Donโ€™t you love when something totally unexpected makes your day a little brighter?

moon

(Gorgeous full moon last night! Now if only I knew how to make my camera photograph it like an actual moon instead of a dot, thatโ€™d be kinda cool)

Well, thatโ€™s what happened yesterday ๐Ÿ™‚

package

First I was excited to see a package that didnโ€™t have the Amazon smiley face on it โ€“those tend to pop up over here pretty frequently- and then I saw โ€œperishable foodโ€ and things got even more ridic.

cookies5

A package of Chicago foodie goodies from our good friends Mara and Adam ๐Ÿ™‚

Carolโ€™s cookies, Garrettโ€™s popcorn and a deep dish pizza. No words.

I couldnโ€™t open the popcorn fast enoughโ€ฆ.

and put the pizza in the oven, just in time for the Pilot to get home from work.

Random acts of kindness are truly amazing, and whenever someone does something nice for me, it makes me want to share the positive energy with someone elseโ€ฆ so I thought it would be a great day for a giveaway- itโ€™s been a while since weโ€™ve had one of those over here!

After reading the comments on yesterdayโ€™s YouTube fitness post, I remembered that many of you also enjoy working out at home, so I thought Iโ€™d share one of my favorite at-home workouts with a blog friend:

image image

Winnerโ€™s choice: Insanity or Turbofire

You can read my reviews in the links above and decide whether you would prefer a drill-based high-impact workout, or a dance meets kickbox high-energy workout. It makes it even harder to choose because Shaun T. is fun and verryyyy nice to look at, and Chalene is a firecracker of motivation and energy.

All ya have to do:

-Leave a comment with your favorite at-home workout option

(If itโ€™s your first time commenting, Iโ€™ll be approving those throughout the day, so no worries if it doesnโ€™t show up right away)

This giveaway is sponsored by Livi and Bella- the winner will be chosen tonight at midnight EST and announced tomorrow am.

To sweeten the deal:

roons

Hope you have an amazing humpday!

See ya later with a Family post.

xoxo

  2. Morgan Knecht on March 7, 2012 at 5:22 pm

I would love, love, LOVE to try Turbo Fire. I have been going back and forth about buying it, and just haven’t bit the bullet yet. I had our third child recently, he is almost 6 mos (finally was blessed with a baby boy), and I am trying to get back into the workout routine, but I am realizing that after 3, nothing really wants to “bounce” back into shape!! Congratulations, she is a doll!!

  3. Christina on March 7, 2012 at 5:23 pm

Can I get a woot woot!! I’m all about at-home ab workouts. I don’t know why but I feel more comfortable doing them at home than at the gym ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Rachel on March 7, 2012 at 5:23 pm

My favorite at home workout is turbo fire followed by ab ripper x from P90x. Great combination of cardio and strength. I feel great afterwards!! Turbo fire makes me want to come back for more.

  5. Necia on March 7, 2012 at 5:23 pm

What a FANTASTIC giveaway! I was just oogling Turbo Fire the other day, but I’m still on the fence. My favorite at home workout these days is swinging my kettlebell. It’s something about the wham bam thank you factor that has kept me motivated to even workout at home.

  6. Nicole on March 7, 2012 at 5:24 pm

I’ve recently been doing the tone it up videos on You Tube, I love that there is a lot of variety to keep me entertained!

  7. Morgan Knecht on March 7, 2012 at 5:26 pm

oh and completely forgot, favorite at-home workout is: running outdoors, Jillian videos, and all the other Beach Body workouts. My fav’s slim in 6 and Power 90 (the original, haven’t tried p90x)

  8. Janell Lewis on March 7, 2012 at 5:26 pm

I am new to this blog and love love love it so far. THanks for all the amazing tips! My favorite at home workout is a mix of circuit training moves I get from your website and peanut butter fingers blog (which I am also new to) I like to mix those with running up and down my stairs (while looking like an idiot) for 15-20 minutes after a jog outside. Thanks again!

  9. Casey on March 7, 2012 at 5:26 pm

I love doing a quick and killer TRX workout using either the video that came with the TRX or finding a new one to try on YouTube. Thanks for the giveaway, Livi and Bella, you two are so darn cute!! ๐Ÿ™‚

  10. Kate Harts on March 7, 2012 at 5:27 pm

    I love Jillian videos!

  11. Amy on March 7, 2012 at 5:28 pm

Hi! Long-time reader, first-time commenter! Lately my at-home workouts have mostly been cardio/weight circuits that I put together using dumbbells, the pull-up bar, and some bodyweight exercises. Good stuff! I used to do Hip-Hop Abs and I love Shaun T.!!

  12. VegMommy on March 7, 2012 at 5:28 pm

My favorite “at home” workout is more “in the neighborhood”. I take my daughter out in her stroller for a walk/jog, then we stop by the playground, and while she does her crazy running around thing, I use the steps to do lunges, dips, and whatever not-so-embarassing-if-someone-walks-up-and-sees-me exercise I can think of. ๐Ÿ™‚

  13. Lindsay L. on March 7, 2012 at 5:29 pm

I do p90x and a home elliptical. Would love to try a new one!

  14. lizzy on March 7, 2012 at 5:29 pm

my favorite at home work out is doing yoga dvds or running on my home treadmill!

  15. Connie Harney on March 7, 2012 at 5:29 pm

I would like to put my name in the hat to win the Turbofire dvd. Give Liv a kiss.

  16. Jill on March 7, 2012 at 5:29 pm

I love bodyrocking, or doing Zuzana’s new workouts – quick but INTENSE!

  17. Michelle @ A Healthy Mrs on March 7, 2012 at 5:30 pm

    I love the BodyRock videos!

  18. Nina on March 7, 2012 at 5:30 pm

I LOVE P90X for my home-workout option…I just began another round ๐Ÿ™‚ But I also love your workouts too, and ones from Cassey at POPilates!

  19. Maria@La_Piattini on March 7, 2012 at 5:30 pm

I love doing yoga videos at home!

  20. Jen Villa on March 7, 2012 at 5:31 pm

Iโ€™m an at home/at the gym/class junkie! At home, I take full advantage of AM and PM yoga with Rodney Yee (especially the AM one, it puts me in the perfect mood for the day), at least 4 days usually 6 days a week. 2 days a week I do the Jillian Michaels, No More Trouble Zones and Killer Buns and Thighs (I switch it up, depending on soreness). I also will do 2-3 days of strength training with free weights (like, weighted walking lunges & weighted squats), killer upper body routines (I hit, bis, tris and shoulders). Iโ€™m also a sucker for ab routines that Iโ€™ll throw in on my weight training days and those include many different plank variations and pilates inspired ab moves. Iโ€™m big I changing things up, because I get board easily. Recently my biggest change is, pregnancy! At home work outs are nice now, because I can sweat it out, shower and hit the couch pretty much instantly (obviously I have switched up my routine a bit because of baby but he likes when I move!).

Thanks for all your awesome posts! You help keep me motivated, and hungry. lol

  21. Jane on March 7, 2012 at 5:31 pm

I love the 30 Day Shred with Jillian Michaels. It’s short enough to fit into my schedule, but always leaves me sweaty and sore!

  22. lara on March 7, 2012 at 5:32 pm

Crossing my fingers! I been doing BodyRock workouts but I’d love to try something that I can follow along ๐Ÿ™‚

  23. Annie on March 7, 2012 at 5:32 pm

    I’m a big Jillian Michaels fan. ๐Ÿ™‚

  24. Mary DeSantis on March 7, 2012 at 5:32 pm

I like doing some circuit work outs at home, and you tubing fun zumba videos!

  25. Nicole @ Making Good Choices on March 7, 2012 at 5:33 pm

I would love to try Insanity. Currently I love Bob Harper’s dvds and some other youtubers for a great at home workout!

  26. Meredith on March 7, 2012 at 5:33 pm

I LOVE at home work outs and know once our baby arrives, they will be my savior for a while. My long time favorites are barre videos– physique 57 (volume 2 is best, also love the express and thigh/seat booster) And pure barre videos. I actually got a free standing barre for Xmas so I can do them better at home!

    Love it!

  27. Kristi on March 7, 2012 at 5:36 pm

Awesome giveaway! I don’t love working out at home but would love to try turbofire. I do like doing yoga videos especially if they have new or challenging poses so I can try at home first!

  28. Leah on March 7, 2012 at 5:37 pm

My husband and I would love to win the Insanity. We want to try it but have have hesitated pulling the trigger because we have done at home workouts like P90X with not much success. We found some of the work outs are too long and my husband loses interest fast. We need something to jump start our fitness goals and keep us motivated while we get fit together…

  29. Alison on March 7, 2012 at 5:37 pm

That is such a sweet gesture from your friends! ๐Ÿ™‚

My favourite at-home work out is inappropriate to list here. Just kidding…. kind of. Since I currently live in an apartment, I like to do a few laps in the swimming pool (something I was forced to explore after my stress fracture), or doing some yoga / pilates moves in my apartment.

  30. Emma on March 7, 2012 at 5:39 pm

OMG What a nice package! Pizza and Popcorn are my favorite foods that begin with P ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m dying to try Turbofire, I love BodyCombat and I heard that it’s similar but super crazy intensity. Thanks for the giveaway Livi & Bella.

  31. Lulu on March 7, 2012 at 5:40 pm

I do Jillian Michaels DVDs, but I would love to own Turbofire!

  34. Chantelle on March 7, 2012 at 5:43 pm

I love doing yoga at home at night to relax after the stress of the day!! I just got the Jivamukti yoga dvd and am OBSESSED with it ๐Ÿ™‚

I have to say though, my body could probably use a nice shock of TurboFire or Insanity!!

  35. Olga on March 7, 2012 at 5:46 pm

My favorite at home work out is yoga. It fills the entire house with calmness.

  36. Andra on March 7, 2012 at 5:47 pm

My favorite at-home workout is a crazy mix of pilates, some of Shaun T’s ab moves and many other random exercises that I totally forgot where I’ve seen them for the first time. But it’s fun & effective! ๐Ÿ™‚

  37. Libby on March 7, 2012 at 5:47 pm

I’m addicted to my treadmill-i love playing with the elevation and speed during intervals to make the time fly by. Jillian is also a favorite. Really, anything that makes me sweat!

  38. barb on March 7, 2012 at 5:48 pm

I don’t really have a favorite home workout routine yet because I just recently finished the basement so now I actually have a spot to workout.

  39. Maggie on March 7, 2012 at 5:48 pm

I havent found a workout video i am in love with yet, so my favorite at home workout is definitely some type of circuit workout that doesn’t require anything more than dumbells or anything you can find at home

  40. Joanne on March 7, 2012 at 5:48 pm

I tape Pilates From te Inside Out all the time and love following along to some Pilates! If I can’t make it to the gym the next best thing for me is Nike Training Club in my living room ๐Ÿ™‚
I have been lusting after Insanity ever since you reviewed it!!

  41. megan on March 7, 2012 at 5:49 pm

I love to run outside…treadmills make me cray-cray! I would loooove to have the TurboFire DVDs!! Such a great giveaway…thanks!

  42. Kaitlynn on March 7, 2012 at 5:49 pm

How nice of Livi and Bella! ๐Ÿ˜‰ My favorite at home workout is probably Jillian’s 30-Day Shred. I have finally gotten to Level 3 and it is no joke!

  43. Nicole F. on March 7, 2012 at 5:51 pm

Oh my goodness, hands down, one of the best giveaways ever! I have been wanting to try TurboFire for so long! Currently, I’m loving the new Body Rock channel, esp because you can take the workouts and make them your own by tripling the circuit for a longer workout or adding them before/after cardio. And they’re free : )

  44. emilyb on March 7, 2012 at 5:51 pm

pre-kids, i was all about the gym. i loved spinning and did a class almost every day. right now, i do michelle dozois videos. they are so hard! i’m doing her peak10 series. i like her b/c she’s upbeat, nice, and crazy! i have jillian m. videos and bob harper, too. they’re okay. i’ve done p90x. i really wanted to do cardio insanity, but my husband would kill me if i spent that much on videos. my cousin was supposed to let me borrow her’s but she flaked on me. i’ve heard great things about turbofire, too. i like to work out at home b/c i have 3 little kids, and they just run around while mama exercises. i have to stop sometimes to change a diaper or break up a fight, but it’s okay. the funniest is when my 3yr old tries to exercise w/ me. he’s pretty coordinated, but it still cracks me up.

  45. Alisha on March 7, 2012 at 5:51 pm

I like all of Jillian’s DVDs. I would love to try Insanity.

  46. Meghan on March 7, 2012 at 5:52 pm

I own almost all of Jillian’s dvd’s. Obsessed.

  47. Heather on March 7, 2012 at 5:52 pm

I love the option of P90X at home!!!! But I also love hip-hop abs!!!

  48. Sierra on March 7, 2012 at 5:55 pm

I have been wanting to try these DVD’s, but the price is steep. Great giveaway.

My favorite at home workout is a quick circuit of pushups, squats, jumping jacks, and half-burpees. It’s amazing how you can get your heart rate up with such simple fitness moves.

  49. Emily c. on March 7, 2012 at 5:56 pm

I really like Jillian michaels DVDs! Awesome giveaway!
