Donโ€™t you love when something totally unexpected makes your day a little brighter?

moon

(Gorgeous full moon last night! Now if only I knew how to make my camera photograph it like an actual moon instead of a dot, thatโ€™d be kinda cool)

Well, thatโ€™s what happened yesterday ๐Ÿ™‚

package

First I was excited to see a package that didnโ€™t have the Amazon smiley face on it โ€“those tend to pop up over here pretty frequently- and then I saw โ€œperishable foodโ€ and things got even more ridic.

cookies5

A package of Chicago foodie goodies from our good friends Mara and Adam ๐Ÿ™‚

Carolโ€™s cookies, Garrettโ€™s popcorn and a deep dish pizza. No words.

I couldnโ€™t open the popcorn fast enoughโ€ฆ.

popcorn2

and put the pizza in the oven, just in time for the Pilot to get home from work.

Random acts of kindness are truly amazing, and whenever someone does something nice for me, it makes me want to share the positive energy with someone elseโ€ฆ so I thought it would be a great day for a giveaway- itโ€™s been a while since weโ€™ve had one of those over here!

After reading the comments on yesterdayโ€™s YouTube fitness post, I remembered that many of you also enjoy working out at home, so I thought Iโ€™d share one of my favorite at-home workouts with a blog friend:

image image

Winnerโ€™s choice: Insanity or Turbofire

You can read my reviews in the links above and decide whether you would prefer a drill-based high-impact workout, or a dance meets kickbox high-energy workout. It makes it even harder to choose because Shaun T. is fun and verryyyy nice to look at, and Chalene is a firecracker of motivation and energy.

All ya have to do:

-Leave a comment with your favorite at-home workout option

(If itโ€™s your first time commenting, Iโ€™ll be approving those throughout the day, so no worries if it doesnโ€™t show up right away)

This giveaway is sponsored by Livi and Bella- the winner will be chosen tonight at midnight EST and announced tomorrow am.

To sweeten the deal:

roons

Hope you have an amazing humpday!

See ya later with a Family post.

xoxo

  13. Kara D on March 7, 2012 at 7:36 pm

My first comment…ever! I’ve fallen in love with your blog…so much good info on food and exercise and even that occasional fashion update (and i work at Ann Taylor so I love that you included our stripes in your last fashion post – hehe)! Anyway, I don’t work out at home very often but when I do I enjoy YOGAmazing! It’s a free podcast from iTunes – it’s pretty good! I also will occasionally borrow the abs class of p90x from my neighbor ๐Ÿ˜› Thanks for having such a great blog with great info! Consider yourself book-marked ๐Ÿ™‚

  31. Tammy on March 7, 2012 at 7:45 pm

My favorite at home workouts would have to be yoga and Zumba. I’m new to Zumba and look like a complete dork, I’m sure, but at least it’s at home where the only ones who see me are my daughter (who Zumba’s with me) and my dogs. I’m also a Chalene fan, so anything Turbo is good, although I’ve only tried Turbo Jam so far.

    Beautiful baby! Congratulations!

  32. Kels on March 7, 2012 at 7:45 pm

If I’m working out at home, I love to do P57 videos or Jari Love weights videos. I also love insanity, and id really love to try turbo fire!

  34. Stephanie on March 7, 2012 at 7:46 pm

I like getting my namaste yoga on at home, because I always feel self conscious doing yoga in public. I would LOVE some TurboFire to bust my booty over summer and keep me occupied (high school teacher so I have 2 months off)

  35. Robin D. on March 7, 2012 at 7:46 pm

Having a new job with longer hours and longer commute has made me truly appreciate the time I do get to work out at home when I can’t make it to the gym…lately I have been doing Yoga off of YouTube or circuit workouts in my living room, but I am also a fan of Turbo Jam and Jillian Michael’s workout videos. Have always wanted to try Turbo Fire!

  40. Angela Lilyquist on March 7, 2012 at 7:53 pm

Hello! I’ve been following your blog for a few months now but this is my first comment ๐Ÿ™‚ My hubby is also a pilot but flys commercially for the airlines. I would love to win the Turbofire DVDs. I workout both at the gym and at home and I think these DVDs would be awesome!
    Thanks!

  41. Stephanie on March 7, 2012 at 7:55 pm

I don’t really have a specific at home workout option – I sometimes do youtube videos, but I’ve always wanted to get some DVDs especially Insanity.
Since I had some issues with my back lately I’ve been doing these Yoga videos on youtube…they’re all in japanese (?) but they work amazing for me and I can still watch and see what I have to do. Maybe I will even learn another language while doing so lol.

  44. Katie Fox on March 7, 2012 at 7:56 pm

  45. Kiersten Outlaw on March 7, 2012 at 7:57 pm

I used to love doing the 30 day shred by Jillian Michaels. It was nice that it was only 30 minutes but I got bored doing the same workouts all the time. I’ve heard great things about turbo fire. I love the turbo class at my gym.

  46. Molly on March 7, 2012 at 7:58 pm

    Iโ€™d love to win!

  50. Brooke on March 7, 2012 at 7:59 pm

It’s a toss up between a speedy Jillian Michaels DVD or dancing around to loud music for hours ๐Ÿ™‚
