Donโ€™t you love when something totally unexpected makes your day a little brighter?

moon

(Gorgeous full moon last night! Now if only I knew how to make my camera photograph it like an actual moon instead of a dot, thatโ€™d be kinda cool)

Well, thatโ€™s what happened yesterday ๐Ÿ™‚

package

First I was excited to see a package that didnโ€™t have the Amazon smiley face on it โ€“those tend to pop up over here pretty frequently- and then I saw โ€œperishable foodโ€ and things got even more ridic.

cookies5

A package of Chicago foodie goodies from our good friends Mara and Adam ๐Ÿ™‚

Carolโ€™s cookies, Garrettโ€™s popcorn and a deep dish pizza. No words.

I couldnโ€™t open the popcorn fast enoughโ€ฆ.

and put the pizza in the oven, just in time for the Pilot to get home from work.

Random acts of kindness are truly amazing, and whenever someone does something nice for me, it makes me want to share the positive energy with someone elseโ€ฆ so I thought it would be a great day for a giveaway- itโ€™s been a while since weโ€™ve had one of those over here!

After reading the comments on yesterdayโ€™s YouTube fitness post, I remembered that many of you also enjoy working out at home, so I thought Iโ€™d share one of my favorite at-home workouts with a blog friend:

image image

Winnerโ€™s choice: Insanity or Turbofire

You can read my reviews in the links above and decide whether you would prefer a drill-based high-impact workout, or a dance meets kickbox high-energy workout. It makes it even harder to choose because Shaun T. is fun and verryyyy nice to look at, and Chalene is a firecracker of motivation and energy.

All ya have to do:

-Leave a comment with your favorite at-home workout option

(If itโ€™s your first time commenting, Iโ€™ll be approving those throughout the day, so no worries if it doesnโ€™t show up right away)

This giveaway is sponsored by Livi and Bella- the winner will be chosen tonight at midnight EST and announced tomorrow am.

To sweeten the deal:

roons

Hope you have an amazing humpday!

See ya later with a Family post.

xoxo

My favorite at home workout is going for a run outside or a vinyasa yoga dvd with Baron Baptiste or Brian Kest. I would love to try Turbo Fire to switch things up a bit. And I’m dying to try your macaroons!

  2. Amber on March 7, 2012 at 6:41 pm

I like taking my dogs on walks and then doing a circuit workout in our garage. I also enjoy doing pilates at home.

  6. Kristie on March 7, 2012 at 6:43 pm

  7. Katie on March 7, 2012 at 6:43 pm

My favorite at home workout option is the ON DEMAND fitness station. I love it because they have a little bit of everything so you can choose a workout for whatever you are in the mood for!

I’m a sucker for some p90x Yoga X. You can never do too many sun salutations, or get enough Tony Horton for that matter.

  11. Leah on March 7, 2012 at 6:48 pm

I love working out at home because it is cheaper and fits nicely into my schedule! I love Chris Freytag and Jillian Michaels workouts for weight training and I actually recently bought TurboFire which I love as well!

  12. kathy on March 7, 2012 at 6:49 pm

I’m not the greatest at home workouts….. if it’s not the gym I usually try to walk or run at a nearby park. These videos would really help out!

  13. JenSanders52 on March 7, 2012 at 6:49 pm

I like to browse the Fitness TV videos On-Demand. Often I’ll tell myself “just do this one short video,” but I usually end up doing a couple because I get so pumped… especially if it’s dancing since no one but my dogs can see my goofy grooves!

  14. shelby on March 7, 2012 at 6:50 pm

  18. Colette on March 7, 2012 at 6:57 pm

Best. Giveaway. Ever. Seriously!! I love Chalene, so TurboJam is definitely a favorite, but lately I’ve been on a 30 Day Shred kick. I’ve been considering taking the plunge to purchase Insanity or TurboFire (or ChaLEAN Extreme), so this is perfect timing!

  19. Amanda on March 7, 2012 at 6:58 pm

Is it weird this giveaway gave me goosebumps? I’m kind of torn between which one I might want, but I think my body needs something like Insanity. I’ve been dying to give it a shot. Lately, I’ve been putting together different challenges for myself like seeing how long it takes to do 100 Burpees and Tabata workouts. I NEED go get into good wedding shape!!

  20. Hilary on March 7, 2012 at 7:00 pm

    Hi Gina!

I love to pull up a YouTube yoga or Pilates videos on my laptop, and set it up on my bed with my mat alongside. It’s a perfect workout for when you’re feeling lethargic and need some quick energy, but don’t want to get dressed and leave the house to go to the gym. I always finish feeling super energized and ready to tackle the rest of my day!

    Thanks for the giveaway!
    Hilary

  22. Susan D on March 7, 2012 at 7:01 pm

I usually don’t have time to go to a gym (the short transportation really is time I don’t have as a grad student and teaching assistant), so my favorite ways to workout at home are yoga, workout DVDs, and walking (when I can, despite osteoarthritis and plantar fasciitis).

  23. Chelsea Wisotzkey on March 7, 2012 at 7:01 pm

I really love Jillian Michael’s 30 Day Shred. Even though they’re only 20 minutes long, they are super intense and always leaves me covered in sweat. Which is a very good thing:-)

  33. Jenny on March 7, 2012 at 7:08 pm

I love running on my treadmill (with 2 kids and one on the way, a hus who works nights, and a full time job, not much time to be outside). I also really enjoy a Self fitness DVD with Gunner Peterson that combines weights–the DVD is over 2 years old though so an upgrade would be awsome!!
