Donโ€™t you love when something totally unexpected makes your day a little brighter?

moon

(Gorgeous full moon last night! Now if only I knew how to make my camera photograph it like an actual moon instead of a dot, thatโ€™d be kinda cool)

Well, thatโ€™s what happened yesterday ๐Ÿ™‚

package

First I was excited to see a package that didnโ€™t have the Amazon smiley face on it โ€“those tend to pop up over here pretty frequently- and then I saw โ€œperishable foodโ€ and things got even more ridic.

cookies5

A package of Chicago foodie goodies from our good friends Mara and Adam ๐Ÿ™‚

Carolโ€™s cookies, Garrettโ€™s popcorn and a deep dish pizza. No words.

I couldnโ€™t open the popcorn fast enoughโ€ฆ.

and put the pizza in the oven, just in time for the Pilot to get home from work.

Random acts of kindness are truly amazing, and whenever someone does something nice for me, it makes me want to share the positive energy with someone elseโ€ฆ so I thought it would be a great day for a giveaway- itโ€™s been a while since weโ€™ve had one of those over here!

After reading the comments on yesterdayโ€™s YouTube fitness post, I remembered that many of you also enjoy working out at home, so I thought Iโ€™d share one of my favorite at-home workouts with a blog friend:

image image

Winnerโ€™s choice: Insanity or Turbofire

You can read my reviews in the links above and decide whether you would prefer a drill-based high-impact workout, or a dance meets kickbox high-energy workout. It makes it even harder to choose because Shaun T. is fun and verryyyy nice to look at, and Chalene is a firecracker of motivation and energy.

All ya have to do:

-Leave a comment with your favorite at-home workout option

(If itโ€™s your first time commenting, Iโ€™ll be approving those throughout the day, so no worries if it doesnโ€™t show up right away)

This giveaway is sponsored by Livi and Bella- the winner will be chosen tonight at midnight EST and announced tomorrow am.

To sweeten the deal:

roons

Hope you have an amazing humpday!

See ya later with a Family post.

xoxo

  7. Blake @ Blake Bakes on March 7, 2012 at 4:51 pm

My favorite at-home workout is just running around my neighborhood. I know it’s not technically in my home, but it’s hard not to get outside and enjoy Florida’s weather. ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. Angela T on March 7, 2012 at 4:51 pm

My favorite at home workout is Turbo Fire. I purchased it last May and loved it! Chalene kept me motivated and I loved the music she used.. I have been thinking about purchasing Insanity, but thought maybe I should just do Turbo Fire again instead of spending the money, but now I think I may need to give it a try. Hopefully my body can handle it! I don’t want to get any injuries!!

  9. Ky G on March 7, 2012 at 4:51 pm

I don’t know if it counts as an official workout but I love doing my Wii Just Dance games to get my heart pumping at home.

*drooling over just the mention of Garretts and missing home*

  10. Erin Flynn on March 7, 2012 at 4:53 pm

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Jillian Michaels…but normally I just like to make my own off of youtube or googling crossfit ideas. ๐Ÿ™‚ Anything with sprints and I’m happy.

Aaaah, that is such a generous giveaway, Gina! I would love TurboFire or Insanity bc I doubt I’ll be able to afford it myself…

I’m a gym rat but on the days I can’t make it, my choice of home workouts are either your workouts – I’ve got some printed out so I usually roll with arms and abs ๐Ÿ˜€ – or Cassy’s POP Pilates videos! Y’all both make me feel the burn! ๐Ÿ™‚

  14. Megan on March 7, 2012 at 4:55 pm

I’m usually just a lurker here on your blog, but the giveaway was just too good to pass up! I absolutely love Jillian Michaels’ 30 Day Shred. It always gets my heart pumping and makes me happy. I recently took up running and that’s always nice to just go outside for a quick 30 minute jog!

Love seeing your sweet baby and your darling family!

  15. Daniella on March 7, 2012 at 4:55 pm

Zumba fitness on the xbox kinect is my favorite way to work out at home.

  16. Lauren on March 7, 2012 at 4:55 pm

At home I usually strength train, or use my Wii Fit. Also, the Wii Just Dance games. By the end I’m totally dripping and could dance for hours!

  17. Angela on March 7, 2012 at 4:56 pm

I don’t have a gym membership so my treadmill, some dumbbells, and lots of work out DVD’s keep me in shape! Plus there’s no excuse not to work out when your house is the gym!

  18. tkpkbrownie on March 7, 2012 at 4:56 pm

Lately it’s been yoga and pilates videos. But I do use Jillian videos as well. I’ve heard great things about turbofire. BTW that Garrettโ€™s popcorn looks so tasty. Makes me want to book a ticket for the taste of Chicago.

AAAAAAND I have to tell you that since yesterday I’m hooked on blogilates and I’ve already started today with the POP pilates for beginners and.. I LOVE IT!!!

  30. Julya on March 7, 2012 at 5:03 pm

I do love a good run around my neighborhood and cannot wait for the arrival of my little girl in July to start running with the jogging stroller. Physically in-home, I enjoy You Tube yoga sessions (right now prenatal) and lately the Zumba for Wii that I got for Christmas (addictive!).
It was so nice of your friends to send a care package, the popcorn and pizza look delicious!

  31. Allyson on March 7, 2012 at 5:04 pm

Ohh, awesome giveaway! My favorite at home workout is the treadmill. It faces a blank wall, but is still better than running outside in hot humid Texas in the summer!

  32. Peggy on March 7, 2012 at 5:05 pm

I LOVE P90x, but as a new mom who just went back to work full-time, I generally don’t have an hour plus to work out – but since I NEED to do something, I’ve been using the 10 Minute Trainer series. I’d love to try Turbofire!

  33. Jessica on March 7, 2012 at 5:05 pm

I love yogavibes! Especially their CoreFusion workouts. Awesome.

  34. Keaghan on March 7, 2012 at 5:05 pm

Jillian Michaels workouts are the best! I also just started getting into BodyRock!

  35. Angi on March 7, 2012 at 5:11 pm

Jillian is my go to girl for at home workouts. I feel like while they are challenging, they are still doable for the average/plus size person.
I have been a fan of Chalene for her CarSmart series, so I would love to try Turbofire and see if she is just as awesome in a different setting.

  36. Tracy @ Commit to Fit on March 7, 2012 at 5:11 pm

I absolutely LOVE the TurboKick dvds and have been using the same old one for years on the days I can’t make it to the gym or want to fit in an early morning workout. Chelene and her cheesetastic put me in the BEST mood! I’d love to have the TurboFire dvds in my life. Oh…and the baked goods wouldn’t hurt either ๐Ÿ˜‰

  41. Erin W. on March 7, 2012 at 5:16 pm

Wow, Gina…what a generous giveaway! I’m smiling just thinking about whoever wins it!

My favorite at home workouts are TRX circuits in my basement. Lots of fun!

  42. Casey on March 7, 2012 at 5:17 pm

My favorite at home workout is foam rolling, lol! I am always in such pain when I do it (guess I should do it more, huh?), that I am too embarrassed to do it at the gym. I love spending a solid chuck on time hitting my whole body while trying to focus on the TV and not on what my calves are screaming at me!

  43. gina on March 7, 2012 at 5:17 pm

i print free blank calenders and fill in my workouts with various dumbell, plyometric, treadmill, and stretching routines from my favorite blogs, youtube, and bodybuilding.com. i’ll throw in an insanity dvd every now and then if i want to push it ๐Ÿ™‚

  44. Lily on March 7, 2012 at 5:18 pm
