Donโ€™t you love when something totally unexpected makes your day a little brighter?

moon

(Gorgeous full moon last night! Now if only I knew how to make my camera photograph it like an actual moon instead of a dot, thatโ€™d be kinda cool)

Well, thatโ€™s what happened yesterday ๐Ÿ™‚

package

First I was excited to see a package that didnโ€™t have the Amazon smiley face on it โ€“those tend to pop up over here pretty frequently- and then I saw โ€œperishable foodโ€ and things got even more ridic.

cookies5

A package of Chicago foodie goodies from our good friends Mara and Adam ๐Ÿ™‚

Carolโ€™s cookies, Garrettโ€™s popcorn and a deep dish pizza. No words.

I couldnโ€™t open the popcorn fast enoughโ€ฆ.

popcorn2

and put the pizza in the oven, just in time for the Pilot to get home from work.

Random acts of kindness are truly amazing, and whenever someone does something nice for me, it makes me want to share the positive energy with someone elseโ€ฆ so I thought it would be a great day for a giveaway- itโ€™s been a while since weโ€™ve had one of those over here!

After reading the comments on yesterdayโ€™s YouTube fitness post, I remembered that many of you also enjoy working out at home, so I thought Iโ€™d share one of my favorite at-home workouts with a blog friend:

image image

Winnerโ€™s choice: Insanity or Turbofire

You can read my reviews in the links above and decide whether you would prefer a drill-based high-impact workout, or a dance meets kickbox high-energy workout. It makes it even harder to choose because Shaun T. is fun and verryyyy nice to look at, and Chalene is a firecracker of motivation and energy.

All ya have to do:

-Leave a comment with your favorite at-home workout option

(If itโ€™s your first time commenting, Iโ€™ll be approving those throughout the day, so no worries if it doesnโ€™t show up right away)

This giveaway is sponsored by Livi and Bella- the winner will be chosen tonight at midnight EST and announced tomorrow am.

To sweeten the deal:

roons

Hope you have an amazing humpday!

See ya later with a Family post.

xoxo

My favorite at home work out is doing Turbo Jam which I have had for 5 years now!!! I think it is time for a new one for my rotation! ๐Ÿ™‚ I also appreciated your post yesterday, I have already checked out some of them!

  2. Ali on March 7, 2012 at 2:35 pm

My favorite at home workout has to be body rock! She’s so inspiring to watch and it kicks my rear end everytime! Otherwise, I live on a lake, so nothing beats the cool breeze of an outdoor running sesh. Looking forward to more of those as Oregon starts to show us more sunshine ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Ashleigh on March 7, 2012 at 2:37 pm

I love doing cardio circuits or tabata!

  4. natasha on March 7, 2012 at 2:37 pm

My favorite right now are Jillian Michaels dvds!

  5. Laura on March 7, 2012 at 2:39 pm

I love to do yoga at home…..it just calmer and relaxes me Soo much!

  6. Elissa on March 7, 2012 at 2:39 pm

I recently just tried Jillian Michaels 30 Day shred, and it’s definitely a work out! I’ve been wanting to try Insanity!! So excited!!

  7. Hilda on March 7, 2012 at 2:39 pm

    Wow…this is an amazing giveaway!

My favorite home workout (if it counts) revolves around doing the things people did before there was exercise for exercise’s sake – essentially manual labor with practical purposes: digging in the yard, chopping and storing firewood, lifting and moving heavy things, cleaning, and even kneading bread. I think these things really put gym strength-training to the test and also make you feel productive. ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. Kelly on March 7, 2012 at 2:41 pm

My favorite at-home work out is doing yoga videos! As a super-stressed college student they are perfect… and you can get a ton for free on different sites (which is always good!)

  9. Jill on March 7, 2012 at 2:41 pm

my favorite would have to be a giam prenatal yoga right now, with being pregnant there are limited prenatal yoga options shockingly ๐Ÿ™ – I have also found when I’m running low on energy, the dvd hits the spot & motivates me to take my juicer out !!

  10. Katrina on March 7, 2012 at 2:41 pm

I just started the New Rules of Lifting for Women at home and am really excited to be adding some weight lifting to my home workout routine!

  11. Wendy Heath on March 7, 2012 at 2:41 pm

Right now I’m loving running when it’s warmer outside, and a couple of at home yoga videos I have (I think one of them is Trudy Styler?). I can’t wait for it to be waaaarm warm!

  12. Taylor Hughes on March 7, 2012 at 2:41 pm

My favorite home workout is using kettlebells outside in the sun and then doing yoga on my mat in the glorious weather!

  13. Katherine on March 7, 2012 at 2:42 pm

You really did read my mind yesterday with those YouTube workouts. I started a new job and I work much later than I used to, so Jillian Michaels DVDs are my savior! I actually did Cassey’s booty workout when I got home last night and I am def feeling it today!

I think I would have to go with Turbo Fire if I won.

    Thank you for this giveaway!

  14. Lestraundra on March 7, 2012 at 2:43 pm

My favorite at-home workout is Yoga. I’ve been obsessed with yogadownload.com ever since reading about it on your blog ๐Ÿ™‚

  15. Sejal M on March 7, 2012 at 2:43 pm

    Wow! Amazing Gina!!
I like doing workout DVDs that have a group atmosphere. I’m at home with my second child right now and just never found a gym I liked with a good daycare. So, dvd’s (especially during the winter) are what works for me. ๐Ÿ™‚

  16. Nichole on March 7, 2012 at 2:44 pm

Hi Gina! My favorite at home work out is my Jackie Warner DVD. It is a 40 minute work out and it really gets my heart racing. I feel great after I do the work out!

  17. Morgan on March 7, 2012 at 2:46 pm

I use the Nike Training Club app for the iPhone. Its amazing!

  18. Lindsay @ LindsayInNYC on March 7, 2012 at 2:46 pm

I think my favorite at-home workout is simply pilates! I love it and the fact that you can do it anywhere is an added bonus!!

  19. Kristen on March 7, 2012 at 2:46 pm

My workout of choice at home is either a Jillian Michaels DVD or I like to do plyometric tabata intervals on my own!

  20. Katie on March 7, 2012 at 2:46 pm

Just started p90x–LOVE it! So I’d be ecstatic to try insanity, too.

  21. Deanna on March 7, 2012 at 2:46 pm

I usually do the 30 Day Shred, but only because Jillian kind of scares me so its pretty effective. I guess years of watching her on Biggest Loser have me conditioned.

  22. Julie S on March 7, 2012 at 2:47 pm

I have an OLD Jazzercise routine I do at home or an even older Buns of Steel! I’ve tried Jillian’s 30-day Shred DVD. I definitely need something new!

  23. Lisa on March 7, 2012 at 2:47 pm

My favorite at home workout option is Zumba on the Wii! I do it all the time and love being able to just throw it on and dance around my living room. I’ve been seriously contemplating investing in one of these workouts you’re giving away and would absolutely love to give one a try!

  24. Danielle on March 7, 2012 at 2:48 pm

I like yoga podcasts – so many to choose from! I would love to try Turbo Fire, seems like a fun way of getting fit!

  25. Megan Infantino on March 7, 2012 at 2:49 pm

My favorite at-home workout option is RUNNING and CYCLING! Both are very addicting for me. If I had to stay in the home (say due to the weather), I would choose P90X. Awesome strength and cardio workout!!

I would love to win Insanity!! I’ve been wanting to try that for ages. I just have to wait until my baby is due in September ๐Ÿ™‚

    -Megan –

  26. Kristen on March 7, 2012 at 2:49 pm

I’ve been doing an “online” bootcamp with Tina Reale! Also love Bob Harper’s videos and P90X! ๐Ÿ™‚
    Thanks for the AMAZING giveaway!

  27. Irene on March 7, 2012 at 2:49 pm

I’ve been doing yoga at home – everything else at the gym. But I would LOVE to try one of these bad boys! Great giveaway Gina!

  28. Mona on March 7, 2012 at 2:50 pm

i just started doing DVDs at home to help me lose all this extra weight (I have postponed my wedding since I just can’t seem to lose it this time…) so I would LOVE to try on of the systems you like ๐Ÿ™‚

  29. Michelle on March 7, 2012 at 2:50 pm

Great giveaway! My favorite at-home workout is simply running up & down the stairs to get a quick blast of cardio. I would love to try the Turbofire DVDs. Before I moved, my favorite class was Turbokick. Unfortunately I haven’t found a gym that I like that offers it in my new city.

  30. Rissa on March 7, 2012 at 2:51 pm

My favorite at-home workout is Jillian Michael’s 30 Day Shred…the workouts are super fast-paced and I like being able to move up a level when I want to challenge myself.

  31. Chelsea on March 7, 2012 at 2:52 pm

I’m loving POP pilates and P90X!

  32. Ashley on March 7, 2012 at 2:53 pm

I do Ab Ripper X from P90X every other morning on the days that I have early classes to help wake me up because I can’t go on a run! ๐Ÿ™‚ I have heard so much about insanity though from my hall mates and would be in seventh heaven if I could try it! Anything new to spice up my workouts would be SO nice because a Golds Pass is out of my leauge ๐Ÿ™ Boo. So I love all your home work out suggestions!

  33. Kelster on March 7, 2012 at 2:53 pm

I like to do Pilates at home. I have a few 10 minute videos that get some quick exercise in when I don’t have time to do a lot more.

  34. Dina on March 7, 2012 at 2:54 pm

My favorite at home workout right now is Jackie Warner Power Circuit Training. I have had this DVD for awhile and never get sick of it.

  35. britt on March 7, 2012 at 2:56 pm

my favorite workout is running but i HATE it with the jogging stroller so if i have to bring my little guy along i power walk. if i just want to stay inside and do a little toning, i use my 25 lb son as my weight and do squats, lunges, etc. i try to do planks and pushups but he loves to sit on my back and make them MUCH more challenging ๐Ÿ˜‰

  36. Lisa on March 7, 2012 at 2:56 pm

My daughters and I do Pilates together at home.

  37. Marni on March 7, 2012 at 2:56 pm

I used to love the Billy Blanks Tae Bo stuff and I’m interested in starting BodyRock…I usually (okay, sometimes) just go for a run outside, though.

  38. Izzie on March 7, 2012 at 2:56 pm

Kitchen-floor yoga is my favorite at-home workout! (mostly because my stuff didn’t agree with kitchen soccer :P)

  39. Amie on March 7, 2012 at 2:58 pm

My favorite workouts to do at home are squats, various lunges, and wall sits. I haven’t tried any DVDs yet!

  40. Meg on March 7, 2012 at 2:58 pm

I’ve been lusting after turbofire for so long! But it’s pretty pricey on a grad student budget…

My home workouts are mostly HIIT workouts that I plan myself. I live in a 180 sq ft apartment (yes, that’s right, I didn’t leave off a zero), so it’s challenging to find enough space. My favorite exercise is burpees, but I’m pretty sure I drive my downstairs neighbors nuts. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  41. Ashley on March 7, 2012 at 2:59 pm

Also, my prayers are with Brenna and her loving family. May God continue to bless that sweet little miracle.

  42. Leah on March 7, 2012 at 2:59 pm

I love love love body rock right now!
    Kicks my butt every time.

  43. sarah on March 7, 2012 at 3:00 pm

my go-to at home workout is a yoga download or dvd. unfortunately, my dogs think that they need to be on the mat the entire time doing the poses with me…

  44. Nicole M. on March 7, 2012 at 3:00 pm

I usually avoid at home workouts because I feel like my options are limited, seeing as many DVDs are pricey (queue the “boo hoo poor college student!” ๐Ÿ˜‰ ). But I do love BodyRock and MyYogaOnline can be very beneficial! I love the ability to be “lazy” at home, but still active. Feels so good! Busting out the yoga mat for some stretching is always so nice too!

  45. Caitlin on March 7, 2012 at 3:01 pm

Wow gina awesome!!!! I love short, quick, SWEATY work outs!!!! Which you can do in the convience of my lil apartment ๐Ÿ™‚ hehe

  46. Jessica on March 7, 2012 at 3:01 pm

Love to do the ToneItUp videos on their YouTube channel…may do some tonight!

  47. Sarah on March 7, 2012 at 3:02 pm

My favorite way to workout at home is either pop in a workout dvd or do some exercises with dumbbells! Have really been wanting to try turbofire though!

  48. Lacey on March 7, 2012 at 3:03 pm

I love the Tone It Up girls! I just recently discovered their video workouts & look forward to them every week. I’d love to try something new! ๐Ÿ™‚

  49. Elisa on March 7, 2012 at 3:03 pm

I love, love going for a balls-out run round my neighborhood. Especially a hill workout if I’ve had a rough day. If it’s raining though, count me OUT. In that case, Jillian Michaels’ 30 Day Shred Level 2 or 3 is great.

  50. Becky on March 7, 2012 at 3:03 pm

I love doing weights at home! I find I don’t feel so uncoordinated if others aren’t there to see me ๐Ÿ˜‰
