVE to win the Insanity or Turbofire dvds — I really think they would be just what I need to get into working out at home! 🙂
I definitely DO love to stretch and foam roll at home though! Foam rolling and also Yamuna ball rolling. Have you tried it? Sooo great…gets in all those little places that the big ol’ foam roller can’t. 🙂
Well that sure is nice of Bell and Liv to sponsor!
My fav at home workout is the 4 minute workout 🙂
I run on the treadmill, do the 30 day shred or a Zumba DVD!
Hi Gina! Such a great giveaway – I am equally excited about insanity and the roons!! 🙂
my favorite way to workout at home is to pop in a Physique 57 exercise video. My thighs are screaming just thinking about it!
I’m a treadmill person but I’m trying to get in shape for my wedding and am realizing that cardio alone isn’t going to cut it. Would love to test out a little Sean T action!!!!
And I’m always getting the stink eye/toy toss when planking hahaha.
I just stumbled across your site a few days ago & just wanted to thank you for the awesome cookie dough cereal recipe. I have been living off of it ever since! 🙂 I like to do the treadmill or zumba at home. Fingers crossed I get lucky and could win TurboFire. Ty for a wonderful site.
My fav is yoga at home! I’ve been wanting to try Insanity to shed the last of my baby weight.
Oooh I have been wanting to try insanity for a while now! Typically my at home workouts are a self designed bunch of random ploy moves, or if I have more time yoga. Insanity would be awesome to have especially once I am back at school and unable to afford a gym membership anymore!
My favorite at home workout is yoga!
I love P90X. Would love to try Insanity and get my husband to do it with me!
Oh YUM! Looks like you got the caramel and cheese mix..that stuff is so addicting!! My fav at home workout lately has been the Nike Training Club app on iPhone. They are such quick workouts but tough and I love how you can watch the videos on proper form and earn rewards! 🙂
my fav. workouts at home are tabatas! They are sweaty and go by fast! I have been wanting to try insanity FOREEEEVER, but just can’t justify forkin up the dough! 😉
I love breaking out my kettlebell and doing some crossfit drills!
I am a Bodyrock girl! I also love the new Zuzana workouts (she’s still my fave host).
P90X…loved this work out. I still do the yoga every week and love it.
My workout of choice is running…but I have also done a ton of DVD’s. I like the biggest loser workouts mostly because the videos are cheap and I get a decent workout, but I have wanted to try insanity for a really really long time!!
I have Insanity and also enjoy Yogavibes for exhale core fusion “live” classes for at home workouts. I would love to try Turbofire! Thanks for the giveaway!
I have been wanting to try both Insanity and TurboFire, but being a college student on a very tight budget, I can’t exactly afford either program. My favorite at home workouts are Taebo & Jillian Michael’s DVDs with the occasional yoga podcast or run on the treadmill.
Does cycling count? you start and end at home 🙂
I also love jillian micheals ripped in 30. Phew. that’s hard.
I love stretching at home. Foam rolling <3 If that doesn't count, then I'll go with tabata workouts at home! It's intense, but over so soon, which keeps me motivated to keep pushing. Another plus – body weight movements work great for tabata workouts!
My favorite workout at home is random cardio stuff – jumps, burpees, pushups, squats…stuff like that.
BODYROCK!!! 😀 Well I much preferred the old Bodyrock with Zuzana. That was definately my favourite home workouts. I did that for two years and saw so much improvment in my fitness, strength and body composition. I’m finding it hard to get into the new bodyrock and ZWOD.
My absolute favorite is to just throw on running shoes and head out the door but I also like Jillian Micheals DVDs when I can’t make it to the gym.
I already won those roons once, don’t think it would be fair if I did again (ie. you don’t have to count me in, but I love pilates @ home!) But are you DYING over Garrett’s Popcorn? Literally I would eat that entire tin. Cheese flavor + caramel + butter in one mouthful is the best.
my fav at home workout was jillian DVDs, but I got a little burnt out on them and need to find something new, so this would be perfect
I recently found that I love doing workout videos! I switch it up but I currently do (and love) Physique 57, Chalean Extreme, and Zumba!
My horse lives in my backyard – so my at-home workout is a nice long ride with her. It’s a great workout and cleanses my mind — not the most affordable option though!
This is fantastic! I did p90x a while back, but i really want to try insanity!
My favorite at home workout option is definitely yoga. I find all different styles on you tube.
I love the Jillian Michaels dvds!
jillian michaels tapes, or just random routines i find on blogs!
YOGA! After reading about free podcasts from yogadownload.com on your blog, I have yoga right at my fingertips!
I love the P90X Plyo workout if I want to get my sweat on, but Jillian’s No More Trouble Zones is a nice total body workout.
You are so generous!!! My favorite at home workout is Jillian Michaels 30 Day shred, brisk walking, and yoga! The combination of the three really works for me. It’s super convenient and easy to squeez in any time of the day! Jillian rocks! She is tough and sweet at the same time 🙂
I love the 30 Day Shred from Jillian. Such a great workout!
I love chalean’s dvds, and i’m doing chalean extreme right now. I have been wanting turbo fire for a while now.
Hmmm…my fav at home workout would have to be Insanity which is why i would lurve Turbo Fire and something new and different 🙂
I have a ton of workout DVDs that I love, and we also got a treadmill a few months ago. Now I really have no excuses! 🙂
Right now I’m really into Cathe Friedrich step/weight videos. I have been wanting to try both Insanity and TurboFire for awhile now!
I love Cassey from Pop Pilates! Her workouts are so fun and easy to do in limited space, such as a tiny college apartment like mine 😉
Right now it’s the treadmill. I’m training for my first marathon and it’s still too dark to run very early in the morning.
You are so sweet!! I love running on my college campus and doing yoga in the dorms.
I was just talking to people about Insanity today, and was remembering parts of your review! So weird.
My at home workout choice is a good circuit workout with kettle bells and jump rope!!
My workout of choice is running – treadmill, outside, whatever! My treadmill has the “ifit” option, so I can design courses and it simulates the real terrain outside! HOwever, after your post about youtube workouts, I tried a few and I am in LOVE with Zumba and the Pop pilates! Thank you so much!!
